But didn't they regenerate the area around the stadium and upgrade Wrigley Field...all that costs money and will need to be offset in someway?

Why though? I really don't get this whole no to ricketts campaign, We don't even know the details of the bids.... If we get Boehly and he turns out to be like the Glazers then we'll be f***ed. I want what's best fo the club, all this talk of protests etc is just lunacy!!!

I've always wondered if Roman was to sell half of the club, would we still be part of sanctions then, if for example an American owned 50%?

I'd add Mbuyamba, Gilmour, Vale and Maatsen to that list in the next couple of seasons.

This must be a joke, historically i'd agree Arsenal were a bigger club, but they've won 6 league titles since the 70/71 season, that's 50 years ago.... they are no longer bigger than us... it's a fact... no League title since 2004... a gap of 18 years now.... come on let's be realistic, it's like saying Aston Villa are bigger than us because they won five league titles in the 1800's, football moves on. You cannot consider Arsenal to be in the same bracket as us now...yes they may have the Fan base and win the odd cup but look at their league title winning seasons below. Winners (13): 1930–31, 1932–33, 1933–34, 1934–35, 1937–38, 1947–48, 1952–53, 1970–71, 1988–89, 1990–91, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04 Yes they have won the FA Cup 14 times, but so what, i'd swap 14 FA cups for 1 European Cup let alone 2!!!!!

What's the point in having a governing body in the FA and Premier League if they can't manage the club in the interim until the ownership is sorted, all proceeds from ticket sales, merchandise etc go to one of these bodies and they pay the wages of the players and deal with the finances and expenditure until a new owner comes in. We are a member of the FA and Premier League and they should be doing all they can to help in the current situation.

I agree, just because there is one in the family doesn't mean they all are, we are acting like the media have been with us recently, by saying the club and fans should suffer just because Roman was the owner... swings in roundabouts.. I for one, think they are in the running. Personally, i think all of the prospective buyers pitches should be made public so the fans can see what they have to say.... Broughton hasn't disclosed where the money is coming from or who is financing his bid.... None of us know what any of these owners are like apart from what we read in the media and all we can go on is their previous track record if they already own a sports franchise or businesses... As for whether someone paid towards a political campaign in America, isn't that part and parcel of being mega rich over there... obviously whoever is spouting that nonsense isn't a republican. I think it's good they are making the trip across to speak to the fans, it shows they are serious about owning us and want to reassure the fans of their plans etc.

I'm not sure about the Broughton bid, he's been talking far too much recently, like he's trying to gain favour, We don't even know where the money is coming from with his bid, i saw an interview with Sky Sports News the other day and he seemed very cagey in disclosing the information.

Conor Gallagher
Anyone else think he should be allowed to play against us in the FA Cup Semi and pit himself against our current midfield, be a good indicator of his development this season!

Pick your all-time 11 from the Abramovich era
Whilst eagerly awaiting some transfer news last night, hoping to plug the glaringly obvious gaps within the squad it got me thinking about who would I have from bygone days in the current 11. My choices are quite damning to the team now I must say... Be keen to know other fans thoughts. Cech James Carvalho Terry Cole Kante Essien Lampard Robben Drogba Hazard Subs:. Mendy, J.Cole, Rudiger, Silva, Chilwell, Costa, Mount That's without Fabregas, Ballack, Ramires, Anelka, Carvalho, Makalele, Alex and dare I say good old Kalou

Chelsea v Spuds (PL) Sun 23rd Jan 2022 16:30 GMT
I'd go 4-3-3 for this one, try Havertz behind Lukaku with Werner down the left and mount and Havertz interchanging Kepa Dave Silva Rudiger Sarr Kante Kovacic Havertz Mount Lukaku Werner Wish we had someone who would take the game by the scruff of the neck and drive the team forward when the chips are down...no one is vocal anymore and gets amongst the players, all too often it's the manager who's shouting from the touchline, there are no leaders in the dressing room anymore

Brighton v Chelsea (PL) Tue 18th Jan 2022 20:00 GMT
Agreed, Wasn't it Tuchel who was adamant at the beginning of the season he only wanted 21 squad players? I vaguely remember him saying we had too many players, I'm a big fan of his and think he is definitely the one to take us forward, but you can' t be moaning about tiredness when our squad isn't big enough...if the players are tired, sign some bloody replacements where we need them and bring in reinforcements where we need them as soon as possible....we should of been working on bringing in replacements for Chilwell and James as soon as they were injured, we're now under two weeks away from the close of the window and all we've seen again is rumours and nothing concrete... It seems we need a clear out in the summer and a big rethink on our approach...this lazy winter football we see every year is draining on us fans that have to watch this, how can the players be tired, regardless of howany games the team has played individually the most appearance makers are probably Rudiger and Mount and they've barely played 20 games all season...it's an excuse, I think there is dressing room unrest and factions forming within the group again...

Brighton v Chelsea (PL) Tue 18th Jan 2022 20:00 GMT
I'd go 4-2-3-1 for this one KEPA AZPI, SILVA, RUDIGER, SARR JORGINHO, KOVACIC CHO, MOUNT, WERNER HAVERTZ We need to stop with the 5 at the back against teams we should be beating and go for it... Teams expect us to have possession and slow transitional play...we need to have a certain unpredictability about our game..

Brighton v Chelsea (PL) Tue 18th Jan 2022 20:00 GMT
Agreed, we need to find some sort of understanding between the front players, most of the squad play 1 game a week with the exception of maybe Rudiger and Mount, the rest are constantly being rotated... We need to find the right balance within the squad and stick with a set 11 and rotate when necessary...no more looking to keep big names happy and give them game time if the can't find a pass to break the lines or keep making poor decisions when in the final third...

Man City v Chelsea (PL) Sat 15th Jan 2022 12:30 GMT
I Agree totally, I genuinely do not think Lukaku's movement is good enough and Ziyech doesn't suit the formation, I'm also not sure why we constantly play with a back five when not every game needs it....we know the wingbacks available are not good enough for this type of game where city will dominate possession and use the pace of sterling etc...so why not suprise them and go with a 4-2-3-1 or something...you can still have your 2 deep lying midfielders and Azpi offers so much more as a conventional RB... Use Sarr as LB and mount in the middle of the 3 up top... With lukaka as the focal point...it was a must win game and we should be taking the game to them not sitting in hoping to hit them on the counter with the wrong personnel for that type of game.

Man City v Chelsea (PL) Sat 15th Jan 2022 12:30 GMT
We just seem to be lacklustre up top, I am a massive fan of Tuchel, but we need a consistent front three week in week out, it's all well and good bemoaning lack of chances, the final ball being rubbish, but no amount of training will give that understanding the front players need unless in game time, For me we should have started Mount, Werner and Havertz, I know Tuchel is sometimes too cautious with bringing players back from injury or COVID etc and states in his pressers they've only had one training session with us, but you start with your strongest three from the off and I don't think the three today were that... We need reinforcements and fast, get rid of Ziyech he's offered nothing since he's been here, get in a LWB and RWB with a bit of pace. If we're not careful we could quite easily slip out of the top 4.... and it will be down to not being clinical enough!

Erling Haaland
I don't agree, if he did sign he would have run down his contract and gone for free...look at Mbappe at PSG now with 1 year left and no intention of resigning...how much did they pay for him.?
