  1. Tell you what Lukaku remember he's supposed to be blumming useless ?.... only just scored again v Norwich.
  2. I am going to stick my neck out and say we will beat Porto and Leicesters charmed existence will end next Saturday two wins and all will be well. This will go down as the season of two halves.
  3. Why set up at home v Bournemouth as if we are playing away at Spuds. I give up this is nuts; seriously fearing for Jose as Rom may well give it the old thumbs down. Personally I back Jose; the players are the problem. I take it back to the Bradford City FA Cup game last season. We stopped believing in ourselves pretty much after that.
  4. Sometimes when you lose your way;you have to find a way to play and we did today. The false 9 worked well and we have the players to effect this strategy. Hazard tried everything to make it work and our chasing down and running at the Spurs players never let up. Pedro worked hard and had his best game for us so far while Fab-Oscar-Willian were tireless in supporting Hazard. The defence was defiant and Begovic was solid. Costa had to have a strop even though he never crossed the line. Regardless Jose was rightly pleased with the team and felt we deserved more. But we found a way to play and I think we will see more of this in future. Nice run of games coming up and what 12 pts off 4th place ? incredibly we are far from out of things. 2-3 re-enforcements in January and everything is possible in this league.
  5. Great point Emalano never trusted this fella; who failed as a player himself; yet he seems to have a say in the recruitment policy. Any recruitment policy thats has seen 34 recruited young players parked here there and everywhere abroad rather than those players pressing claims for a first team place is failing in its task. Not one of the 34 good enough; but I hear they all keep in touch on WhatsApp? or something. Emalano can jog on for me: useless.
  6. What strikes me with this Chelsea team is; we can have all the ball; pass and counter pass and it all just breaks down in front of goal. Sometimes you need to mix it up and hit the early ball. But even for that to have effect; your front man has to do more than Costa; just snarling around the opposition centre half; trying to wind them up. Yet having no attempts on goal in the whole game to call of. For me Costa is showing form here; that got him loaned out to the Liga2 in Spain. Most people would have gone for Costa; had they wanted to sign a striker and had the money to do so. Like most would have gone for Sheva; and Torres too; but sometimes you have to be a bit more savvy and take a punt on a Jamie Vardy or a Charlie Austin. If the latter for example was fit and available in the January would consider him; least you get someone who wants to actually play football rather than snarl around for 90mins. He even managed to get involved with a steward; admitted it was nothing but he still ends up getting involved with that rather than getting involved doing what he should be doing; sticking the ball in the net. No qualms about the shift the others put in; but all that passing around forwards; backwards; sideways any which way; you sometimes have to say sod it get in the mixer. Then its back to Costa; who on this showing needs someone up top with him if he cannot manage it himself.
  7. Cap-H-ello thrown his hat in; if he turned up that would be a serious test of resolve. Rather see Jose turn this around a far more interesting watch; than than under Italys Postman Pat look-a-like.
  8. You make a great point; where is Pedro ? Whats he done since he arrived for £19m with a great reputation as a cultured player at the culture club Barca. I believe he was not fit v Liverpool; but if fit Tues I would play him and lets get a performance out of him. How about Begovic Azi Cahill Zouma Azi Cesc Matic Ram Pedro Costa Willian I agree with posters here we need a result from this game. When you see the likes of Everton slamming 6 in; it makes you stand back in some sort of wonder; that seems out of reach at Chelsea right now.
  9. Your not wrong here any attempts to generate an "old school"atmosphere at Chelsea evaporates partly for this reason; the tourist crowd do not know the songs for one. Seen efforts my own included fall on bemused ears all too often. If they cannot even mumble along to "one man went to mow" your screwed basically. Need a drum or two and the "choir" congregated in a designated area as they do in Germany and dare I say it Palace!. I look back at the good old days (yeap there I go again) and long for a return to the mass standing in the Shed and the heart pumping !. Them wert daze.
  10. So the Ultimate Special One is a Chelsea fan too;time for some devine intervention then.
  11. Putting innuendo; and jokes aside; we will never know how much Evas departure has impacted on the psyche of the players. Ok she had no impact on the team or tactics; but I think she held a certain hold over them and they miss her. To them its probably along the lines of a breavement; that and the departure of Cech. Petr was a commanding figure on and off the field. I think some might need councilling daft as it sounds.
  12. I have acknowledged this point as a valid one. I was just giving myself and others a reminder of how this was a normal Saturday feeling for a Chelsea fan back then. We have had a great ride; needed to strengthen resolve; stick with Jose and see this out. Look at the up coming games and find a way to win them.
  13. And I take your totally valid point XF
  14. If you were a fan in the late 70-80s now you may understand what it used to feel like following Chelsea. So personally I can take this and 100% Jose is the man to lead us out of this.
  15. For Christ's sake; listened to this and the players clearly put in a shift for Jose; and its down to pens and knew Eden would fluff it. Good commentary on Five Live; Trevor Sinclair a knowledgeable summariser. Got to get up for Saturday v Liverpool; and move on; just listen to the histrionics now about Jose's future. Personally after the teams performance tonight he should not be any less secure at least.
  16. I agree with this; cut out the supply to Benteke so the full back selection is important. Sure that Ramires could could do the right back role with Azi left. Also with you that Mikel holds centre; and Oscar in there too.
  17. Honest I have not been as nervous about Chelsea since I was a kid back in the 70s. Then you went into every game knowing we had good players but which Chelsea was going to turn up?. Like 1972 LC Final v Stoke ! We had the better players but they won the day. Jose has got to get back to the football; put a team out that will battle for him. This has been a difficult period; but all great managers have them; and come through; even Fergie faced the bullet!. Its a test but one Jose can manage.
  18. Anybody on here remember following Chelsea in the late 70s-80s ? if you can you should be able to deal with our current woes. Have a look at the up coming games; we can put things right for sure.
