So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Just hope we give him as many tools as possible to succeed. There is clearly a much better working relationship and understanding between upper management and the coaching team this time around. Pochettino will be looking to try and win the league as soon as possible. Whilst acknowledging that this is a process/project (I know we are all tired of these buzzwords). To succeed though we will need to give him top tier talent whether that's unearthing gems or signing well known players who fit our squad and our playstyle. Either way the early signs are very promising! Will be curious to see if Pochettino can nab a win whilst Pep and Klopp are still here. However, if he can't hopefully we will be well placed to dominate the league once they leave.

Dusan Vlahovic
If Pochettino wants then I'm happy for us to sign him. I'm sure Pochettino has a plan and if this guy is in it so be it. Jackson has already shown himself to be good up top, who knows with his pace and technical skills, Pochettino could deploy him as a winger also and use this geezer as another number 9 option. I see potential in this deal, if managed right this could add another dimension to our squad. Add in the fact Lukaku would be gone and its pretty decent.

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
We have to move on now, embarrassing if we get another bid rejected. Its plain and simple Brighton have pulled our pants down on Cucurella, Potter and potentially some of their board members we sniped. They think we're mugs, how is it we can scout players like Jackson and sign them for £30m but can't do that for a DM. There are plenty of quality DMs, CMs who can play there and other hidden gems in world football. Time to move on

Paulo Dybala
He's been name dropped again by Enzo who says he sent him a text. Seems like quite a bit of smoke around this for some reason. Pochettino appreciates him, Thiago and Enzo want him here. He has a low buyout clause, he's coached by Mourinho and has that Chelsea connection also with Tammy there. Definitely wouldn't write this one off too early. Until he signs a new contract all bets are off

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Todd and Co have done a lot wrong, but to give them their credit there is also quite a few things they've got right. One being player sales great job by those running the club. Getting Pochettino in also a masterstroke. Now we need to build a Pochettino Chelsea side. One that is still dripping in Chelsea DNA, but also designed to work for Pochettino. I'm convinced if the owners back Pochettino and we are able to get the types of players be wants (ideally as many first choices as possible). We will be back.

Mason Mount
As a big fan of Mount I say let him go. £55m for a player with a year left is more than reasonable. Take the money and move on with our summer plans. No need to have players in the squad that don't want to be there. It's the reason everyone else is gone. Why should Mount be any different.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Anyone who seriously has Madeuke and Mudyrk to start over Sterling on the wing next season are even sorely disrespecting Sterling as a winger or and I mean this in the nicest way possible lack understanding of elite football. Both these wingers are raw, to think they would be more likely to have us back in top 4 than Sterling is just unrealistic. In terms of attackers the first names on Pochettino's teamsheet will be Nkunku and Sterling. They will either play either wing in a 433 or 4231 or Nkunku as a 10 and Sterling on the left or right. I understand some people don't like him but he finished top goalscorer I'm his worst season not that the bar was very high to be top goalscorer but let's be realistic.

Kai Havertz
Jokes aside, if the owners sell Kai to Arsenal you know he will explode under Arteta. The owners need to understand one crucial thing do not sell key players to domestic rivals and especially don't sell players with high potential to our rival team. Most people will argue Kai Havertz won't turn out as good as KDB or Salah because he's had more time to prove himself. Kai Havertz is a top footballer, inconsistent yes but he is very good. I'm not bias I'm talking purely from what I see with my eyes, disregard the positional debate (his best position) when he has a team, coach and manager that plays to his strengths and that's having an actual striker in the team to play with not called Lukaku you will see his best. Kai Havertz is a very misunderstood footballer no doubt a victim of his own versatility. If you want to see the best version of him look at the UCL final. He bossed Man City, it was an exceptional performance he played through Werner and Pulisic for 1 on 1s multiple times. This is what he is capable of creativity in high level games and decisive moments. Specifically though the goal is no mistake, game plan executed perfectly. Kai Havertz is what I like to call a ghost striker, some people may refer to that as striker support, a number 10 or a false 9. I think he combines all of these unique profiles. The reason I say ghost is because when he's not the centre of attention that's when he can attack the box to the best of his ability. The goal against City in which Timo was the (decoy) defenders main concern is a prime example. It meant Kai was given the space to attack and he took his chance. Late runs into the box, or quick transitions is when you see him at his best. Does he miss a lot of chances yes but so do all the elite players, Salah when he first came to Liverpool was missing loads but he always manged to score in the end. I still believe in him, if he's to be sold I would accept it like any other player he's not Eden Hazard don't get me wrong. Yet I promise you he will be a top player in the next 10 years which is why we signed him. We can't forget that players like him don't fully reach their level until 25-28 and sometimes slightly later. He's not a player that relies purely on his pace, it's more his intelligence and his natural ability as he's very technical.

Kai Havertz
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the price we would likely ask is €60m/£52m, however its important to note that this is the base fee and there will be add ons. With add ons the deal could include an additional €10-20m maybe potentially more. With 2 years left on his contract and some of his closest friends gone, it appears this will be the end of the Kai Havertz ~ Chelsea project. We didn't see the very best of him and he will likely go on to be the generational talent we were told he would be. Shades of Salah and KDB perhaps, people will say he got more time which he did and he won us a UCL and CWC. The difference here being we will get a good price if we do sell whereas for the two aforementioned players we got below value based on their potential and we still sold for profit.

Mason Mount
I have two theories for why things have become so muddied. 1. This is all just a ruse by Mount's camp and they're playing poker like how the big boys do it. Bluff leaving to get the best possible deal from the owners. Can't fault him for it if it's true Rooney did the same thing and actually used us and Jose to do it. He wouldn't be the first and he certainly wouldn't be the last. 2. He wants to leave because of a multitude of reasons, one being he doesn't like the project (sees the new owners as clowns), feels disrespected by their removal of a previously agreed deal. Wants a fresh challenge, wants a regular starting spot or even position on the field. Maybe e he just wants to play for the same coach (let's not forget since he broke through he's technically had 5 coaches and Pochettino would be the 6th if we include Lamps twice). Either way I'm very calm about the situation, love the lad but if he wants to leave I understand. The important thing from a Chelsea perspective is we refuse to negotiate. Either they meet the asking price (£70-80m) or no deal. Now as the windows moves along we could lower this but I don't see anything below £60m. This is good news for fans that want to keep Mason, no we won't hold him ransome because he only has a year left anyway. The board will give themselves as much time as possible with the new coach (who wants to keep him) in order to persuade him to stay.

Should be £35m mate from what I've heard

Kai Havertz
At least £85m/€100m to sign UCL and CWC winning goal scorer.
-
Kai Havertz
I would think very carefully about selling Kai, say what you want about the lad in terms of consistency but he does love the club. Scored one of the most important goals in the history of the club and is still at the age where he can kick on and really cement himself as a top class footballer. Kai actually looks like a Pochettino type of player, all he needs is regular work on his finishing because he has all the other attributes in his locker to play AM. Maybe Pochettino could have reinvented him as something else idk but I could have envisioned a scenario where Nkunku, Kai, Sterling and a world class number 9 formed a strong attacking front 4 in a 4231.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Imo James and Chilwell both offensively and defensively were immense from when Tuchel took over til when they got injured. Since then they haven't reached the same heights but tbf to them the whole team struggled. Chilwell and Rudiger had a solid partnership on the left as did Azpil and James. With the decline of Azpil I think we've needed to restructure the defense for a long while. Will be interesting to see if Pochettino can get us working in a back 4. Can he can get James and Chilwell performing at similarly high levels when they play fullback like when they played wingback.

Pochettino is the type of signing Abramovich would make so I'm happy with the appointment. It's no coincidence we've looked into and considered him for the role on at leat two previous occasions under the previous regime so hes highly regarded by the club. This is a very good coach, you don't get the Paris job if you're not highly regarded. You also don't get considered for Real Madrid if you're not a top level coach. On paper it's a perfect marriage, young talented squad and a seasoned top level coach who loves building a body of work with young players. With emphasis on developing them to reach their potential. All whilst playing attractive, successful attacking football. Alongside a balance of a good defense and high pressing work rate. For me though the biggest cherry on the top is when he wins a trophy with us, it's the biggest flex on Spurs. If Jose and Antonio can't win silverware with Tottenham, but Pochettino can win with Chelsea. It says so much about the two clubs that I don't even need to elaborate further.

2 years with a club option for a 3rd year. Seems smart hopefully does well in first year and we can build towards a title charge in his 3rd season. I would be happy with a top 6 finish next season, then hopefully win Europa League and make top 4 in his second season topped off by a title push in the 3rd. Optimistic and hopeful yes, but definitely plausible and do able with the right recruitment and if Pochettino is a good of a coach as some of us believe

Also need a world class keeper, Kepa and Mendy have had their good moments, but I don't think any of our fans are completely sold on either. We could really do with some quality. Apparently we're linked to Navas and I'd say go for it he's quality.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Lots of reasons for optimism with Pochettino, Nkunku hitting the ground running along with a proper striker and Sterling back firing and the attack looks good. The defense is already decent and given proper structure should flourish. The biggest area for improvement is midfield which has lacked creativity for far too long. We need new energy and a proper DM and another CM would go a long way to getting us challenging the top places in the league. Surround Enzo with a player of the similar ability level but in a more defensive role and we will have a great engine room.

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
A former Chelsea player wins a former Chelsea coach the Bundesliga. Shame we couldn't keep both at the club, especially Musiala. I do think that Pochettino is a better fit for the new owners style and aspirations. Just hope we can make it as easy as possible for him to succeed.

I hear you mate, but it comes down to due diligence. You can't do what Boehly and Co did this past year. No other clubs would dream of doing half the decisions. I can't understand how anyone could expect us to improve after the January window with so many new players. Effectively every week we had a different lineup the gaffer doesn't know who to play because he has two teams. I'm not a big fan of Potter's time here, but I'll admit the owners essentially set him up to fail. From hiring him at such a random time even though they wanted him from before. Why not just do it in the summer and let him build the squad? I think the players will always share a big load of the blame, but I would expect any other team to do the exact same thing under these circumstances. Whilst hindsight is 20/20 I think a lot of the decisions were called out at the time for what they were which is erratic. I'm happy to cut the management slack since it's their first year, but for me the point of that analysis wasn't to be overly negative and use hindsight it was rather to illustrate from my perspective that the players themselves should be absolved of a certain level of blame. These were very unfavourable conditions for a professional to perform in my honest opinion.

Reasons for optimism
Perhaps but I think we will all be happy provided he's nowhere near Pochettino's new project and the way it's looking this seems more likely that he won't be now as opposed to a couple of weeks ago based on reports. I'm sure we will know more nearer to the time, but I'm optimistic we will get the right striker in the summer and Lukaku will be long gone.

The point remains we don't have the right make up/balance in our squad we're overloaded in AMs, wingers but not enough if any proper number 9s. At the end of the day they chose to build the squad this way both during the summer window and the winter. So yes I do blame them, the players we're complaining about should as professional footballers know how to score yet if they're prolific goalscorers or strikers why would you expect them to be scoring regularly that's not their role in the team.

Reasons for optimism
Inter have seemed to change their approach on Lukaku after originally saying they wouldn't have him again next season. Apparently his agent is putting pressure on us to pay more of his wage to Inter. I'm hoping that they just buy him in the summer, but the fact another loan is now a possibility meaning he won't be around here is good news for all. Pochettino can find a new striker

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Quietly confident with this appointment, I'm sure Pochettino is an intelligent man and has asked for certain assurances. There shouldn't be anywhere near the amount of interference from Boehly and Co next season. A settled pre season, where we identify key targets I would assume reasonable players we are actually likely to get who fit Pochettino's style. What a lot of people seem to be forgetting is as bad of a season we've had he will arguably have a bigger point to prove than the players. It's his second big appointment I won't count Spurs, he won at PSG but there's always been questions from pundits and rival fans about his ability as a coach despite winning in France. Some see his time as a flop there and point to his lack of trophies at Spurs. I'm sure he knows that despite the new vision this is still a club where there is an expectation to win. I think he sees this job as a combination of the Spurs and Paris job it's a comfortable mid ground between success and building a long-term project. It's an ideal situation for a coach like him. He's proven that he can compete with the best managers in the world. I would expect a top 6 finish next season if he gets the players he needs. At the very minimum this is a Europa League team with a 20 goal a season striker.
