  3. This post sums it pretty well, we have a light fixture list ahead of us so the doom and gloom, oh no our season is over nonsense is so f**king grating... This ignores using a couple of the young midfielders when needed also, which we absolutely should be doing this season.

  10. Sorry, I have to report this post for being too sensible, an oasis of reason (to mix a metaphor) in an ocean of typical bloody minded negativity.
  11. Some pathetic panty wetting going on here just because we didnt buy one player, after we essentially made every change needed to the squad. We needed rid of certain players, other than one they all have gone and most for a good profit. We brought in the experienced defenders and keeper we desperately needed, we totally refreshed the attack into possibly the best front line in the league now. We have brought in midfielders, though we perhaps do need one more we now have an opportunity to play youth players in the cups without needing to "give 1st teamers game time". Some of the over the top posts on here are so laughable at times.

  13. To the argument that we should have cancelled the Enzo sale once Camara fell through, this wasn't an option for a club that does as much player trading as we do. The last thing you would want is a reputation for welching on deals ...

  17. I really hope he does well, I still believe there is a footballer in there...somewhere 😁
  18. Good riddance, and we made a profit to. We have more than enough in midfield, can we stop being so dramatic.
  19. In all the transfer window excitement, that one has gone very under the radar !
  20. We won the CL with Ryan Bertrand at LW ffs I’m sure Alonso can last until January with what we have
  21. Hard for me to get too bent out of shape at our failure to sign a player who I'd never heard of until yesterday evening. Instead I'm putting faith in Alonso to come up with a decent midfield out of the 6 specialist options he does have, plus the two right backs.
  22. This is exactly how I see it. Enzo has talent but that is only part of the equation and his attitude and baggage is well shot off for a fee that quite simply is staggering. He is damaged goods and him going to City is almost poetic. I would imagine that Barco will be starting in midfield on quite a number of occasions and maybe just maybe he or indeed one of the academy players may just be the answer. We effectively will only being two central midfielders with the wide midfielders effectively being wing backs. We can still sign free agents and yes they are free agents for reason but there are some possibilities if it’s just about legs .
  23. Incredible karma for Monaco, Balogun mugging them off has definitely made me feel better about Monaco screwing us over.
  24. Emenalo wasn't given a shirt number and looks like he is going on loan to Celtic, but totally agree on the other two. I think the player who will really grasp the opportunity with both hands though is Barco.
  25. There is a real opportunity here for one of our youth players to really step up until January. Landon Emenalo, Reggie Watson and Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli are all still available and whilst extremely young, we’ve seen young players excel in our midfield over the years such as Josh McEachran, Billy Gilmore and more recently Reggie Walsh who would require a recall but I’d rather he got more minutes at Wigan. Obviously none of that is perfect but the doom and gloom and negativity is something us fans need to drive out of ourselves because we carry that into the stadium and it transfers into the team.
  26. Quite likely that KDH will AGAIN have a better season than Enzo Fernandez ... Enzo really isn't any loss and it's hilarious seeing how apoplectic 90% of the City fans are at his signing LOL. Maresca tone deaf as usual ...
  27. It is exhausting how overdramatic everyone is being.
  28. City have got their man. They outbid everyone else😂, Very well done. I dont think he will be an overwhelming success, he certainly wasnt here.
  29. Essugo has gone and I dont really think Watson and Nicole-Jazuli will be considered due to their age. I still agree we have the numbers at least until January though. In terms of quality I'm less certain, but I would have felt the same way even with Enzo here. Good player, not what we needed. Anyways, having personally disliked Enzo for quite a long while, I am now finally free to hate him. Happy days for me🥰
  30. Can't agree with that @charierre Another way of looking at it is offloading a player who didn't seem very popular and could well have gone on to affect squad harmony, AND for an eye watering £125M, is a no-brainer. And I don't see Fernandez strengthening any side. As I have already heard City fans on phone-ins say, he is no Rodri, or Yaya Toure - he is a pretty average footballer (with a big ego).
  31. Reece Lavia Hendo and Caicedo only need to play one game a fortnight on average not including international breaks, i think there are two before christmas. How will we cope? 😂
  32. You think Pep was a one trick pony? His Barca, Bayern and City teams are all vastly different teams and systems. Christ, he’s had about 4 different systems at City alone. Insulting to try to say Enzo and Pep are similar in any way.
  33. I should have carried on reading before posting, you’ve summed it up perfectly. People are getting emotional without realising Enzo was never able to play in the position we were looking to strengthen. Rogers has already replaced him as the 10 and we’ve got enough people to get us to January with one game a week.
  34. Caicedo, Lavia, Barco, RJ, Essugo, Watson, Nicole-Jazuli, Henderson 8 players for 2 positions while playing one game a week until January. At which point Palace will be relegated and we can throw our weight at a proper replacement in Wharton or get Camara on the cheap. You’re being needlessly dramatic, getting rid of Enzo was the most important thing in this window for squad harmony.
  35. Poor decision making by our sporting directors, purely on a football perspective. We have strengthened a direct rival whilst weakened our own position. Yes the money was good and the player wanted to leave but at some point or other we have start running this club as a sporting entity if we seriously want to compete. Yesterday through out a clear message that the deal)s) is more important, deadlines and bluster mean nothing. Compare that Athleti with Alvarez or even Monaco with Camara who have put their team first. An excellent window upto the last few days has suddenly put us in the same peril has last year when we was found wanting in defence and risked creating bad blood with our new coach.
  36. Enzo cant play where we are now light. Him leaving and us not signing anyone to play next to Caicedo should be seen as two separate things.
