Everton v Chelsea (PL) Sat 12th Dec 2020 20:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Really need to win this game, my father in law is a massive evertonian and it would be good to rub it in his face again. Let's just hope this time they don't postpone the season after the game

Everton are a very mixed bag, sometimes they look extremely vulnerable, other times they look like they could do a Leicester of 2016. They've got a top manager and quality players, but offensively we can be too much for anyone.

I think we'll beat them.

We used to have a good record against Everton but in the last six League matches it's been; Won 2, Drawn 2, Lost 2.

A tough one to call, they'll want revenge for the 4-0 spanking we gave them in march. Plus we're short a couple of key players. Expect Giroud to keep his spot for this one.

Ziyech and cho injured, Giroud is old and havertz is still far short of the real deal. Pulisic is injury prone and Tammy’s a bit hit and miss.

so we are still far from the full bottle in attack

I guess it will be Pulisic Werner and Giroud

mount Kante and either havertz or kova in midfield

What is the best position for havertz in this team?

On the bench ?

In a 4-2-3-1 - he's the middle in the 3

In a 4-4-1-1 - I could see him behind Tammy.

Otherwise a bad fit in midfield or a bad fit out wide.

I would guess you are right on your selection for the front 3.

However with Ziyech and CHO injured that would leave us with only Tammy as a semi experienced attacking option. Which is perfectly fine if we steam roller them but I wonder if we may be better served to keep either Pulisic and Giroud or Werner and Abraham on the bench. As both those pairs have formed good understanding and could make a good double change latter in the game. Depending on how Everton shape up it gives us two who have pace and like to get in behind or two who like the ball to feet and can better expose a deep sitting defence.

Whichever two you pick to start you can team with Anjorin, they can help bring him in to the game more.

A bit too ambitious there I think. Anjorin should be bedded in the cups and latter half of games that we dominated

8pm again? f**k off BT you arseholes!

They're not even showing the game, so I'm guessing you must be Jürgen Klopp.

We could be going into this without Ziyech, CHO and Pulisic all at once. Not very good, likely we have Werner and Havertz on the wings.

Only thing is, who do you bring on when things aren't going so well? Because let's face it, Kai isn't cutting the mustard right now like other players are and playing him on the wing certainly doesn't help.

With Lampard saying Pulisic had a minor reaction in midweek and with him being our only fit natural winger i would go for a 343 because the 433 with attacking eights only works when we have wingers that can stretch the pitch. will go for

                            Mendy

             Azpi          Silva           Zouma

James          Kante     Kovacic          Chilwell

             Havertz                   Mount

                            Giroud

If true then I once again blame @coco for spreading fake news!

Apologies. I assumed that, as was the case last week, Sky had the late games on a Saturday. Just as BT have the lunchtime Saturday games.

Obviously not.

Mr. Glass hamstrings are bothering again so bench are best I would say.

Mean we either play Kai out wide with Werner or we play Anjorin from the start.

If we go with the more like Kai think we may need to start Tammy so we have someone other than Werner who has pace. If the unlike Anjorin starts the  stick with Giroud.

                 Mendy

James T.Silva Zouma Chilwell

                  Kante

          Havertz    Kovacic

Werner                        Mount

                 Giroud

No need to apologise. Just feign ignorance and blame @coco anyway, always works for me!

The Office No GIF
It’s got to be Mason in the Middle for me.

@The Don Antonio's formation is better since no player is being played out of position.

I also want to see Mount in the middle as well and it looks like that we can't play our normal formation 4-3-3 right now, having only 3 natural wingers is hurting us after all.

There is the option of going with this midfield and attack:

                 Mendy

James T:Silva Zouma Chillwell

   Kovacic Kante Mount

             Havertz

       Werner   Giroud

4-3-1-2 with Mount and Kovacic going a bit wider and Kai playing his natural role behind Werner and Giroud.

Looking forward to this one. Everton aren’t such a dull team this season and quite beatable after a good start of the season and there will be fans there which makes a difference. We have come a long way since losing there last year when Duncan Ferguson was briefly manager and record there over the years must be pretty good.

I’m looking forward to Werner and Havertz getting into some kind of rhythm. In the meantime Giroud is our mostly reliable goal scorer so has to play. I want to see Pulisic get more game time too. He was unplayable at the end of last season and if he can get back to that kind of form our attack will be hard to stop.

I’m going for 2-0 Chelsea.
