Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Quite likely that KDH will AGAIN have a better season than Enzo Fernandez ... Enzo really isn't any loss and it's hilarious seeing how apoplectic 90% of the City fans are at his signing LOL. Maresca tone deaf as usual ...

City have got their man. They outbid everyone else😂, Very well done. I dont think he will be an overwhelming success, he certainly wasnt here.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Essugo has gone and I dont really think Watson and Nicole-Jazuli will be considered due to their age. I still agree we have the numbers at least until January though. In terms of quality I'm less certain, but I would have felt the same way even with Enzo here. Good player, not what we needed. Anyways, having personally disliked Enzo for quite a long while, I am now finally free to hate him. Happy days for me🥰

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Can't agree with that @charierre Another way of looking at it is offloading a player who didn't seem very popular and could well have gone on to affect squad harmony, AND for an eye watering £125M, is a no-brainer. And I don't see Fernandez strengthening any side. As I have already heard City fans on phone-ins say, he is no Rodri, or Yaya Toure - he is a pretty average footballer (with a big ego).

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Reece Lavia Hendo and Caicedo only need to play one game a fortnight on average not including international breaks, i think there are two before christmas. How will we cope? 😂

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
You think Pep was a one trick pony? His Barca, Bayern and City teams are all vastly different teams and systems. Christ, he’s had about 4 different systems at City alone. Insulting to try to say Enzo and Pep are similar in any way.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
I should have carried on reading before posting, you’ve summed it up perfectly. People are getting emotional without realising Enzo was never able to play in the position we were looking to strengthen. Rogers has already replaced him as the 10 and we’ve got enough people to get us to January with one game a week.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Caicedo, Lavia, Barco, RJ, Essugo, Watson, Nicole-Jazuli, Henderson 8 players for 2 positions while playing one game a week until January. At which point Palace will be relegated and we can throw our weight at a proper replacement in Wharton or get Camara on the cheap. You’re being needlessly dramatic, getting rid of Enzo was the most important thing in this window for squad harmony.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Poor decision making by our sporting directors, purely on a football perspective. We have strengthened a direct rival whilst weakened our own position. Yes the money was good and the player wanted to leave but at some point or other we have start running this club as a sporting entity if we seriously want to compete. Yesterday through out a clear message that the deal)s) is more important, deadlines and bluster mean nothing. Compare that Athleti with Alvarez or even Monaco with Camara who have put their team first. An excellent window upto the last few days has suddenly put us in the same peril has last year when we was found wanting in defence and risked creating bad blood with our new coach.

Enzo cant play where we are now light. Him leaving and us not signing anyone to play next to Caicedo should be seen as two separate things.

We managed to sell a lot of sh*te, brought in some cracking players, solved a potentially poisonous situation with Fernandez and made profit. A few years of f*uck ups wasnt going to be sorted in one window. We have one game a week and im pretty confident we will be fine. Wee Barco, step on up young man. Im still feeling positive for the season ahead.

Lamine Camara
At th end of the day we left it till the last minute so have nobody to blame but ourselves in that respect, Cameras name has been mentioned in the last few days so we have had ample opportunity to get this deal done, if it had fallen through as per last night for whatever reason at lest we would have still had a day or two to seek out any alternative that Alonso wanted. Camara was a player we needed in a position that every man and his dog knows is a massive problem for us with the lack of natural depth there and the reliance on Moises. We could have gone in early and tried to get Camara over the line - the money was there but instead we spend 40m signing a player that we ship straight out on loan to another club. Maybe Monoco/Camara would still have not come , however at least we would have known early on. Absolute sh1teshow as we've become so accustomed to.

Lamine Camara
Lamine Camara didnt even have his own rumour thread until yesterday ( Id never heard of him till last week ) hes hardly gonna spoil our season by not joining our great club hey ho. was he really a better option than what we already have ?

Another way of putting it, Out: Essugo, Enzo, Santos In: 36 year old dressing room cheerleader Henderson.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
He didnt want to play for us so its best that he has gone. He was effective with goals and assists but wasnt a true leader and often went missing. . Weve got an excellent fee for him from the single interested party. We now have a very healthy transfer balance and a stack of options in midfield. Reece James Moises Caicedo Romeo Lavia Jordan Henderson Malo Gusto Valentine Barco Reggie Watson Madhi Jazuli I think we should be able to struggle through till January at which time we can buy almost whoever we want if necessary. hey ho Up the Chels.

Arsenal will just tear through of midfield of injured full backs to face panicking Colwill and our heralded front three will not score 3 or 4 against a quality defence. Our wining start ends.Today
- Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
The BBC did. So we’ve had our pants pulled down. That’s left a bad taste and sense of disappointment to the window. So Malo Gusto is our best fit midfielder. Let Arsenal and City stew on that.- BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
I fully agree with what you're saying. There is no good 'replacement' for Fernandez right now and like you said, it was a once-in-a-lifetime to extract maximum profit from a problematic player. It's no different to Inter Milan selling Lukaku or PSG ditching Mbappe, sometimes a toxic player is not worth even the most extraordinary of outputs and their numbers mask an overall negative impact on the team. Maybe a bit of a conspiracy of our own here but that's my take on City too. I think it's telling that, despite knowing Maresca was a fan and that Fernandez was available all summer, City didn't meaningfully move for him until all of their other targets were signed, sealed and delivered. Illiman Ndiaye was more a priority apparently! Fernandez is clearly a vanity signing, a statement to give the impression they are backing Maresca. So the bolded part is just my view that as much as Maresca may have wanted Fernandez I don't think everyone at City fully agreed or that he justified the expected price. The side effect of not rushing into deals this summer (whether that was intended or not...) is that clubs know we have money to spend. The problem for them is they already know our top targets are Scott and Wharton, both of whom will necessarily have to be cheaper next season as their contracts run down. Anderson's transfer also created a very inflated midfielder market this season, but that effect wears down over the year. I really do think that keeping our powder dry either for January or next summer is the smartest play. We shouldn't undersell how good this window was on paper. If we don't make the top 4 or win a trophy, that's not on the recruitment.- Lamine Camara
Even when it had nothing to do with them, they still want the spotlight- BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Who exactly is the ideal replacement for enzo or someone to fill that midfield spot? I'm not too sure about wharton and scott especially those 2 going to cost another fortune, much like anderson, they are never going to justify over 100mils pricetag. Selling enzo for profit is too good an opportunity to pass because it's highly unlikely we'll ever get another chance. I'm in the camp of putting priority in selling him for profit even if there is no immediate replacement ready. Part of that thinking is also helped by the fact we're not in europe so lesser games. Btw, what do you mean with that bolded text? City only submitted 1 bid and why must it came at the last day or last hour of the transfer window? Is it just for haggling purpose? If they're really serious in enzo then they wouldn't be risking it for the deal to fall through. So, I think maybe they're not that serious but wanted to be seen as backing their manager so they did what they did and alas for them the blueco actually accepted (much to their annoyance lol) This window is the best window under blueco and I can say that because we're not in europe. The makeshift signing like welbeck & henderson should be just for this season. Next season, I would expect major signings.- BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
I saw that their CEO was interviewed at the Conference League draw, and he said they needed to sell at least one more player (eg Camara or Balogun) before Tuesday to comply with the wage restriction. ...oops - Arsenal vs Chelsea (PL) Sunday 6th September 16:30 GMT
