I find it hard to believe that he would just blatantly admit to helping Manchester United. Do you have a source for this?

My only explanation for the above paragraph is that possibly its out of context, and he was talking about Ferguson's mood, how that depended on if they were winning or not with the time he added?

Who did you enjoy refereeing?

In a funny way, Dennis Wise. He was a cheeky, likeable bloke and good fun. You never knew where he was going. I did enjoy refereeing those types, the same as I enjoyed them at Harrow. People with a twinkle in their eye who aren't really nasty but have an element of roguishness.

What a mug that man is....honestly, we all knew that he loved Man Utd. My first season following Chelsea was the season he was the ref at our final against Man Utd. That penalty he blew for he admitted "I blew without thinking, and i knew I'd made a mistake, but could not change my mind." But I bet he was thinking well and clear with every decision he subsequently blew for in the mancs favour. Cu*t
