If we want to sign anyone else that can play that position, why not Xinchenko who can also play LB, as well as midfield. worse case scenario is to buy Ake and Coulibaly and retain Colwill as back up. What we end our static side to side passes is not Rapinha or Neymar or Dembele or Sterling. It is a quality creative midfielder in our midfield. We would be mugs of an international standard to pay more than 30m for Rice if a much better Phillip is going to Man city for 45m. Rice is so ordinary it's nauseating. Zero goal sense, zero to pitiful holding ability, a Jorginho with one leg tie behind his back can distribute and control the game far better than Rice could ever hope to achieve to 2 lifetimes. I was happily going along with your statement until I got a very rude shock when I read ( about teams that creates loads of chances). We are piss poor in chances that lead to goal creation and would continue to be that until we sort out our midfield and inject more creative players. Hopefully, we get Dembele to add to that quotient. Alternatively, I think Ziyech can play as a creative 10 as opposed to Mount as a Hardworking 10. Having said that I think we would be mugs to allow Jesus to go to Arsenal contested when we can offer him CL football, more wages and better chance of winning trophies. With Lewandowski now certain to go to Barca, we don't have too many options to replace Lukaku that fits our pattern to a T.

Jesus is a better striker than Werner. His style of play also suits us to a tee. He is young, versatile, fast and blessed with an insane workrate and can also play across the front three attacking positions. His goal scoring ability is also better than Werners' and so is his link up play.

Wanted to add Eriksen to our midfield options but forgot. I think we can accommodate an Eriksen and Dembele as creators in our team bcos they are essentially coming in as free agents. A revamp of that midfield with Eriksen as a creator tasked with getting the ball to our attackers quickly as opposed to Jorgiboy's side to side shows is important this season. Without that we might as well us stick to getting to top four as our only target
