Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
It’s been a good start. 3 wins from 3 in all competitions is very positive. Our attacking game looks excellent, and we’re an exciting team to watch. Obviously the defensive issues are a concern and something we will need to address. Given the lighter schedule this season without European football, hopefully Xabi has more time than usual to sort out our defensive problems. Overall, it’s enjoyable watching us again. Looking forward to Arsenal next week.

Well I have been craving some football for the last 4 years and at last I have watched three entertaining games in a row. The ploy for Martinez to go long from the hands is a clear ploy for us to concede possession and play on the counter. On transition we have the tools to be devastating. The other side of Alonso's gameplay, certainly at Dortmund was gegenpressing and being solid defensively. Clearly we still have some work to do and it shouldn't be lost that two of the conceded goals came from forward players not being defensively aware and the third was a slow response to a quick turnover. Acheampong already looks so much better under Alonso and I have also been pleasantly surprised by Neto's contribution. We have to get rid of this useless weak Gusto and get some more presence in the pivot as well. Alonso and his team will sort this defence out once they are all fully fit and functioning. I am sure of it Room for improvement but my God a world way from the sterile sh*t we have been fed for the last few seasons.

Malo Gusto to Chelsea
Bloke is diabolical. Caves under the slightest bit of pressure and when you ask him to be normal, he sh*ts himself. Every French player we have signed has been a complete clown when things get tough. Do they just not know how to step up when things get a bit tough?

Once Palestra gets in the team, we will be even more open at the back. This is why we need another midfielder similar to Caicedo. The three upfront will create tons of chances and there will be a lot of danger coming from the wings, now we need that steel in midfield to protect that backline.

On the plus side, if Sanchez was in the side, we would’ve probably drawn or lost that game.

We lost both those fixtures last season. (Fulham away and Brighton at home) We've played 2 games and are 6 points better than last year. Let's keep that run up against Arsenal

Ah I see Sconnie post and I have hope it means transfer news. Shame.

Really enjoying watching us play again. If we can keep winning while we learn then perfect. Going forward we are a threat every time. Happy to concede possession. If we tighten up at the back( and let’s be honest a couple of fluky goals tonight) we will scare teams. Can’t wait for the next game, ain’t been like that for years.

Games will be exciting this year. As good as we’ve are with the ball, without it we will get found out by better teams Joao Pedro has started the season in top form Gusto in midfield doesn’t work, hope Caceido injury is just a niggle Nice to have six points on the table, 34 to safety😊

Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
Credit to Xabi on picking up 2 wins for the first 2 games, especially beating Brighton, with all the Enzo stuff going on causing issues it will have been hard to keep the group fully focused. That said he and the coaches have to get our defending, as a team, sorted. There will be games our attack does not fire. You don't win titles with a bad defence.

Tbf what's Alonso meant to do with that midfield? Caicedo obviously not fit and Enzo about to be sold. Palestra has been brought in to play RWB and he isn't fit yet so we've whacked Neto there who can't defend.

We completely lost the midfield battle and no point did we have control of the midfield not one. Them completely dominated the midfield and we have no answer at all.

Agreed. I feel like we lack a decent leader in the team to actually pinpoint when the team needs to defend. I’ve never been convinced with Colwill and his performances.

Need the midfield sorted ASAP Our defence needs a lot of time to build the chemistry because it's been a merry go round of people switching off

New midfielder needed badly.

Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) Sunday 30th August — 14:00 BST Stamford Bridge
We need a decent leader. Chelsea have constantly failed to replace JT, Gary and Dave. Miss seeing a defender going into a tackle like Terry.

Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) Sunday 30th August — 14:00 BST Stamford Bridge
The way Colwill is playing, he could easily be dropped too. I think the problems in defence are both because of the players and Alonso not getting the balance right between defence and midfield. The midfield doesn't protect the defence, there is no out ball either. We head the ball away and it would just go straight back to Brighton. Nobody was there to win the 2nd balls, we had no DM, just two CM's that had zero defensive awareness.

Pedro Neto *Official*
Thought he did well all things considered but couldn’t help himself with the bozo moments. So many big mistakes.
-
Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) Sunday 30th August — 14:00 BST Stamford Bridge
Will get found out next week. You cannot play the "we will just out score you way against Arsenal" , they will do us if we don't defend as team. Letting in that last goal is unacceptable. Lack of focus at the end of the game. Again.

Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) Sunday 30th August — 14:00 BST Stamford Bridge
That was a Frank approach and see where that got him. It’s 3 points but a lucky 3 points at that….defence and midfield shambolic and I can’t see us getting anything from next weeks game other than a spanking to bringbthis lot down to earth. Surprised Steveo never got a look in today given how both Gusto and Neto fell off the pace in the 2nd half.
