What memories !

Think this was the game I went to when 30 of us got the 125 from Paddington.

Police Escort to the ground and a pub full of Cardiff to the right as we entered a massive park !

As we got closer to the end of the park all we could see was about 500 some with blue n white some not, no-one knew if they
were Cardiff or Chelsea - next minute our 30 charged 'em, i jogged at the back  - 'kin maniacs !!

Ends up they were all Chelsea, never 'bin so relieved all my life!

We were in the open end, Cardiff to our right, Combat / nazi stuff all game if I remember rightly, kicked off all over the place.

Another 2 clips from that same era:
1) West Ham 1 Chelsea 2 (85-86) : Revenge for the 4-0 hammering they gave us at the bridge only a month or so earlier:

2) Chelsea 2 - Spuds 0 (85-86): This was when we were at our best form that season and looked like possible contenders for the title (before key injuries and a loss of form put a stop to those dreams)

The Cardiff one is very funny to watch as areas are filling and empyting all the time.  I presume to big open end is Chelsea's main following although when I went there in about '78 that was where Cardiff were and we were in the paddock in front of the seats, that was lively too with mobs going into that end and the main side terrace on the camera side.  Back to the '84 one in the first half the covered end starts off half empty, then fills up after a load walk around the pitch (Cardiff?) and by the end of the match is pretty much Chelsea!  Anyone who was there please explain!!

Yep. Chelaea are on the open terrace to the left.  At the start of the match a mob of Cardiff showed up in the Main Stand near the away end. Bad move by them because there were loads more of us not only in the seats but in the paddock in front.  If you look at the top left of the picture at the start of Part 1 of the series, you can just about see the aftermath of the aggro as Cardiffs mob got attacked from two sides and ended up getting cornered at the back of the stand.  They had to be rescued by plod and as you can see they had to be taken out via the players tunnel and pitchside.   The home fans on the big side terrace at first thought they were us and loads charged down to the corner to abuse them, haha.  Later as the game went on and we went 0-3 behind, more and more of our lot started moving into the Canton Stand behind the goal.  When we scored there's Chelsea celebrating on three sides of the ground. And to think  Spackman had a goal disallowed not long before the comeback started. Great day out in the rain.
