Control the midfield, use mudryks pace to push them back, leave room for James, Enzo and Chiwell to get at them.

Well we have to score two goals. Pretty much mission impossible. Without badiashile I’m not liking a back 3. Neither fofana or chalobah play on the left I guess chalobah fofana koulibaly might work. But I don’t like it much and can’t see two goals from that lineup.
so

                      Kepa

      James fofana       koulibally Chiller

         Gallagher     Enzo.      Kovacic.

             Felix.    Havertz.    Sterling

Kante might even get a few minutes.

or riskier Felix could play deeper in mid field with muddy at right wing. But I like Gallagher for that spot and if nothing is happeng change the entire front 3 at 55 minutes.

I don't think we need a miracle. Dortmund are pretty average defensively, and if we actually go at them, and go at them hard, then winning, say, 2-0 or 3-1 really should be comfortably within the scope of our squad's potential, even allowing for the habitual wastefulness in front of goal.

Good shout. I think we will stick with the wing back formation. We ought to create a fair few chances with Reece/Chilly down the flanks. Hopefully Felix gets a bit luckier and we can overturn the deficit from the first leg.

I liked our response to going behind against the run of play out there  . But they are on a fantastic run , , however if we are as wasteful as in first leg we're going out..

I still reckon we're going to hand out a pasting one day, been saying that for weeks sadly.

Come on you BLUES!

This one is a step too far for us based on where we are right now, and where they are right now, imo.

If their defence switch off on set pieces and give us a pen or 2 maybe, but from outfield play we are just not clicking.

They've won 10 straight matches. We've won 3 in 18, scoring 2ce in 7.

With some luck, VAR having a blinder for us, few players step up , it's doable. Usually 0:1 is a decent result, especially with no away goal. As long as we don't concede first, even 0:0 after 65 we are just 1 goal  to force the ET, with the home crowd behind the team. The challenge as usual is where to find the goals or goal to drag into penalty shootout. We can't even throw on Auba with 10 minutes to go, most likely to we will throw on Ziyech or Mount. If Dortmund is smart, they will play the counter attack and let us eat up 75% possession and the game is over before we know it.

the away goal thing is irrelevant of course. Just got to score 1 more than they do by the end of the 90. And 2 than them  to win the tie.

Watching Lpool and wasn't that fun, you could see how they tried to get salah going early all night long. Wasn't always where the goals came from but they didn't muck around going forward.

We absolutely have to consider this as a (hopefully first of many) final. The team needs positive things and something to dream of. If we lose this one we have absolutely nothing to play for for the rest of the season. We know how dire that is.

From Potter I am hoping for some sort of pragmatism here. Find your inner-Jose if you will.

This is an amazing chance of turning the mood around in the camp.

And it is the best competition in the world!

Looked better in a back 3 so hope we stick with that again.

After the match coverage tomorrow there’s a documentary on Chelsea on bt sport

My mate took his kids there after writing to Bates.

Denis Wise was brilliant with the family, and joked about the betting shop pen my  mate gave him lto sign autographs !  apparently injured players had to be ferried back to the Bridge for treatment .  and when the Uni lot turned up the team had to pack up and leave.

When we were looking for a new training facility, somewhere in  Twickenham was considered

There were objections in the local paper,  which a guy brought into work.

" It will attract Chelsea hooligans....and most bizarrely, It will be a "magnet for paedophiles".. best not think about that last one .

We are a world away from that now,  shame the football isn't!  I'm sure it's going to work out for us, the team is packed with talent

It's on Talk Sport now about the docu.  Our newer fans will be amazed at what we were..

Hoping that after the game I'm in the mood to watch it

referee Danny Makkelie

@Valerie a penny for your thoughts

Makkelie has a mixed reputation. So he can be flawless, but also make some let's say unexpected decisions. Let's hope he's anti-German
