February 1, 20224 yr Whilst eagerly awaiting some transfer news last night, hoping to plug the glaringly obvious gaps within the squad it got me thinking about who would I have from bygone days in the current 11. My choices are quite damning to the team now I must say... Be keen to know other fans thoughts. Cech James Carvalho Terry Cole Kante Essien Lampard Robben Drogba Hazard Subs:. Mendy, J.Cole, Rudiger, Silva, Chilwell, Costa, Mount That's without Fabregas, Ballack, Ramires, Anelka, Carvalho, Makalele, Alex and dare I say good old Kalou
February 1, 20224 yr Cech Ivanovic Cahill JT Cole Maka Kante Lampard Hazard Gudjohnson Drogba 4 diamond 2 to fit the players in.
February 1, 20224 yr Assuming everyone at their peak, I will go with a 433. Ivanovic Thiago JT Ashley Essien Kante. Lampard Hazard. Drogba. Salah Subs: Carvalho, Crespo, ballack, fabregas, Robben, KDB
February 2, 20224 yr Cech Cole Carvalho JT Ivanovic Mikel Essien Lampard Kanté Drogba Hazard Edited February 2, 20224 yr by DidierDrogbalala

February 2, 20224 yr Cech Thiago Terry Carvalho J.Cole Lampard Kante A.Cole Robben Drogba Hazard Subs: Mendy, Ivanovic, Makelele, Essien, Duff, Costa, Cesc Cheated a bit a shoehorned it into a back three as i think Carvalho just edges Ivanovic. Honourable mentions for the likes of Ballack and Anelka.
February 2, 20224 yr Manager: Ancelotti, 4-3-3: Cech Azpilicueta T.Silva Terry A.Cole Makelele Kante Lampard Pedro Hazard Drogba Subs: Mendy, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Jorginho, Deco, Anelka, D.Costa.

Yeah it should be an all time XI but tbf maybe all of our best players came in the Roman era. I'd be interested to know who outside of the Roman era could break in, maybe Zola for some.

I only saw early 90s onwards so i am only talking that timeframe but for me Lampard, Terry and possibly Gallas from both eras but talking strictly pre Roman then just Zola. To pluck some examples there's no point pretending Di Matteo was better than Lampard, Cudicini was better than Cech or Flo was better than Drogba because it simply isn't true. Jimmy Greaves is the stand out player pre Roman.

Maybe, but what about Tambling, Bentley and Dixon, they all outscored Osgood, it's impossible task deciding who was best from that lot.
February 2, 20224 yr Are we taking into account only each players time at Chelsea or are we meaning their entire career? Cech | James Terry T. Silva A. Cole | Makelele Ballack Lampard | J. Cole Drogba Hazard Subs: Ivanovic, Carvalho, Kante, Diego Costa, Mendy, Essien, Robben If we are doing their entire careers, I probably would include Torres and drop Costa. But if it is just their time at Chelsea: I would drop Thiago 😥 and replace him with Cahill in the squad, but even though Thiago has been here a short period of time... man he's been immense
February 2, 20224 yr Bonetti, Harris, Mccreadie, Dempsey, Webb, Hollins, Baldwin, Houseman, Cooke, Hutchinson and Osgood. I get that we have signed some great players in Roman's time and won goodness knows how many trophies under his ownership but some great players joined before he took over. Including Lampard and JT. True, JT came through from the youth setup.

Another player from the pre-Roman arrival that could put up a fair fight for a spot in the starting lineup is Marcel Desailly, he was a mentor to Terry. Edited February 2, 20224 yr by Gol15
