September 24, 20232 yr Could be a giant killing on the table. But I don't think our squad has enough quality to pull it off.
September 24, 20232 yr Broja and Washington need minutes in this, unless we intend to start Sterling [presumably] as false nine against Fulham.

No way can Broja be asked to start, and play most of the game, so soon. Jackson has shown himself to be immature with how he has picked up these 5 completely unnecessary yellow cards.
September 24, 20232 yr I am not sure if Gusto is banned for this or the next 3 league games. If he can play he takes Gilchrist place: Petrovic Gilchrist Disasi Colwill Maatsen Ugochukwu Gallagher Madueke Palmer Mudryk Jackson
September 24, 20232 yr Perhaps we need to try the approach of a 1970's school PE teacher and make James, N'kunku and Fofana start the game to see if they are really injured or just putting it on.
September 24, 20232 yr May as well playing a strong team since 7 days rest+ training didn't do much, players are getting injured anyway, better than in a match than training. Brighton may rest a few players after 3 days in 6 days, we may just cause an upset😄
September 25, 20232 yr More games = more they get to know each other which can only be better for us in the long run
September 25, 20232 yr On popular opinion I am reading is we need out of the cups to focus on surviving this season. I think we need to stay in the cups and try and build some form of...well form.
September 25, 20232 yr I don't see anything other than a loss coming out of this. I would like Poch to try something different.
September 25, 20232 yr Sanchez Caicedo - Disasi - Colwill - Cucurella or Maatsen Ugochukwu - Fernandez Madueke - Palmer - Mudryk Broja or Washington Edited September 25, 20232 yr by Sexyfootball

I don't even think we should be rotating in the way you would expect for the cup. Only rotation should be to try something new we expect to use in the league e.g playing well. Sadly for those (Very) youngsters on the periphery that may normally have been given some game time in the cup, I can't see it being on the cards this year. My main hope is that we may get a look at a back 4 without Silva. I'm in no way saying he is solely responsible for our form, but we're at a point where we need to see how we defend without him. He'll be one that could do without 2 games a week so hopefully we see Colwill back in the middle and a natural LB playing.
September 25, 20232 yr Pretty sure Gusto's 3 match ban is in the Premier League games against Fulham, Burnley and Arsenal. So he will likely start against Brighton.

Ah OK. I thought it applied to all domestic games. Not sure why I thought that ... maybe it was the "old" rule before the PL took over, in which case I am stuck in 1991/92 LOL

September 25, 20232 yr Sanchez Gusto - Disasi - Colwill - Chilwell Caicedo - Fernandez Sterling - Palmer - Mudryk Jackson

I'd go with that too. Rest Thiago, and play Chilwell in his natural position. Broja with some more minutes from the bench too, which will help him prepare for a probably start against Fulham.

September 25, 20232 yr If Brighton play their development squad then we might just scrape a draw...😃👍
September 25, 20232 yr Silva has to be rested, asking him to play 3 games a week is asking too much. Otherwise no sure how Poch should approach this. Brighton are levels above us, if they have an off day we have a chance, like when they payed West Ham. If it is the Brighton who is crushing everyone then is a long game ahead for those watching.
