Scolari Will Flop At Chelsea - Wright

He's also always been bitter about our treatment of Shaun, despite the fact that his son's had myriad chances to show his worth, but ultimately is just not good enough for a top 4 club.

Mouthy Gooner who can F**k off, IMHO.

He really is a twat.

He must have the word 'flop' on the brain after the year he has had.

Shaun continues to underwhelm, his son Bradley is caught thieving from barstaff in a club and his version of Gladiators is utter PISH!

Yep..he does know about flops.

The only way could get worse would be if he found out he was Joey Barton's secret dad...although for various reasons that seems remote at best!

Thing is, you cant look past the fact he has a few valid points.

Scolari did have the best tools to deal with in the world cup and when you think that france, italy and spain where knocked out cheaply.

And by the way brail wernt exactly deffencivly strong in that tournament

I couldnt see past portugal for this tournament, thought they had it all except a striker and ronaldo should have made up for that but it didnt happen.

no one really know's how he's going to deal with club football over here on a day to day basis, all i know is that he doesnt seem afraid to play players that may loose the ball every now and again because they have enough about them to try somthing other than a side ways pass. and not worried about upseting big reputation players, see figo

Yes he had good players at Brazil. So did Jose with us...does Jose deserve no credit for back-to-back titles?

And going INTO that WC, his team were rated as the worst Brazil team for 30 years (or somesuch) back in Brazil after struggling to qualify, with Scolari taking over after Wanderley Lumbergo had had a mare as boss. He then came up with the 'three R's' system using Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho in the same side...a move that was derided by most pundits who thought you needed more workmen in the team.

As for Portugal. Portugal had never achieved too much in football tournaments but since he took over he has taken them to the latter stages of each competition he entered with them, despite not really having a decent striker in all that time. He did have Figo though. As for Ronaldo, wellhe was a nipper when Felipe took over.

So lets not hear anymore about him only doing well due to being given jobs with good playersand not deserving credit.

*and rest...*

Only time will tell on Big Phil, but the again how much time will he have?

Not wanting to be negative at all before the guy has even started, but just say after the first 8-10 games into the new season we have already lost a couple, lost our long unbeaten home record and are say mid table or just above that. Will Roman, Kenyon and all get fidgety and get rid of him. Every season you have the bookies quoting favourite for the sack, poor old Phil could be out of a job before he knows it if he doesn't get off to a decent start.

id not be too unhappy to see us lose that unbeaten record (though the wording is wrong. the record will stay., we just wont be unbeaten anymore). i think at times we were more concerned with not losing than trying to win. and on the 8-10 games, of course the press would jump on it. their arseholes remember. but i, as a chelsea fan wont. if we have a so-so season next season i wont worry. as arsenal have spent the last 3 seasons in transitiion without any kind of pressure, then surely were allowed 1!!! (i know. we arent because were loaded).

(i know. we arent because were loaded).

And that's just what I'm getting at dkw.

I too would be quite happy if next season is "transitional" and we see improvemnets on the quality of the football played, even though that may well mean us ending the season with zilcho. But will the people that matter be happy with that?

They've set themselves up now for the position they find themselves in. By outing Mourinho for the indifferent start to last season and then sacking Grant despite two cup finals and runners up spot in the PL, how can they stand by Big Phil if we win nowt next season- especially if we suffer an early Champions League exit?

We'll wait with baited breath....................

Frankly if we get some silverware and pay the sort of football that his Brazil and Portugal side played I will be happy.

OBviously I want the ECL and EPL trophies, but then I remember the club almost going under and 'Mighty' Mike Fillery being the best thing since sliced bread.

We can all play the 'what if it goes wrong' game. I remember a lot of that going on when Jose arrived. All the same things...'never managed a club in EPL', 'too arrogant, will come a cropper' etc etc.

He has won league titles in Brazil, cups in Brazil, taken Portugal to their most successful era in their history and WON THE WORLD CUP!

So if you are down on the experience now, I suggest a good shrink.

Lets not get down on the whole thing before it has even begun.

Please.

No-ones down.

Already said, I'll be happy if he gets us playing better football. Just posing the question of how the powers that be will react if better football doesn't come hand in hand with trophies.

Isn't this the same Ian Wright who pissed Arsenal fans off by advising Sweep to join Chelsea instead of them?...

I don't label him a c*nt for suggesting Scolari will be a flop at Chelsea. I think his wrong, but I don't label him a c*nt for being wrong.

He hasn't hurt anyone with his opinions (apart from maybe SWP who perhaps would have been better off joining Arsenal), so I don't see the need for the agro and labelling.

Ian Wright, Ars*n*l Leg End and professional gobsh*te writes off Chelsea's chances of winning anything next season. And you Qaz, feel the need to defend him: Why?

Because (right or wrong), he has a right to his own opinion

But Qaz, Ian Wright and the Sun - an indefensible combination if ever there was one. Ian Wright is bitter because of his perception of SWP's "treatment" at Stamford Bridge, blaming Chelsea for SWP's loss of form and lack of consistency, ignoring the number of chances SWP has had to prove himself, and ignoring the sheer profligacy inherent in his play.

And the Sun is a rag.

He certainly has a right to his opinion, even if that right should have, by law, been stripped away years ago owing to all the sh*t this numpty jackass talks, but look at the central point behind his argument:

He is going to be under pressure from the moment he walks through the door, and thats going to break him. But the fact that he was under even bigger pressure before, from the world's number 1 footballing nation when their national team was in danger of missing the world cup, doesnt count because winning with such a talented team was no real achievement.

Huh? :D

And I especially loved "they lost to a greece side they shouldve beat". Yeah, I wonder if Wrighty has changed his opinions on Wenger who has spent the last half decade losing titles they shouldve won

Moron
