We can't farking keep the ball

That will happen if our strikers decide to shoot the ball straight at the keeper every time

It's no surprise this slump is coming as soon as we're facing half decent teams. The warning signs were there. We hardly create against against such teams and when they score then we're up against it. Most of our attacks today were aimless crosses. Team still needs a lot of work.

Nothing is working for Havertz. Lampard should sub him out.

Havertz had two chances to shoot from a similar position yesterday but he's so slow and both shots got blocked.

Everton v Chelsea (PL) Sat 12th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
That was a terrible game by us. Hopefully we learn from it. It was quite surprising that our crosses were so toothless given that Giroud was playing. We really need to improve in the so-called big games.

Kai Havertz
Good post. Playing out of position does not excuse how slow he is and how he loses the ball or misplaces passes. It can be argued that he will cost us goals if he plays centrally and loses the ball so carelessly. He really needs to step it up otherwise we will be looking at another terrible purchase.

Kai Havertz
Did you even read my post? I didn't say we shouldn't buy players with potential. Spending such big money on potential when you can never be sure the potential will develop is not a great strategy in my book
-
Kai Havertz
Why spend 70m on "potential"? With that kind of money you should be getting a quality player from the get go. What if he doesn't develop into the world beater we are hoping for? It is always a high risk spending this kind of money on potential, and I voiced this when the rumors started.

Surely a top player should be able to adapt his game just a little bit? Even centrally he hasn't been that impressive. Loses the ball way too often

Do you see how effortless he makes things though? /s

Who is knocking him down? All I've seen is praise on this thread???

He looks too slow to me, and it's not based on just today.

Spurs are in a good place now but I feel they will drop points against teams that park the bus against them because they rely mostly on counter attack. At least I hope so

I'm not against taking the knee, but I seriously doubt it is making any difference to the cause

Timo Werner
In that case we should be looking for another striker soon unless Tammy develops to be a clinical striker (which doesn't seem to be happening at the moment). Missing so many easy chances will bite us in tight games. The first miss was inexcusable.

Chelsea v Leeds (PL) Sat 5th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
If he keeps missing such chances how can we trust him at CF? All strikers miss chances but it's very weird to miss so many gilt-edged chances in a row. Maybe he's just not a good finisher

Chelsea v Leeds (PL) Sat 5th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
Does he really get a pass though? He has been heavily criticized, especially after the Spurs game. I've said it before, but we still don't have a clinical striker. Some of the chances our strikers miss are mind boggling.

I was really curious about the xG for this game given how many chances we missed

Chelsea v Leeds (PL) Sat 5th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
So being played out of position is what's causing him to miss sitters every game?

Chelsea v Leeds (PL) Sat 5th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
Mendy thought about attacking the ball then hesitated midway. If he didn't hesitate he would have got to the ball before Bamford. Mistakes by both him and Zouma.

We miss so may good chances almost every game. It's ridiculous!

WTF was that??? Werner is becoming notorious for missing sitters

Sevilla v Chelsea (CL) Wed 2nd Dec 2020 20:00 GMT
Good point, but that's why he's paid the big bucks to make such tough decisions. Good problem to have though.

Damn Giroud! Surely he has to start the next game?
