If you watch the video, they were all ball watching and going towards the ball with no idea who is behind them or making runs into the middle ... it's mickey mouse defending for me. Once the ball has gone over them it's almost as if they are all moving in slo mo ... I guess that's the downside of having so many players out there who have had recent major injuries. Still carrying the mental scars and reluctant to sprint.

You're not wrong, but I honestly feel like in 3 of the 4 league fixtures City have had so far this season, they were lucky to come away with 3 points.

Because our first-choice right-back is out injured.

They're not going to up their game because they're not capable of it. The reality is that they are just sh*t players. I would argue that our defenders are down there with the worst in the league.

The difference was massive. We fell apart every time we went down to 10 men, City never looked like conceding. They were comfortable.

There are likely to be other, better options. Besides, who would trust them again?

Give anyone the biggest, richest, strongest team in the BL and they have more than a head start.

Pep Chavarria just might be the calming influence on our defence, a bit of composure and experience when he gets his feet under the table.

I understand people are saying give Alonso plenty of time. I agree with that. But why on earth is Gusto starting every game?

Any chance we come back for him in January? I know it’s unlikely with what happened on deadline day but it will be annoying to see him excel for a different premier league club one day.

To be honest I am abit frustrated seeing how well he’s doing at Palace. We could have just signed him and sold Fofana. At least he’ll have experience when he comes to us I suppose.

Infact it was Cole who was the only one who was trying from the front 3.. Rodgers was invisible in the second half .. should have been subbed off after the 60th.. he was all over the pitch would love to see his heat map.. the problem was the midfield that couldnt progress the ball.

I just hope we can get through our inevitable bad patch in the season with both Alonso and the ownership on the same page. We know we are going to have that horrid run somewhere between November and January, we always do. So hopefully the club remain firmly supporting Alonsos rebuild and don't leave him short in the January market nor does Alonso start questioning whether there are greener pastures elsewhere.
