Gem Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 It's the period between Christmas and New Year, many of us are stuffed and can't move, but that doesn't stop our fans travelling to our games and giving it their all. So, when a player scores, its starting to bother me that they never show any passion or happiness. I know, they can sit down in the centre circle and blow raspberries at us if they got 30 a season, but with all the butterflies (Anelka), shhing (Drogba), shrugging (Belletti, Bosingwa) and generally looking like you've recently had to bury the family pet (Deco, J. Cole, bit harsh? I'm not in a generous mood) - have the players forgot who they're bloody well playing for? I'm not picking up on it because he kissed the badge, but Lampard (and Malouda, but I won't sing his praises just yet) is the only player at the moment who even looks like he cares when he scores a goal. A couple of seasons ago when he just pointed to the sky it was a different matter, I think he may even be over compensating to try and rally the troops (shame Mikel can't shoot, he looks like he enjoys it) Pointless rant over... Just look bloody happy you humbugs!!
Mr Chelsea Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 perhaps because of the recession the goal scoring bonuses have gone down
Chelsea Lad Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 JT's celebrations are always awesome, just stands there (or lies there, if he's injured in the processes) and just roars!

I think Malouda reaction is genuine shock that he has scored. It's certainly the reaction I have.
Maksimov Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 JT's celebrations are always awesome, just stands there (or lies there, if he's injured in the processes) and just roars! JT often does his Stuart Pearce impression.
Ruh Buh Juh Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I haven't seen Joe Cole be unenthusiastic with his celebrations. Against Pompey, he ran to the corner and had a huge grin on his face. That's better than Anelka's bloody butterfly. He doesn't really care when he scores anygoal for the past few years now. When he was a youngster at Arsenal he went nuts, but since then it's been the butterfly for years.
mad_mac Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 TO be fair, I think I've heard that the butterfly is a gesture to his daughter. So he's only been doing it since she was born/old enough to understand her father's gesture. SCott
Chelsea Lad Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Yeah a lot of those gestures are for some sort of reason we don't really know about. I think Andy Johnson does a similar gesture, I think for some sort of charity, but it's been so long since he's scored I can't remember what he does! B) It's probably the same for Ronaldinho and his little finger thumb routine.
Chippy Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I think Nics celebration is aimed at his Daughter Papillon, French for Butterfly.
Maksimov Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Yeah a lot of those gestures are for some sort of reason we don't really know about. I think Robbie Keane does his celebration to cheer up all the kids who suck at gymnastics. B)
dkw Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I think Robbie Keane does his celebration to cheer up all the kids who suck at gymnastics. B) i thought he did it to show even retarded kids have a chance in sport....
