bacik reacted to Argo in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCNo doubt I'll get people calling me out saying I'm trying to defend Clearlake, I'm not they've made things worse no arguments there, but this has been a cocktail a decade in the making. Now don't get this twisted I appreciate Roman for what he done for this club at the start and how he kept the winning culture here even when we were sh*t but the way we were being run in the last ten years has contributed to us falling so far off the pace domestically.
It started when we scraped the 'long term project' to give Mourinho a quick title losing the eventual two best PL players in the process (which is why I absolutely cant on this earth understand why anyone wants Jose back now we're going or atleast trying to go down a similar route, do we learn nothing?) Then after the ultimate sticky plaster of 16/17 let Conte load the squad with some serious rubbish (don't give me this nonsense that Bakayoko, Morata, Zappacosta etc were forced on him, as we saw with Michy and Spence if Conte didn't want them he wouldn't have played them).
Then the next mistake was not letting Sarri continue his work. People can bang on about how "boring" the football was as much as they like but as we have seen at Napoli and are now with Lazio it's a sustainable approach where the effects of his training can last even after he's gone (infact I think that's the reason Lampards first season went as well as it did).
Then it was not cashing in on the academy talent, we literally had our own class of 92 a few years back and Mount/James aside we squandered it. One thing ill give the ownership with the Colwill news and the Pochettino appointment is we do seem to have learned from that one.
Then after the UCL under Tuchel despite all the errors made before we had the basis of a bonafide elite system where the pressing, interplay and movement had even City chasing shadows and what do we do? Add probably the most unsuitable player on the planet to play that system for £97m, oh and let the contracts of two key defenders run down.
Then ofcourse there's the mistakes last summer on new ownership, we should have signed Fofana (and if we had enough time to gazump Benfica Enzo) and left it at that until we had the team in.
I do think despite all that this is fixable but fans will have to accept a process, if most/all the underlying metrics are pointing to sustainable progress under Pochettino then leave him be regardless of results, that's not only on the owners but the match going fans aswell, no "f**k Pochettino ball" if we're 7th and not playing the most enthralling football.

bacik got a reaction from KonaKai Blue in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerSure buddy, like he didnt cost us games against City, Spurs, Fulham and now Everton as well. This guy costs us so many games over the years and continues to do so. Almost cost us the game against Leicetser as well if not for the goal line clearance...
-
Of course he's going to have some important saves, but he is nowhere near reliable enough for a top six club. He's been here ages now and he still cant command his 6yd box and his wrists are still as strong as a wet paper bag.
-
That same keeper bailed us out in multiple games, if it wasn't for Kepa finding his form this season Potter's league record would be even more dismal
-
bacik reacted to Bob stark in Joao FelixAgree, the guy is a joy to watch. His game is very silky with tons of flair. You can easily argue he is our most talented attacker since Hazard.
But when you have him and murdyk on the same field it was a horror show.

bacik reacted to axman2526 in Joao FelixThat was a near Bakayoko level first half performance. We would have routed Leicester if he did the basics right.
Instead of getting his head up and playing Mudryk in for a tap in, he is selfish a misses. Instead of keeping his head up and watching the line he goes early and a beautiful team goal is chalked off.
Instead of doing things simply he does party tricks by our own box and costs us a goal.
127mill for him? No way near that so far imo

bacik reacted to GarnachoCheese in Joao FelixEven at Atletico for all those years he never impressed that much though, signing a player that might never live up to the price tag

bacik reacted to ducavis in Joao FelixJust last night? He has been piss poor for me, and a luxury player we need to stay far from.

bacik reacted to nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerIndeed - the whole outpouring from a selection of users here for Tuchel is amusing.
If the performances themselves were not justification enough for his sack (which in my opinion they were), then the abrasive behaviour and off the field reasons should be.
I accept that we do not yet (and likely never will) know the full story - but the fact that....
1) TT has sought an injunction to stop the details being released.
2) the court case in germany had to be held behind closed doors due to the nature of the issues
3) newspapers are unwilling or unable to print the details due to legal issues
....all points to there being a significant, potentially reputation damaging event that has occurred.
Simon Jordan alluded to as much months ago, and basically said Boehly had little option but to fire TT.
We are better off without the circus that would have followed had we kept him.

Has Conte taken Tottenham backwards? He got them their first top 4 finish in 3 years, and they're currently in the top 4 now as well.
Conte took Chelsea from 10th to a league title, Juventus from 7th to 3 league titles in a row, and Inter from 9th to a league title, breaking the Juventus domination he starterd. The fact that he's failling at Tottenham says more about Tottenham than it does about him in my opinion, but I agree, long live the rot 🙏

bacik got a reaction from dkw in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerNot for the better? Ever since Sarri came and we focused more on possession, we havent been competitive in the league once. We are still suffering from it, passing the ball endlessly.. Before he came, we played fast and direct football..

bacik got a reaction from nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerWhat? Lampard spend most of his time trying to undo Sarris safety first approach. We played nothing like Sarri, we played fast, direct football not slow possession give it to Hazard and inshallah football we played under Sarri He even dropped Jorginho.

bacik reacted to GarnachoCheese in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerI think the fact Brighton are the only 'small team' that can play in a similar way to City, Chelsea, Utd etc. according to that graph is impressive
-
bacik reacted to nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerFor every stat like that you give (3rd highest goals etc) - I can give you 100+ posts on here of fans who were frustrated and angry at the style of play.
The eyes don't lie.
For a long time under Tuchel - we were playing awful, negative , passive football. He showed nothing (with consistency) that he could, or wanted, to change that.
-
Wow. Unbelievable. I had to read that twice. The revisionism rolls on unabated. Sarri "tasked with changing the entire philosophy and culture of the club"!! I'd laugh, but you seem naieve enough to actually believe that. I'm 100% sure Roman never brought that up as a key objective at the job interview. And even if he had, you do realise Sarri could have stayed don't you? He didn't have to leave. If he loved being HERE, he could have toughed it out with no Hazard and a transfer ban, instead focusing on his alleged mission statement to realise said "change in philosophy and culture".
Perhaps the fans might have taken to him more then.

bacik reacted to The Rising Sun in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerPasses per sequence ?
Means nothing by itself .
A sequence of 3 passes going sideways is different to a sequence of 3 passes going forward.
Or am I missing something with this graph?
-
bacik reacted to nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerWe were nothing like that under Tuchel - save for a few special occasions (real madrid game for example).
In general we were slow, insipid and unimaginative under TT.
-
bacik reacted to nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerOh just - why let reality get in the way of a good agenda and unhealthy amount of spin?
Look forward to this time in 2 years, when people will be trying to get us believe that Jorginho was a defence splitting assist machine.
The summary of all this is really simple.
We have been playing 'boring, unprogressive sh*t' for years. That has been diluted by the fact that despite playing 'boring, unprogressive sh*t', we have still won trophies and sneaked into the top 4 regularly. The only time we were not playing 'boring, unprogressive sh*t'' was during Lamps era - but that came at the expense of no defence. And revenue that didn't last - because when the pressure came, he also reverted to the 'boring, unprogressive sh*t' we saw before (and after) him.
Sure there has been games here and there when we have looked ok, or even good....but it has never lasted long, and the short term nature of our planning over the last x years has crippled our ability to reset, and move away from the 'boring, unprogressive sh*t'.
Now is a chance to do that.
Again I am still not convinced Potter is the man - but by backtracking now, we risk further exposure to longer term 'boring, unprogressive sh*t'.
'boring, unprogressive sh*t' (TM)

Sarriball original ideas Dean? You obviously never saw the Rinus Michels Ajax team of the 1970's. It was where the phrase "Total Football" comes from!
So much revisionism about our year of Sarriball occurs on here IMO. Most of the time the football was boring to the point of being sleep inducing, with some players openly admitting they were confused by his training methods and weren't clear on what he was trying to achieve. That's hardly surprising IMO as he never came across as a charismatic personality and fluent communicator. And then of course there is also the fact that the football and the players he made successful in Serie A may not have been such a good fit in the much faster, higher tempo EPL. Gonzalo Higuain anybody?
Also agree with @Blueboys. I too did not see this alleged big improvement towards the end of his reign. The last 5 games of the season only saw us win one game. That run included a 2-2 home draw with Burnley! We got 3rd place because Tottenham and Arsenal imploded, rather than our Sarriball reaching new heights.
-
bacik reacted to Bob stark in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerSarri fans don't understand how Sarriball works.
If you do, you would not be surprised why he lasted only one season with juve
-
bacik reacted to nonotnowjim in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerAll the talk on here with people jerking off over Sarri and Tuchel makes me laugh. People have short memories. Look back at some of the posts during either eras, and you will see how frustrated the bulk of the fans were at both managers at times.
Both Sarri and TT (and lamps towards the end) had us playing some of the worst, unimaginative, boring and unprogressive football that has ever been served up at the bridge.
The risk averse nature of their football (pass back and keep possession rather than look for a defence splitting through ball) was mind numbing. In my opinion, that negative, play it safe, mindset is a big reason for our continued current struggles. The players always had an excuse not to try their best and unlock a defence. Always had an excuse to take the easy backwards option. And we have continued to see that recently. Our signing of a new team will hopefully help get out that mindset - although I remain unconvinced that Potter will allow the new players to release the handbreak. But regardless of whether potter is a success or failure - it doesn't change anything about Sarri or TT, and we shouldn't rewrite history to suggest that the football under either of them was champagne. It was mostly dross.

bacik reacted to Sconnie Blue in Kai HavertzHasn't that already been done? Bar a hattrick against Barnsley, when have we ever seen Havertz do well partnered with a ST/CF?
For every good thing he does (create a decent chance) he will ruin it by doing a bad thing (missing a chance/losing the ball). His value to the team is zero, and we have seen no development in 3 years.

bacik got a reaction from GarnachoCheese in Joao FelixMy opinion on the rest is that they are the same level of sh*t. Felix has done more? How exactly? First match, he f**ked us over with his red card, then he had 1 goal, and thats about it, Took plenty of shots, almost all of them right at the keeper. Just because he has a few dribbles means nothing to me. He is simply not productive enough and never was except for 1 season in portuguesse league.
