West Brom vs. Chelsea (PL) 23/08/15 KO 13:30 BST
haha pedro really is something ain't he? our players are very suspect to runs behind the defence when we play high. Zouma is very important when we play high but even then they use the inside channel of Ivan/Zouma and get through there regularly due to Ivans positioning not being correct. Can see why Jose is so desperate for Stones now.

Pedro
Pedro solves a hell of a lot. Our wingers lacked a left footer and Pedro is very good with both feet. Our wingers lacked a guy who can stretch play as well as create and Pedro can do that, our winger options lacked a goalscorer other than Hazard and Pedro can do that as well. He's great at hassling players and pressing when the team lose possession as well. Clearly Mourinho is trying a more attacking side to what he currently has and even if he wasn't against the buses Pedro's hassling of players will be much appreciated. We also have the choice of never playing Falcao again as Pedro can play up top although we should play Falcao so Mendes can get us some cheap south americans from Portugal and Spain.

John Stones
What's your opinion on Kenwright? Even if you do get the 40m I wonder how eager he would be to spend that

25m with add ons I believe.

Antoine Griezmann
56m isn't outrageous for somebody of his quality. But yeah the price tag would probably put us off.

How and why do people find these stats...?!

Courtois vs Begovic- who should be number 1?
Yeah as good as Begovic is, Tibo is our primary 'keeper

Cesc Fabregas
it's very possible that Terry and Fabregas can't coexist in games in the big teams; but more should go to Cesc than Terry. Even if we were to get a defender that enabled us to play a high line (and hence reduce the defensive distance Fabregas has to cover, automatically minimise his positional mistakes/complacency), Cesc would still be too weak defensively. He offers far too little in defence and it was one of the reasons why he wasn't trusted in midfield at Barca (a high line set up). His positioning is too poor and he's just not defensively inclined. Little likelihood that he could ever play defensively well over a length of time in a double pivot. And whether a 4-2-3-1 is really best suited to a high pressing game with the current set of players is also to be asked. We could go to a 4-3-3 but asking Jose to drop Terry, Ivanovic, change formation, employ a high press, employ a possession game in players who and train Cahill against his instincts for the last 4 years seems hard to do without dropping a fatal number of points in the title race. Especially seeing as most of those he's never done before and go against the very nature of the man and his footballing philosophy. So the best bet is to stick to the same system and just get a better set of players. CM, RW, drop Ivan and just get a pacier replacement for Terry and/or Gaz (not necessarily to adopt a super high line, but higher than the line that's deployed right now)

Cuadrado to rival Torres?
Laughed hard. Totally wrong forum, and does not warrant an entirely new thread
-
Chelsea have gone backwards by not recruiting...
Leeway on Costa because of this chronic hamstring issue. Not really his fault. A lot of the rest though are out of form

Any thoughts on team / club so far
Yeah, league hangover

Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23
No, the play him at RB was an additional comment to my previous defence of him (the paragraph before)

Not sure if it was Pardew or Newcastle that was causing the effect, but we should win all those bar possibly everton away.

Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23
What chances has Cuadrado been given? A few 30mins in games as a last resort, or being the first guy to be subbed off after half time? He does seem to put in the hard work (his work rate is evident not just here but his time in Fiorentina), makes the decent runs and puts in quality balls yet the rest of the players just don't make use of him or respond to what he does. In the end, it's him who ends up looking like ****. Like there was a cross from deep that he put in for Costa today, it was absolutely perfect for him to attack, landed about a yard in front of him unmarked in the box. Except he just stood there and watch it bounce and go by. It was pure laziness, maybe because he had given up on the game at that point. How can you expect players like Cuadrado to impress when he's only put on when everyone else has given up? Could be tried at RB -- was good there for Fiorentina

John Stones
Rahman is probably more important than stones at this time. I'm not sure how we'd gradually introduce both Zouma and Stones this season. Would rather see Zouma get as many mins as he can for now. Not to say we can't buy both but...
