As our team and fans head off on another great European adventure, I though I'd post this photo in memory of my late uncle who without I may never have supported Chelsea. He's in the photo here, one of those who stayed over in Athens in 1971 seated on the Acropolis.

What an excellent thread!!!

Bringing back memories long gone or so I thought.

Pictures of the Bridge from how we used to see it from the terraces and the away crack too, Brighton, Grimsby, Derby etc.

I'm writing this having only got to page 11 of 61 and I'm loving every second it.

I've got loads of black and white photos to scan and post, my uncle in the photo above used to bring them around before every home match as he worked in Fleet Street. I just have to make sure none of them are copyrighted.

John Phillips (according to the rear text) saves from Francis Lee v Man City April 1971 and the front states Bonetti ?. I presume this the ECWC Semi seeing as we're playing in yellow. Another massive attendance.

Jeez I feel old, I can name the players in this one. Droy, Frannie Lee, Bonetti, Dempsey, Hollins, Boyle and Neil Young RIP

Chelsea v Newcastle December 1970. A nice view of the old East Stand. I can't ever remember sitting or standing in it.

It's where I sat at my first ever match, Stoke 17/3/70

Last one for now, I'll keep putting them up providing there's interest.

Bonetti & Peter Houseman at an unknown location October 1969.

Certainly interest from me mate, hope others give you the enouragement to keep posting 'em, thanks.

This thread is like a fine wine. You need to take your time viewing it and savour its content.

Thanks for taking the time for what you've posted thus far, not just you PB but all contributors.

That picture of Phillips against City is puzzling me. It's definitely a pic of the ECWCSF, and Phillips definitely played that night, but it looks a lot like Bonetti.

I think the Newcastle player shown is Wyn Davies, brother of Ron.

Some great pictures there, Peckham Blue, please keep 'em coming mate! :good2:

I bow to your knowledge there Steve, think I just assumed it was Bonetti due to Phillips lack of appearances, good spot mate

A young John Hollis. I think someone in the print got a date stamp for Christmas as there are so many different ones on the back dating from 1964 to 1968 but I think it's 24th October 1964 away to Spurs.
