Games like this should carry a health warning. Love the fact that Sky can't handle us beating their beloved Man Utd. How that cretin Fletcher got through 90 minutes without getting booked I do not know, there must be some unwritten rule where he's immune.

We're struggling against a decidedly average looking and weakened Man Utd team and it looks like the players are getting frustrated which is leading to the misplaced passes in the final third. We need to get at them early in the second half and put them to the sword, hopefully with Joey on for Deco (who's been far too light weight today).

True, though Lyon look decidedly average at best which makes it all the more amusing that they beat Liverpool at Anfield.

Hopefully Man Utd will be as woeful against us as they were today.

So many good performances tonight but it's Joey that gets my vote, he was full of guile and style and slotted into the new system perfectly.

No real complaints from the first half, I just feel we're being a little too ponderous when on the attack which is allowing them to get players behind the ball, if we increase the tempo we'll rip them to shreds as was shown with the goal.

It had to be Kalou didn't it. :D Let's hope he kicks on in the second half.

Can't say I'm happy to see Kalou's name on the team sheet, talk about being rewarded for mediocrity (or less than), but seeing as it appears Carlo is loath to play Sturridge it was a no brainer that he would start tonight.

Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Carlo has to shoulder a lot of the blame for todays performance, totally devoid of a plan B and waiting until 82 minutes to bring on Joey was criminal also why have Zhirkov on the bench if you're not willing to use him.

Bravo for leaving out Hargreaves and Heskey. :D My squad would be the same, although I'd rather Beckham not go to the World Cup but it doesn't appear that anyone is going to usurp his place so we're stuck with him and all the hyperbole that surrounds with him.

To paraphrase Han Solo, "I've got a bad feeling about this match". On current form a loss could easily be on the cards but I've got faith in the players and they must surely know this is a must win game and I think we will win, 2-1.

Nobody stood out tonight, so Ash gets my vote for being the best of a bad bunch. It would be interesting if we did a worst player vote, hmmm I wonder who would win most weeks... cough Kalou cough. ;)

Considering the opposition that was one of the worst performances I've seen from Chelsea. Tonight showed again that we rely far too much on Drogba, without him in the team we look toothless and predictable. Too many players shrunk out there tonight against a third rate team, chief among them Kalou, how he managed to stay on for 80 minutes I do not know, his only contribution was getting booked.

Apart from Anelka's goal, that was an awful half of football. Nicosia are rubbish and we're not playing much better.

By the sounds of it Cech being suspended will be the least of our problems against Liverpool if we play as badly as we did today. As others have said, this is the time when Carlo and indeed the team have to deliver.

A totally embarrassing result. Losing to a team who haven't beaten a "top four" club in 34 games. Absolutely rubbish.

So we'll not have Cech for next weeks game against Liverpool, if I was Carlo I'd play Hilario on Wednesday night to give him more first team match practice.

Sadly that's par for the course for him this season.
