Like the Rapture... While I know that this guy would improve us massively, I don't think we should break the banks just yet. There are several options that will cost us less but would do a very good job in the midfield. Players like Caicedo or Nunes @ wolves would be very good addition to our team. We are one or two players from having a very very good team and worst case scenario is to try negotiate with Benfica with the flexible option of getting him in the summer

Superb analysis... I don't think we were in for Trossard at all. He is 28 and won't fit in to the 6-7 years contract length style we now operate. I see Todd trying to build a team with a coach known to have done it in other clubs for the future. I expect our financial outlay on transfers to drastically reduce after next summer cos by then we would have a complete new young team with a coach set for the long haul. This is not a 100m race.... Kovacic for all his dribbling ability is a liability because of the rate of his turnovers and bad passes. jorginho is the master of the 5 yards pass. Little wonder attackers after attackers flop in Chelsea. We never can get the ball to them quick enough behind the opposition nor can our fullbacks cross the ball competently

He has a fairly decent record everywhere he has played. More to it, he is a very handy player: physically very strong, good eye for goal with feet or head, and also fairly quick in a race. He will offer us physical presence upfront as a proper CF with Felix, Mount, Kai playing off him. He is currently a free agent and would cost us minimally in sign on fees and loan. He is no stranger to 1 year deals and would either swim or sink with minimal cost to the club. For me he is a win win scenario for us and would be mugs not to consider him especially if reports that it's possible that Auba may leave is to be believed. We can sign him for year with option for another and let Fofana deputize for him freeing Havertz to be sold or allow to play in his original AM position.

I have been one of those clamouring for this guy. He is a proper AM that operates behind the striker like Mount but he is miles better than Mount in quality of passes, shots on target and a good eye for quick transitions. I believe he will come good for us if only we can get our midfield to increase the tempo of play. Mount should be benched for him. Period. Having said that I think we won't do bad looking at Aboubacar on a short term deal. He is very physical, a proper CF with a decent speed on him and very hardworking. Good in the air and quite a handful infront of goal also. He will come as a free agent with probably little sign on fee and wages that won't kill us but he will offer us plenty of presence upfront. Worse case scenario, he can't be as bad as Lukaku

Enzo might be a good player. But certainly not. 100m plus one. He wasn't setting the world ablaze before the world cup and certainly won't do so after it. The fact that Benfica wants full payment of his fees upfront should also be a red flag for us. If he comes fine, if he doesn't, fine. There are others players out there we can get for far less. Besides Zakaria hasn't look bad at all in his recent games

The greatest problem in the team right now is the total absence of creativity and quick ball movement. I really don't get the hype around Mount to be honest. The only good thing about him is that he is hardworking... Period.. he lacks creativity, the ability to create something out of nothing or make quick thru passes to attackers in promising positions. We have a Kovacic who cannot consistently make the right passes, and the master of sideways passing in Jorginho. I can't remember us scoring a single counterattacking goal in the last two seasons simply because our transition is so slow that by the time we decide to give our attackers and strikers the ball, everyone opposition member including the referee is behind the ball. The worst team in the Laliga moves the ball quicker than our team. Sort that out by getting quality forward passing players into that midfield before buying anyone

Why we never went for Tielemans is still baffling he is just an uprade to our midfield that we be sorely lacked. A DLP who can play as a DM, B2B a creator, purveyor of good long passes to Vardy and can score goals too. All for 25m....
