TheWestwayWonder
Quite a weekend to take stock of in England -Big Sam wins his first for Blackburn, and convincingly. Might he convince Santa Cruz to stay? Lets hope he puts out cookies and milk -Gooners and Scousers going at it right now, wont jinx the result I want, but Liverpool definitely gaining the upper hand. Fabregas is out and I dont believe it it, but as I type this Adebayor has been sent off for a love tap while shielding the ball......CMON ARSENAL. Just absurd decision. Wenger is totally livid -Villa now sit in third after a great late goal against Franco's Spammers -City Lose late to WBA. I bet the Abu Dhabi gang dont let him through to boxing day -AGENT DAMIEN DUFF scores late to condemn Spurs to the drop zone.....and lift Kinear's Geordies to midtable! cmon, lets have some discussion! loz
I can actually see why Webb gave Adebayor the 2nd yellow as it looked worse than it was however the first one was an appallingly soft card.
loz
and in the 75th minute Ger 'National Traitor' rard breaks, gets toward the Arsenal box, touch is too strong, Gallas gets between him and the ball so Ger 'National Traitor' rard goes down claiming a penalty. Webb at least was having none of it.

So I heard. I only woke up at halftime and tuned in, but it was definitely a foolish challenge to make if you were already booked. Adebayor always has this look of stupidity/wonderment/disbelief when he commits a foul. It make me want to hit him This game is really starting to kick off now. Van Persie is giving Carragher fits. Lucas and Sagna now walking around with yellow, cynical fouls everywhere Im really enjoying watching Nasri when he gets the ball. Nimble little player, its just a shame Diaby is the only one playing off him

TheWestwayWonder
By the way, my fault. Spuds are not in the drop zone, just in 16th. Blackburn, City, WBA are still bottom three. Eboue on for Le Arse now to get his confidence up. Lets hope he scores Also, how do Liverpool play such crap crap football despite having these players. I wonder if they will be crucified in the press for their constant longball sh*t.....but probably not Edited December 21, 2008 by TheWestwayWonder

loz
yet another chance to go back to the top of the table now - lets hope for better than we got against West Ham. Arsenal defended well in that second half. Sammy lee, via Benitez, showed a total lack of courage in terms of going for the win after the Adebayor sending off. Outside of Ger 'National Traitor' rard's woeful attempt at a penalty, and El Zhar's header, they did nothing in the final 25 minutes Woeful team, and hopefully LFS and company realize tomorrow they dont deserve to be top at Xmas and give them a lump of coal
JT26CFC
i just can't believe we didn't beat the scousers, even with arsenal a man down and no fabregas they couldn't do anything, yet they're top of the table. Win and we go top for the break, c`mon chelsea yet another chance to go top!!

Win and we go top for the break, c`mon chelsea yet another chance to go top!! Not to mention they had to face a midfield axis of Diaby-Deneilson for the final 45 minutes and produced nothing. Like Loz said, they had a man go off 15 minutes later and slowly fed Babel, El Zhar, and Ngog into the game, the last with 4 minutes left. I cant tell if its a lack of ability of a lack of conviction. They seem to play without realizing or caring what is at stake
Gem
The Mancs call Ger 'National Traitor' rard's match to match dives a "starfish" - I think we should adopt that term every time Gerard dives and throws his arms out... It's already caught on to me and my dad, when he dived in the 75th odd minute, we yelled "STARFISH!!" absolutley brilliant. A Gerard dive = Ger 'National Traitor' rard starfish Come on Chels don't f**k up ANOTHER chance.

dkw
once again we saw benitez`s attitude to football. 1-1 away to a team with problems, they then have a man sent off. surely liverpool will chance it and go for the win? no, not even slightly. they kept 2 defensive midfielders on the pitch until the 88th minute and barely opened up at all. ridiculous. and that dive, sorry starfish was ridiculous. patented Ger 'National Traitor' rard though, lose your legs, slide on the ground, turn with pleading puppy dog eyes to the ref. what a horrible w**ker he is. Gem
Everyone knows the Daily Mail is the most pissiest of newspapers, but how about this for a headline on their website: "Robbie Keane fires stunning goal to win leaders a point" WFT?! WINS?! LEADERS?! STUNNING?! Stop f**king sucking up to those poxy pieces of sh*t on scumside. Okay, they are the leaders, fair enough and the strike was good, fair enough... but WIN?! f**k OFF!!! They haven't won is f**king ages, stop making it sound like they've done billliantly when they didn't deserve anything from the game anyway. Bad mood made worse by the Mail. Let the media big them up especially now, as they seem to be dead in the water. Everyone who knows football knows the display to day was total dross and that Keane's goal was just the shiniest piece of fools gold. The word 'toothless' would be flattering them today, because they were as miserable as we ever were playing the longball in Jose's heyday. Except they were targeting Robbie Keane and not Drogba. In 2 days we will hopefully sit top of the league, and this despite our many well documented problems Another question that I think might become very relevant within the week: If/when Sparky Hughes is given the sack, do we swoop in to deputize him as an assistant before Ol Red Nose? I feel if we dont at least try we would be fools, because if Ferguson comes calling, especially with how few years he has left (Phelan is a right hand man, not a successor) he will jump at the offer to sit in the assistants chair there Basically, I think the chop is coming for him soon and I'm worried he goes to a rival Edited December 21, 2008 by TheWestwayWonder

loz
Hughes has had a torrid time at City however prior to that his stock as a manager was high - I think that will be enough to mean he gets another manager's job when he does get the sack from City (which I expect within the next fortnight) even if it means a little time out of the game and maybe dropping a division. I suspect he is a little too proud to take an assistant's job as it will look like he is admitting he is not good enough to manage a team.

TheWestwayWonder
Youre probably right Loz, and I thought of that, but I feel like we should at least make the offer, no disrespect to Wilkins. Youre probably right in that some other struggling side (my mind turns to Pompey) will come along and snatch him up before he has time to even update his CV/Resume That picture worries me. I hope theyre feeding Damien well up on the Tyneside. Hes nothing but skin and bones and nipples. Btw, I know its into your Sunday evening over there, but anyone watching Milan-Udinese? Beckham's unveiling party before the match with alot of pomp (he will wear number 32), but Kaka and especially Pato have stolen the show. Pato has banged on in and set up Kaka for another inside 15 minutes, and now Udinese have pulled one back. 3 goals in 17 minutes in Italy? I must be dreaming. Even Ronaldinho is finding space for tricks and flicks Also, look at Milans bench: Dida, Sheva, Inzaghi, and then 36 Matteo Darmian (SUB) 14 Mathias Cardaccio (SUB) 51 Rodney Strasser (SUB) 54 Osuji Wilfred huh? ANOTHER GOAL FOR PATO, THIS KID IS BRILLIANT
