So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Then why 'should' he get sacked? History proove's that sacking managers every 3 months does NOT save football clubs. We shouldn't have sacked Tuchel but we did, we shouldn't have sacked Potter but we did, Frank was just interim but the point is not Tuchel, not Potter, not Frank and so far not Poch have turned us back into a top 4 team so why on earth should we think that ANY OTHER manager would! The reality is that when Abramovich was FORCED to sell the club the club had to start again from scratch, and starting from scratch means you don't get immediate rewards. Brighton have been steadily building for TWENTY years to get to where they are today, the fact that we are not starting from as low a point as they started (they really did start from scratch) means that hopefully we won't have to wait 20 years to compete again - blaming and then sacking Poch just means going straight back to square 1 again! Poch IS a good manager, our young signings ARE full of potential - GIVE POCH TIME and he will get a tune out of them. Our days of fighting for the league may be over for the foreseeable future but I can see us challenging for European places again within the next few years (tall order for this season mind). Until we get there I just wan't to see us slowly improve as time goes by.

Chelsea v Brighton (LC) Wed 27th Sep 2023 19:45 GMT
Its still a bit 'raw' to admit it but Brighton ARE a much better team than us.........CURRENTLY, so I think we can all go to bed feeling pleased (for the first time in a LONG while). They out possessed us and shaded the shots at goal BUT they ARE a good team, the fact that they didn't 'bury' us like they did last season has to be a sign of improvement doesn't it? Perhaps (just perhaps) this is the equivalent game to the game under Hoddle v Newcastle in season 93/94 which was a 'turning point' for this club. I was lucky enough to be there that day and although Newcastle (who were fighting at the top of the table back then) dominated the possession there was 'something' different about us, a 'new' way of playing, a bit more steel, a 1-0 victory that put us on a path of improvement - well I hope it is the equivalent anyway! 🙂 ALL clubs find Brighton a tough nut to crack so we have to be pleased with the performance as well as the result today.

To be honest its not surprising, after years of the strains of too much football we only have the league and domestic cups, we should play full strength teams in all games. Can't believe Chilwell has picked up a hamstring! Our injury crisis is almost unbelievable, I've never known anything like it.

Chelsea v Brighton (LC) Wed 27th Sep 2023 19:45 GMT
If we get a pasting here it could be really damaging for an already wafer thin moral, I can't see anything but a Brighton win. I am so worried about what our league position will be by December, I honestly can't see us picking up many points even if we improve our performances so I am conflicted, would it be favourable for us to go out this cup early so we can concentrate on survival or do we hope for a cup run to improve confidence but subsequently pick up more of the inevitable injuries we get every time we play a bloody game!? I'm not even sure if I can bear to watch for the next month or so. I wish I had another sport I could get into for a few weeks until all of this 'goes away'!

Chelsea v Aston Villa (PL) Sun 24th Sep 2023 14:00 GMT
I can't believe people are STILL blaming Potter lol!!! W'eve won TWO Premier League games since he was sacked!! TWO!! at least he had us 8th...........if anything he was a bloody genius! lol If our last 35 games were all in one season we WOULD have been relegated. How long before the 'sack Potter' brigade start the same again with Pochettino I wonder?

Man Utd v Chelsea (PL) Thur 25th May 2023 20:00 GMT
I hate to say it but I fear you are right! There seems to be some 'hope' running through some of us but lets get real here, we ARE currently THE worst team in the division, possibly with the exception of Southampton though personally I believe we are worse than them. Are we to believe that Pochettino will get this lot back to 'top 4? No chance! Personally I think that if we can avoid a relegation dogfight next year then we have done well, and I'm not even joking! I am an old fella and I was a very young man the last time we were this p*ss poor.

Bournemouth v Chelsea (PL) Sat 6th May 2023 15:00 GMT
Winnig a game feels a bit surreal! Scoring 3 goals even more so!! Getting a long term injury with one of our 'better' players - a bit more of a 'familiar' feeling! I'm right in thinking that Boehly brought in his own 'fitness/medical' team aren't I? Whoever they are they are probably doing the worst job in the history of association football, can't we plead with the old medical team and beg them to come back? I quite like the idea of Carneiro coming back.

Arsenal v Chelsea (PL) Tue 2nd May 2023 20:00 GMT
I wonder if Mr 'TImesuppotter' is still pleased we ditched Potter!? At least Potter had us competing and (occasionally) winning! 😄 In fact when you watch us now it makes me wonder if Potter was an actual miracle worker getting results out of this shower of sh*te!

Welcome home Super Frank

Who do you want to be the next manager? (2nd Poll)
I hate Spurs as much as anybody but lets be honest if we became Premier League champions and Champions League winners under him his Spurs connection will soon be forgotten! In fact I'd take 'top 4' under him right now, I'd rather be 'top 4' and competing with an ex Spurs manager than fighting relegation watching 'dross' like we're seeing now under somebody else!

Did you accepts Hoddle? The man that started the revolution at Stamford Bridge?

Who do you want to be the next manager? (2nd Poll)
Oh ain't that the truth!! For some reason 'some' seem to simply blame the managers for all our woe's, the last 5 games we've played has left Potter looking like a genius! We are the worst team in the league right now, surely rock bottom? Whoever the next guy in is he MUST BE GIVEN TIME, this mess is going to take some sorting out! Sacking Tuchel didn't work and in hindsight was a mistake, sacking Potter didn't work and in hindsight was a mistake, hiring Frank isn't working and in hindsight was a mistake, the next guy 'might' hit the ground running but its unlikely, he MUST BE GIVEN TIME! Its obvious that simply changing managers is not the answer.

Who do you want to be the next manager? (2nd Poll)
He hasn't won anything in a top league, look I know that this is going to sound snobbish but Celtic is probably the biggest club he's been at and as I've recently pointed out even I could manage Celtic to a Scottish Championship, fact is Celtic are still doing 'poorly' when they come up against anybody outside of the Scottish league, if he'd taken them to a Champions League quarter final or semi final the way Ten Haag did Ajax then he would be making a mark, I know you can only beat what's in front of you but winning the SPL with Celtic is not a mark of a great coach. I'm not saying he is a 'bad' coach, I'm saying we just don't know, he needs to move on from Celtic to prove himself.

Who do you want to be the next manager? (2nd Poll)
We all know that if Chelsea aren't in the top 3 10 games into next season 'some' fans are going to be calling for his head!! If we appoint Pochettino then so be it.....he IS a good coach but FFS we must give him TIME!! Who knows there is always a chance that he is a perfect fit and the team gets no injuries and things go well from the start but there is also the chance that every game we play we lose one of our 'best' players to serious injury and it MIGHT take a while for Pochettino to separate the wheat from the chaff, it might take a while for the team to settle into his way of playing.........we shall see but FFS we MUST give him TIME!!

Who do you want to be the next manager? (2nd Poll)
Hi might be a good coach, the trouble is we don't know, winning the championship with Celtic is NOT an indication of being a good coach, I could coach Celtic to the Scottish title! They have come up woefully short in the Champions League, Gerrard looked like a great coach when he coached in Scotland! Scotland is a pointless league, those 2 are so far ahead of the other clubs in Scotland that its basically a 2 horse league. The Scots have destroyed their own league because 90% of Scots support either one or the other to the detriment of their local clubs, at least Kompany has 'walked' a VERY competitive league.
