Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
Obviously won't be the case but it'd nice if the title was between us and Arsenal in the end (with us winning, obv ;)). That London rivalry + the title returning to London. Man United lol... just lol.

Agree that Lamps/Mikel isn't a good combo but thankfully this type of game is one where we can afford to do that, I believe. Ramires will probably start though. Would like to see Ram/Essien tbh. inb4 we lose

Thibaut Courtois - Barcelona
Quite unlikely to see Cech playing for Manchester United considering they have a very young, world class (talent) keeper in De Gea, who probably had a better season than Cech last season. Barcelona maybe although they seem to be linked with Ter Stegen. Not at Arsenal either. I don't see what's wrong with bringing him back, and having them compete. Maybe Cech will outperform Courtois, which is possible for sure, but really, having them play to see who really is the better one shouldn't be too much trouble. Oh and, agree with the above poster. Another thing to point is, how many people have watched Courtois play (semi-)regularly for Atletico to compare these guys?

Baines has been fantastic. Maybe we should go for him next season if Cole shows he isn't up to it anymore? ;)

Essien doing brilliantly with Ghana, apparently.

Tinkerman was ahead of his time
I hope we meet Monaco next season in the CL.

Sami Khedira
There's always Luke Shaw if our LBs aren't good enough!
-
Willian
We already have problems there even with Ramires. But we'd be in quite a lot of trouble if he did get injured.
-
Sami Khedira
Khedira is a very good player but he's not for us tbh. With Khedira his main strength was to push forward and make space for Alonso to put in passes from deep. He's not an anchorman as such but more a box-to-box midfielder; we'd need another DM next to him who's quite disciplined and would stay back. While Alonso isn't a normal DM, he doesn't tend to get forward as much as someone like Modric would so was the perfect partner for Khedira. If we could get another DM with him then it'd be a lot better.

Who's the perfect central mid/ dm for Chelsea?
Bender + Pogba. Ramires/MVG -- Pogba ------------Bender------------- Sublime. ^Also, isn't Chalobah a CDM? Pogba works better as a CM.

Sturridge Transfer
That penalty was terrible. If the keeper dives the right way it's an easy save. Dives the wrong way and it's cool as ****

Who's the perfect central mid/ dm for Chelsea?
Guys really though, what do we do if Ramires gets injured? And he's bound to get tired as well. We can't afford to play Lamps/Mikel as the pivot regularly. Maybe Oscar can go there but I really think he's more suited to the role of an AM. In fact I think our midfielders are more suited to the 4-3-3 (which I also think is superior to the 4-2-3-1) but we don't have enough quality. Really hope we go for one (or two although maybe in the summer) in Jan. Problem is some of them will be cup-tied.

Random Rumours
http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-confirm-interest-in-signing-new-makelele-gianelli-imbula-8864038.html So apparently we're interested in this guy who's meant to be a Makelele-esque player. Know absolutely nothing about him but it's good to see we're looking at options. EDIT: never mind, I realise it's already been posted. I think this is a confirmation though.

He can play as both although he has just roamed around with Fernandinho a bit deeper, although yeah he has played as a DM. Point is though we need someone (whether it's a DLP or BBM) who can dictate the game well/control the game from deep and has a good deal of strength to him so he Touré doesn't boss the midfield like he did last season. We don't have anyone of that calibre so I'm wondering how we're going to deal with him. Shame we don't have Matic anymore although we did get Luiz as part of it. Romeu I feel could do a decent job as well but he's at Valencia. Don't think I need to mention why Lampard would have difficulty against City.

Yeah. He destroyed us last season and he'll cause a lot of problems if our midfield is Ramires/Lampard once again. But who do we have that's physical enough to combat him? Luiz? Mikel? If only Essien's best days weren't behind him :(

Karim Benzema in January?
Diego Costa is an even bigger prick than Suarez -- on another level. Wouldn't be too keen on seeing him here. Although if we have little other options than why not...
