Its a bloody shame the way the pubs have gone over Chelsea, used to have a good crack in the stamford bridge arms and of course the rising sun before that, songs used to be going till late into the night, same as a lot of pubs all along the fulham and kings road.Brittania was another(so bar),used to have bands on in the evening, spit and sawdust sort of pub look at that now.every one moans about the atmospere that gone in the ground but the pubs have gone the same way,the chelsea drug-store,black-bull,white hart, swan, amongst others used to be banged out with lads every week, dont remember even having bouncers on the doors at all or maybe in the evening.still i think i'm stuck in those days sometimes, things move on and i suppose we all have to move on with it,one day soon i'll make that move .

Used to drink in the Rising Sun, Wheatsheaf, Imperial, Adelaide, Hand & Flower, Britannia, Black Bull, White Hart, Swan and many more before games. The Markham Arms, Chelsea Drug Store and Birds Nest were great after matches - I'm getting all nostalgic now!

I had a great night in the Stamford arms after we beat Boro in the ZDS final in 90, few weeks before we'd gone to Southampton away & got back to Waterloo where we met these older Chelsea lads who took us for a booze with them, back to the ZDS final & the Stamford arms we bumped in to the same fellas again, we ended up boozing with them in to the early hours & 100s of us doing the conga(as you do) on the fulham road, a couple of fellas left & came back a bit later after nicking a fire engine(or was it a bus) which made the local news.

Happy days.

Today's shot of the day, the 1972-73 squad, the squad Dave Sexton dismantled with such disastrous consequences:

a>

Back row:

John Phillips, Eddie McCreadie, Paddy Mulligan, Peter Bonetti, John Boyle, Peter Houseman, Ron Harris, Marvin Hinton, Alan Hudson, David Webb, John Dempsey

Front row:

Tommy Baldwin, Chris Garland, Steve Kember, John Hollins, Peter Osgood, Charlie Cooke

Cracking photo

Some cracking footage to watch if you've not seen it.

Brings back some memories,so close but what a great effort though from the lads, gutting really to be honest.

Cathy's just been on Swedish TV. http://www.aftonblad...icle14530407.ab - I can do a complete translation (I live in Sweden) if you want. But basically the roving reporter tries to buy a ticket on the black market and sneak a box of celery into the ground.

Interesting video. Telling comment by Cathy.. "it's getting very expensive".

Pricing me out slow but sure. TBH I'm going to SB on Saturday but I hesitated about buying a ticket which is going to cost me £60.

Forest Youth v Chelsea youth in Youth FA Cup. Tickets were £3 and £1 for kids.

Thanks for advice in the PM.

Squeaky as he was known, it was rumoured he had CFC & WHU tattoos, f@ck knows how true though, en route to WHU once we were all plotted up in a pub in Bethnal Green, sikh fella sat other side of the bar & squeaky goes up to the bar & hints he wants A pen & paper, he writes down something walks over to the sikh fella & gives him the note, with that the sikh walks out, one of the boys picks the note up & on it it said YOUR GOING TO DIE YOU P*** C*** i last saw him in the Liverpool league cup semi couple of years ago in a pub, he aint changed much still he's aggressive lol!

Ther Monday at school was quite good after the Liverpool win back in 82. Liverpool fans eating humble pie or avoiding me...

That looks like one of the old 12 seater mini buses before the law changed in 72. I remember travelling in like that from Kent when I played for my school against "Earthly" school on the gravel pitch at Clapham Comman, must have been 71. Our school sold their bus when the law changed.

Have you read the Tim Parks book, A season with Verona, he spends a season travelling around Italy with their fans, well worth a look.

Cracking read, gives you a real feel/insight into Italian supporters.
