Croatia V Turkey

Seemed like nerves got the better of a relatively young collection of Croatian penalty takers. Despite missing the penalty I thought Modric looked quality again tonight and his overall performance in the tournament indicates SPurs have got a bargain.

have to agree lozzer, the guy seemingly can play anywhere across midfield, and uses both feet. great to watch.

what a f*cking tournament!

To the question was anybody watching?

Hell yes!

What a last 10 minutes or so, I'm really pleased for the Turks, Terim really seems like a coach who has a group of not that brilliant players functioning as a team with a fantastic spirit and never say die attitude.

Pity that half the team are now suspended for the next game to meet the Germans.

Although I like the Croatian coach (he reminds me a bit of Mourinho at times with how he talks and acts) I'm glad Turkey went through today.

This really is proving a great tournament.

And I have not missed England one bit if I'm being brutally honest.

Ahh Turkey making a wonder comeback again. That goalkeeper, what a save he made at the end and to think he wasn't even going to be playing that match. Billic went running onto the pitch and yelling at the linesman, it did remind me a little of mourinho. and did anyone see Klasnic just laughing and crying, kinda felt bad for him.

Oh and that's what Modric gets for signing with Spurs

yess. Turkey came back again. We was incredible. Now, 4 players suspended next match, 5 players injured. But I hope we'll beat Germany.

Personally I hope they don't. This has been a great tournament so far and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The last thing I want is for it to be tarnished in my memory by it being won, for the second time in a row, by a team that plays such hideous football for 75 minutes out of 90.

Agreed, Croatia was the team that played better football, but, they failed to capitalize on that for 119 minutes which is no good. They looked an Arsenal in disguise to me yesterday.

I think Turkey deserved it for holding out the Croats and delivering the goods when required.

Yaaaaay, wanted Turkey to win, purely because Croatia have that Spud git in their side  cheered when he missed the penalty.

hear hear. turkey are a horrible team with horrible players and horrible support. germany hopefully will send them packing.

hard to disagree. we'd have stunk the place out. just think mclaren would still be manager too

No way the Turks are going to get past the Germans. Not with the way the Germans are playing, and with the Turks having half their first team missing through injuries and suspensions!

There is a huge difference between the Greek team of 2004, and this year's Turkish team. Greeks won Euro 04 playing the same way they played this year. Set pieces and counter attacks and then back to defending. Made me sick to my stomach four years ago, and I was glad to see them lose every match this year. Turks are not doing that. They play very open, and even though they don't have too many star names on their squad, luck keeps following them. Been great so far. Can't wait to see what happenes against the Germans.

I don't see them get past the Germans. Even though I was routing for Croatia, I really liked the game and the spirit shown by both set of players and supporters after and during the game. But the problem for the Turks is the many injured and suspended players they have, it would be fun to see another shocker in the semies. Who would have thought that the Russians and the Turks would have come this far ::clap2::

Great tourny and I hope it has more twists to the tale!
