Really is a crap shoot picking a team for this. I don't envy TT especially when picking the front players.

However this is what I would go with.

Kepa

Dave

Silva

Rudiger

Hall

Kante

Kovacic

Ziyech

Havertz

Werner

Lukaku

No perfect choices here. First question would be why Hall?

Because Alonsos form has dropped off a Cliff and Sarr has no out put offensively. I would sooner Hall gets the chance than Kenedy.

Why no Jorginho? Too many games, he is shot and needs a break. Starting here and including Plymouth.

Why Werner? Left forward was his main position for RBL. He is at his best when cutting in from the left, and neither CP or CHO have done enough to merit keeping that place of late.

Why Havertz? Like Werner the number 10 is said to be his best position. Mason was terrible at Brighton so give Kai a go here, see if him and Timo will pass to Rom. Timo knows all about not having the ball played to his run.

Why Ziyech? He is the only one willing to shoot from range, bar the row z busters from Kova and Toni. Again right forward is his main position, and again when played here CP and CHO have not been good.

Why Lukaku? Honestly just giving him more rope so he cannot say he is not played. Hopefully he gets lots of passes from this offence and then let's see, can he start to score or will he carry on being the sulky brat he has been since Brighton at home? I know what I believe but TT is stuck with him and let's see if this offence works, because the other combinations seem disinterested in working with Rom.

Not that I blame them being pissed at him if they are but it is not helping the team of TT.

After Salah, Sterling and Lamptey surely Alonso will get a rest against Spurs.

You would think. But who starts instead of him? Do we have any other players who have done OK as LWB? If we go to a back 4 I think Sarr could do a job as a traditional LB.

Given our awful run of form, a home defeat to Spurs just seems so obvious.

We have been playing pretty bad at home so it's a real possibility now...

I actually meant metaphorically, think if he was going to be rested it would have been yesterday.

For a wb with limited pace I think he has a lot of attributes, noticed he took a card when he saw Lamptey on a break from the corner when he saw Jorgy was the cover.

One of the issues he has is almost every attacker we have likes cutting in from the left and trying to shoot on their right, Ziyech excepted so attacking wise he is less visible unlike previous seasons.

I of course prefer Chilwell yet  I'm starting to think he might be half a season chap due to recurring injuries, hope I am wrong.

They may not beat us but they would need to be full on spursy to lose to us.

Watching the Leicester vs Spuds game. Spurs are moving the ball forward from winning back to an attack so quickly. Kane scored one, missed a sitter, they had one cleared off the line.

In triple the time it takes them to form an attack, we probably would have just finished passing from Jorgi to CHO to walk the ball backwards...

Need a win. A draw would be disappointing given the lack of wins already but a loss....well let's not even think of that scenario.

If our attack lets us down again they all need to be fined.

A loss would put us 5 points ahead of Spurs who have 4 games in hand and no European games.

A potential 7 point lead for them if they win them all.

Arsenal would be level if they win their games in hand.

United 3 behind. Ditto west ham

Wolves 4 behind.

Our last PL game for almost a month. It’s crucial we win to keep them at bay. They are now 8 points behind with 4 games in hand.

Can we beat a team 3 times on the bounce given our recent form? I’m not very hopeful for this one at all.

I reckon it will be another 1-1.

Once again, I would go with Werner, Havertz and Mount leading the attack with Kova and Kante in the middle. Wingback options are a joke currently. Hopefully we start getting players back soon

That’s insane. This slump has become incredibly dangerous.

Thankfully, I think the other teams are not that good. Spurs will probably get top 4 but Arsenal and United aren’t great at all. I’m hoping with a break, we can reset.

Ah I forgot to factor in if the other 4 win and we lose at the weekend.

Arsenal could go 3 ahead

United and West ham level

Wolves 1 behind

And as mentioned before Spurs 7 ahead.

3rd could drop to 8th, although who knows when these games get played.

I suppose with us not playing for nearly a month in the PL, we will have find out just how much this slump has cost us.

I would be surprised if all the games in hand are done by March.

I honestly cannot believe this. I demand success from Chelsea given the money we spend every season. However, I think the Utd game or soon after is where I gave up on the prem. I would rather lose it early than struggle mentally pushing city all the way only to still lose like Liverpool did a few years back.

I would happily settle for a comfortable top 4 finish as we haven't been comfortable since we last won the league ffs. Now once again we are in danger of finishing outside of it. I just cant fathom how we have dropped so many points. To put it down to losing Chilwell is absolutely ridiculous. One player, a wing back at that should not be the cause of this.

You really cannot fathom it? Come on mate did you miss my "festive Chelsea" comments? One season under Conte but apart from that every single winter season we become utterly hopeless. Our players always pull this sh*t.

Add to that Lukaku has destroyed team harmony halfway through December to extend our pain.

I remember your comments and even though you called it, that shouldn't be the right call. There is no excuses for us winning what isit 3 in 11 games or something? No excuse whatsoever.
