  1. I'm just glad that NBC started airing all the EPL games here in America so I could watch Chelsea each week. This season has been amazing to watch.
  2. Nobody on the cross or the shooter. Diego Costa gets it back.
  3. I don't know about the broadcast over there, but on NBC Sports in the US, the sideline camera is way too low. Looks like someone's mom is shooting a home movie from the bleachers. edit: probably has something to do with the stadium's design

Being in the US, I only answered the first 6 as the last 4 don't really apply to me. Q1: How did your support of Chelsea FC start? When American stations started broadcasting BPL games a few years ago, I watched a bunch of games, not really knowing who to root for. After a season or so, I decided to pick a team to follow. I can't explain why Chelsea stood out to me, but that was the team I chose. Q2: Are there a lot of Chelsea supporters amongst your family? My brother-in-law is actually a supporter as well, which almost made me not pick the Blues in the first place. But on the bright side, now we have something to talk about at the holidays. Q3: What have been the highlights of supporting the club? Since I'm relatively new, winning the Europa League Final in stoppage time would be my highlight. Q4: Are there any particular quirky stories and memories that you would like to share from either following the club or showing your support for the club? Not really. Q5: What lengths do you go to, to watch the club or find out our result (cutting short holidays, missing relatives’ weddings etc., that kind of thing)? For me, most league games tend to come on between 8am and 1pm. I can also watch games at work if they are broadcast on American stations. Q6: Who is your all-time favourite player and current favourite player and why? My favorite (sorry, I'm used to the American spelling) Chelsea player is Hazard. I don't go back far enough to have an all-time favorite, yet.
  5. Planes: Fire and Rescue I took my kids to this and they loved it. Pixar does a great job with their movies.
  6. The Usual Suspects Godfather II Godfather Maverick Braveheart Top Gun A Few Good Men Super Troopers
  7. I'm now pulling for Messi...er, Argentina...to win it all. Germany looks to be the best team, though. Messi still has to go through the Dutch today, and that should be a very competitive match.
  8. Great game by Howard. Neither team really capitalized on their chances but Belgium had so many, they were bound to break through at some point. I'm still proud of the US for playing their hearts out.
  9. We've weathered an offensive barrage so far. Hopefully, we can counter and get something going. Yedlin at least gives us some good pace down the right wing, although I hate losing F. Johnson. We need to capitalize off these corner kicks. Set pieces are one area of the game where we tend to excel.
  10. It's nice that the games are played at reasonable times for most US viewers. Here on the east coast (I live just outside of Atlanta), the round-of-16 games have come on at noon and 4pm. I remember having to wake up at 3am for the 2002 World Cup game between the US and Poland. Either way, it's great to see so many Americans show so much interest in the game. I think football has a bright future in the US. I know I've noticed a huge swell of support over the past 3-4 years. Having all the EPL games on TV now has been huge, as well as ESPN FC. As for today's match, I think we can play competitively with Belgium, but they are clearly more talented and deeper than the US. I predicted they'd win 3-1 in the other thread so I'll stick to that. We seem to have several lapses on defense per game and a good team like Belgium should capitalize on those. Hopefully, I'm wrong.
  11. 2-1 Agentina 3-1 Belgium As an American, I hope I'm wrong, but I think Belgium is too talented for our guys.
  12. My guesses. Belgium 2-0 Algeria Brazil 1-1 Mexico Russia 3-0 Korea
  13. I was very happy with the result yesterday especially considering how flat we looked for a majority of the match and with the injuries to Jozy, Besler and Dempsey. We really needed the 3 points from Ghana to have any realistic chance of advancing out of the group.
  14. My screen name is my old college ID, kind of like a prison number.
  15. I'd be lying if I said the thought of traveling up to Indy (from Atlanta) hadn't crossed my mind.
  16. Does 'Benfica' mean 'frail' in Portuguese? I swear they fall down every time they're touched. And...GOAL!
  17. Still hoping this is a classic rope-a-dope strategy. Lull them into a false sense of security in the first half, then crank it up in the 2nd.
  18. I don't see the desire in the players. Edit: Nice shot, Lampard. Fooled the keeper who was lucky to get a mitt on it.
  19. When I was in college (10 years ago) there were 3 craft breweries in Georgia, now there are probably a dozen or so. Cigar City has an IPA that I really like (Jai Alai?). Other breweries I like: Dogfish Head Lagunitas Bell's Boulevard Allagash Terrapin Ommegang What's the craft brewery scene like in England? I don't know if they ship to the states or not, but I'm always looking to try new beers.
