Chelsea v Spuds (PL) Sun 23rd Jan 2022 16:30 GMT

Featured Replies

It is crucial we start winning again. The rest of the top half challengers have games in hand that they can cut our lead to within 2-5 points. We can't afford to play catch up when Feb and March is brutal for us

we played best in the 4-4-2 system in the first half of the first leg

                 Arrizabalaga

Azpilicueta Thiago Silva Rüdiger  Sarr

Pulišić     Kovačić  Kante     Mount

               Havertz   Lukaku

or

Kante Kovačić  Jorginho     Mount

for extra extra press

True, Conte wanted to send a message to the board there and he did it well. He is not one of the top 3 coaches in the world for nothing.

Though the board only showed patience there imo because they were trying to get Conte to quit, hence his spiteful sacking the summer after.

But I never understood why 😔 yes he did screw up with handling of Costa but he would have learnt lesson and I really think he deserved chance.

But I think it is a fact, Whenever we  finish season outside 4, No manager in the world survives at Chelsea

This is definitely a must not lose.

Not true. It's a must win. Spuds will be 4 pts above us if they win all their game in hands and our chances to Top 4 will diminish.

I will be gutted if he leaves out havertz again, how can a player show what he can do being in and out of the team all the time.

I think he's been left out ever since he broke his finger? Might have something to do with it but I'm not sure.

It's hard to tell what goes through Tuchels brain at times.

We need to be at it from kick off today.  Spurs will smell blood and Conte will have them fired up.  He'll have learned a lot playing us twice recently also.

No excuses, we better match their workrate and win with a moment of quality, for once.  Home form suggests a draw most likely.

Please TT, drop the wing backs, it just isn't working with current players.  4-2-2-2, with Havertz and Lukaku up top.

Last time I say this. It’s perfectly possibly that we lose and still finish 3rd.

Love the optimism. Here's a better one. It's perfectly possible that we lose and still retain the Champions League.

Aside from that, I feel we always go into a big game vs Spurs where a loss will bury our league objective. We usually come out of it well but it's the uncertainty that kills you.

If I have to suffer through another 90 minutes of Alonso on the left flank I will lose my mind.

Play Lewis Hall or Kenedy please.

Starting XI: Kepa, Rudiger, Silva, Sarr, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Ziyech, Lukaku.

Subs: Bettinelli, Alonso, Kante, Pulisic, Werner, Chalobah, Saul, Barkley, Havertz.
