Kyle got a reaction from fansince1965 in Welcome home Super FrankSacking him the first time was obviously the right call but it really hurt, and you know it did for him too. Now we get a chance at a happier ending. He's doing us a favour here, there might not be many managers champing at the bit to finish off a Graham Potter season where we're already doomed into finishing mid-table, or to take on the challenge of trying to prepare for the European Champions in less than a week. Lampard's stepped up again (and again it's probably not the right move for looking after his own career at this point), I'm grateful for it.
It might not work out in practice (and it's unfair to expect it in the short time he'll have), but after the season we've had I'm just so happy to have a manager that I know will at least have the intent to have us look like Chelsea again.

Koulibaly was outstanding tonight.

That was a proper Chelsea performance, that is how it should be in every game.

Kyle got a reaction from RomansRoubles in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerIt's mental that there's actual billionaires, supposed great minds in top level sport, just sitting there and somehow thinking that giving Potter more time is anything other than just GUARANTEEING more failure. In January instead of taking a chance ahead of a pretty favourable run of games (even only 2 or 3 extra wins would leave us with a decent amount of hope of rescuing a decent league position) we chose guaranteed failure instead and now heading into f**king March Chelsea Football Club isn't even assured of its top flight status! How can anyone not want this once in a lifetime bad tenure to end?
If he's not gone before Dortmund we may as well forfeit, save our legs for the relegation battle we're going to willingly drop into.

Kyle reacted to Scott Harris in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerI sympathise with the players for once. When the manager is sitting them down to watch that all or nothing Arsenal documentary, I would completely understand them if they think this guy is clueless. They were crowned Champions League winners less than 2 years ago and Club World Champions a year ago, with most of them just starting their careers. Arsenal were the ones needing to play catch up with us, now we have Potter saying we need to emulate them? It's insulting. It's evidently clear that Potter has bought into this rubbish that the club was a mess before he arrived, but I'm just not having it. The club was not a mess, it's been turned into a mess thanks to this gung ho approach from the owners and horrible coaching by Potter.
-
So why the hell did we hire him? Can't get his team to create chances, can't get his team to score goals. Ridiculous to appoint a coach like that in a team already struggling to do both of those things.
-
I don't see any reason to retain the services of Potter
There is no improvement nor hint of it since his arrival. He doesn't appear interested or concerned. There is no clue to his plans for improvement, if indeed there are any.
I don't feel any warmth towards anyone of this ilk. It will never be right under the stewardship of this individual. Boehly must surely see this, it was (another) mistake, let's move on.
Potter won't miss the club and we won't miss him.
-
I'd take Thiago Silva as player/manager over Potter at this point

Kyle got a reaction from Oiboy78 in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerGet him gone before Dortmund. One competition left to play, the one competition we can still retain a high standard and regain a modicum of pride in our season in, let's not go out of it playing like this. We're just out of a pretty favourable run of fixtures, just a couple of more wins and we could have had some hope at being in next season's CL, but he couldn't even manage that. We're no-hopers, in bloody early February. If he couldn't even keep us in contention for fourth (at best) past this point, what gives people confidence that he'll be able to get the job done next year? Let alone being able to move us towards actually competing for trophies.

When asked about the handball:
"It's the little things that need to go in your favour and obviously they're not so that's life so nothing to complain about there"
I'm not upset that we didn't win but time after time again he's showing that he has a weak character. I saw at least 4 of our players all going mad about that, Enzo for example kept pointing out to the ref that it was a handball... And here we have his own manager not caring about it at all.
I understand that nothing can be done about it and that all of it is already in the past. But the way he's just never going to be bothered about anything at all, that alone is making me dislike Potter, cmon start smelling the coffee ffs you're managing one of the most expensive squads out there, I honestly think that nobody is going to listen to what he has to say if he keeps thinking that he can just keep saying, let's move on let's move on let's keep working...

Kyle reacted to Scott Harris in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerHe's not good enough. His tactics are killing us in every game. How do you bring a player like Mudryk in, a player who has an incredibly direct style of football, and expect him to adapt to this slow, safe and turgid style of football? Our game is so slow with this tight death of football 5 yard passing that goes absolutely nowhere. It's sh*t, we barely create any good chances and it always leaves us vulnerable. There is nothing exciting about our football. Could you imagine a player like Mudryk in Liverpool's system? or Felix? or many of our players? Klopp would be in dream land.
We need a more direct coach and even if you like Potter as a coach, he will never be that. He will keep us a mid table team because his style of football doesn't allow his teams to be anything more than that.
Almost every game he has coached so far he has had us looking worse after half time. His subs are almost always terrible, even Benitez made better subs than this. He brings Chilwell on today and immediately takes Mudryk off, how does that work? Chilwell and Mudryk seem like they are made to play together, but Potter can't see it. It's a good thing Kepa has grown some confidence, because if we had the Kepa we were seeing under Lampard, then Potter would be losing every single game. Every team tests our keeper more than we test theirs.
-
His Football is so, so boring. It is such a chore to watch us. It should not be like that. He has even managed to make Mudryk look sh*t in two games. How many will he need to make Enzo look a downgrade on Jorginho?
-
We looked every bit an elite team in his second season before Reece James got injured.

Kyle reacted to Scott Harris in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerEven if he doesn't have the same effect that Tuchel had, the least we can expect is to see something, anything that suggests there is something to build on. I have seen nothing so far, I haven't seen a single thing that he has bought into the side that has been an improvement. Our attacking game is horrible, the opposition test our keeper more than we test theirs. Even against Liverpool where we controlled most of the game, Allison wasn't tested at all. We have never looked so sh*t in attack.
I keep hearing the transition excuses, but when are we going to see a single sign of this transition? If nothing at all has changed by the end of the season, then are they still going to be saying Potter deserves more time? It's not like we are expecting us to go on a run of winning 5 games on the bounce, but 2 wins in 12 league games is abysmal. It seems like some fans will be fine with another 2 wins from 12 as well.

Kyle reacted to cfcforeverfan in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Managertypical UK 'pundit' blindly supporting their English mate...
how can a Chelsea manager lost 8 out of 10 games with 1 win only? Sunderland will sack their manager, Ipswich will sack their manager, hell even macclesfield town will sack their manager with this horrific form, but we as Chelsea FC, the team that won CL 2 years ago, finished 3rd last season, CWC winner, got into both domestic cup finals, spend 300m this year with all the internationals in every positions should 'give him time' Bollocks!

Kyle reacted to Vialli_Sampdoria in Hello from a Sampdoria fanHi all, and nice to meet you. I am writing from Genova (Italy) and I am a 32-year old huge Sampdoria fan.
As you immediately understand, we have a lifelong bond thanks to our common legend Gianluca who made history here winning trophies with a Leicester-like team (with his "goal twin" Mancini).
From now on, I would like to follow also Chelsea story, in memory of our beloved Gianluca.

I just miss the time when our biggest problem was that we had a manager that "hated" Gilmour and Hudson Odoi.
Doesn't seem so bad now does it.
