In fairness, I would rather them voice their opinions first rather than them bandwagoning on here after a loss. At least it would be consistent, the only thing is, we should be able to call them out on their bull sh*t after the game.

Did you miss my earlier post? Look at the goals per minutes. Even if you take away the Sevilla game Giroud still has the superior goal to minutes stat compared to the other two.

That was mostly due to an abysmal first touch he made, he was practically kicking himself for that you could see the frustration. Because he controlled the ball extremely well in a very tough area but then made a first touch like Lukaku and had to make the foul since he gave it to a player in a dangerous area. I don't blame him for the foul he made so much, it was mostly the terrible touch he did on the edge of the box. Kovacic has a tendency to overplay it and always plays it out from the back. Most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I completely agree, and I don't want to make this a battle of "my striker is better than yours" even though I think comparisons are appropriate. There are good valid reasons why Tammy has been playing as much as he has, he's a good striker with a lot of potential. The more games the better he will become, he still hasn't hit his prime. However, the numbers after last game are changing drastically. Girouds goals to minutes conversion can't be ignored, he should be playing more in the Premier League. I think it's time to play Giroud more and Abraham less. But that also doesn't mean Abraham stops playing. It's going to get more difficult now with Pulisic back, but if anyone should be behind Werner, I think it has to be Giroud, and depending on how well Werner does in the strikers role, you could argue Giroud should be our current number 1.

Just look at that. Look at the minutes. Giroud actually has a great conversion rate at Chelsea, his games to goals ratio isn't very good that's because his caps are inflated with 90th minute apperances. But he's got 6 goals in 3 games if you measure the time to games. It looks like we have no choice but to have to start playing Giroud more, he's clearly still operating at a high enough level and him leaving the club would be awful I think. I know this could hinder Abrahams potential but the numbers don't lie, Giroud statistically is our best forward. Although we haven't seen Werner enough in the pure striker role yet.

Honestly, Lampard deserves his own personal trophy for getting a top 4 finish with Kepa as his goalkeeper last season.

It's looking more and more the case that Kepa was the main culprit last season. I don't think it's just Mendy though, I think there are multiple factors but Mendy is no doubt the main one for sure. Perhaps with Kepa in goal the defence just completely lost their confidence? I know at times when we used to really control games, you would have a moment where Zaha would try his luck from far out and BOOM, they score, Palace gain confidence, and it's game on when we were already 2-0 up. That happened quite a lot, a Kepa error lead to a goal and it gave the other team belief. It's not the case anymore thank god.

Our form has been unreal since Mendy came, have we really even lost a game besides the Spurs one in the cup? It's not just the results though it's the performances. We absolutely batter teams, I have no doubt we'll hit a stop gap at some point, that's always the case, but I'm still impressed. Lampard is doing a fantastic job so far. This is the same bloke who I said wouldn't be in the job for longer than 4 or 5 months. I believe I said he would've been gone by November in his first season.

Before this game I wasn't that confident believe it or not. I thought we escaped it against Rennes, it was quite an even game that one. Didn't expect this result though at all, I thought it would've been a draw or a 2-1 win. They didn't trouble us much at all besides maybe the last 10 minutes of the first half, once the 2nd went in, it was game over.

No animosity in the squad at all I reckon. Tammy has a good attitude and is a great professional, even when he kicked up a bit of a fuss about the penalty situation at Palace, he listened to his captain and walked away (strikers instinct, nothing wrong with wanting to take the pen after having no luck in front of goal). So to see him go over to Giroud like that even though that game alone can minimise his game time this season is a great attitude. I just hope he can learn a lot from Giroud, Tammy definitely has time on his side. The good thing about Abraham is that he doesn't seem to go on goal droughts, he does usually always find his way to grabbing a goal every now and then.

Couldn't agree more, sublime ball to Giroud, something he needs to do more. There were a few moments when he had an opportunity to shoot and either hesitated then shot or tried to overplay it instead. Really lacks those attacking midfielder instincts at times. But he definitely has a future here I reckon, he's a good option to have. I still can't fathom how some people on this forum still don't rate him, on his day he's absolutely quality.

I still think we should go with Werner in the middle against Leeds. But Giroud has to play more now for sure.

I did a bit, but I have nothing against Abraham. I just pointed out the contrast between them. I think out of the two Giroud is so much more clinical. But it was nice to see Abraham go over and give him a hug after those 4 goals.

The good thing is, Giroud's game has never been about pace, it's strikers like Aubameyang that will really decline once they start losing their pace. Whereas Giroud has never had to rely on it, so all his qualities are still there.

Ridiculous... I knew it, he only had 3 chances and scored all 3 of them, that 2nd goal was an absolute beauty of a finish. The contrast of this performance compared to Abraham of Spurs. (Sorry, I had to bring it up) but hopefully this is what gives Werner and Tammy a kick up the ass for the chances those two keep missing.

Nope, unreliable, him and Alonso. To be nit picky, he gave a 34 year old Navas all the space in the world against one of the most one dimensional wingers/fullbacks a guy who always crosses no matter what. He has had a good game though don't get me wrong, but we should be looking to offload him still.

The best part is, Giroud has literally only had about 3 chances, he's been clinical as f**k. This is what Tammy and Werner need to learn from.
