blizeH
How do you expect it to look? Personally, I'm going to go with: Cech, Bosingwa, Terry, Carvalho, Cole, Essien, Ballack, Deco, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Shevchenko. Subs: Cudicini, Alex, Ferreira, Mikel, Cole Honestly, I don't think it gets a lot better than that. Only needs a couple of tweaks from our current squad too - Ronaldinho and Robinho in, Lampard out--unfortunately.
Alan
I really hope we dont have Shevchenko leading the line next season. I think Drogba will end up staying and seeing how things go under Scolari. Cech Bosingwa--JT--Riccy C--A.Cole Essien--Ballack J.Cole--Deco--Robinho Drogba Subs: Carlo, Alex, Paulo, Mikel, Maka, Kalou, *New Striker*. snitrbt25
I think it'll look something like; ---------------------------Cech------------------------ Bos---------------Terry----------Carv---------A. Cole -------------------Ballack--------Essien--------------- Ronaldinho---------------Deco------------------Robinho --------------------------Drogba------------------------- Subs; Carlo, Ivanovic, Alex, Mikel, Di Santo, Anelka, Kalou/J. Ruh Buh Juh
-------------------------Cech------------------- --Bosingwa----Carvalho---Terry---Cashley-- ------------Essien---------Ballack-------------- --Robinho---------Deco-------Arshavin------- ------------------New Striker------------------- Subs: Carlo, Alex, Ferreira, Mikel, Joey Cole, Kalou, Drogba. Essien and Ballack would completely dominate the midfield with their power and Ballack's passing. Robinho & Arshavin pushing out wide to supply the striker with Deco coming in from the edge of the box, a la Frank Lampard. Striker will have to be tall, strong, fast and can finish, i.e. a younger Drogba. :D
ethicalstrategy
How about this as a squad? --------------------------Cech Boswinga-----Carvalho-------Terry----------Cole ----------------Essien------------Ballack Robinho----------------Deco----------------Arshavin ------------------------Drogba Subs: Cudicini, Ferreira, Alex, Mikel, Joe Cole, Kalou, Sheva. Non-playing squad members: Hilario, Bridge, Ivanovic, Maka, Anelka It would be hard to see too much wrong with that line up and it only needs two more signings. yogic
He said he wants 23-24 players 1.Cech 2.Carlo 3. Hliario 4. Bosingwa 5. Ferreria 6. Belleti 7. Carvalho 8. Terry 9. Alex 10. Haim 11. Ivanovic 12. Bridge 13. A.Cole 14. Maka 15. Mikel 16. Essien 17. Sidwell 18. Lampard 19. Deco 20. Ballack 21. Joey 22. SWP 23. Malouda 24. Kalou 25. Drogba 26. Sheva 27. Pizzaro 28. Anelka --- So we see 4 or 5 cut. And if anyone else leaves then he's replaced. He has said he wants Drogba 200% and that Frank is staying. Also, he will decide on his preferred system and 2 or 3 options which we can switch to in a month. Surely he has a system in mind with the purchase of Deco. One player that I believe should be an 'untouchable' in midfield is Essien. If its a 4-2-3-1 we can start with Essien-Ballack and either Deco or Frank ( ? ) at the tip. If we're going to stick with 1 upfront then surely Sheva is on his way? But the fact that we're keeping him would suggest we might opt for 2 upfront? He's spoken like the man before him - wants to win and win playing beautiful but cant play beautiful all the time. I think we have a better chance of that 'beautiful' football with this man in charge. Thoughts on a postcard... ------------------------------------------------- Merged with existing thread. yogic
If it is a diamond .. SWP and Malouda would probably get the boot .. but what about Joey? He can play either side ... most on here don't think he can play at the tip ... but Joe has so much natural skill .. maybe he can fill in there easily? He IS our no. 10 afterall ^_^ :P
Ruh Buh Juh
will we see a diamond?...........................ballack .......essien..............................lampard ............................deco with the width from the fullbacks? I'd say swap Ballack and Essien around, Ballack's better going forward than Essien. I would like to see the diamond actually with Drogba and Anelka up front, see how that works. So it would be: ............................Cech ..Bosingwa...Carvalho.....Terry.....A. Cole ............................Essien ..........Ballack........................Lampard ............................Deco ............Anelka..................Drogba It could work... And then bring in Robinho Which equals to a 23 man squad :D

Ruh Buh Juh
To be honest, I think it'll be more of a 4-3-1-2 with Ballack/Essien/Lampard all helping with the defensive duties

Maksimov
If you play with a backline of five, you need fullbacks/wingbacks that are happy and able to bomb forward a lot. So I think you'd have to play Bosingwa and Bridge in that formation.
