Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*
He's not going to downgrade. Conte isn't leaving a squad with Kane/Son and Richarlison to work with Pulisic and Ziyech. Conte would have walked if he had been left with our attacking options this summer. No manager is going to turn this group into an attacking force.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at Chelsea *Official*
Does anyone actually still want him at the club? He's better than what we have but he was clearly a Tuchel signing and in the last few days he's spent longer getting mugged and having his mask fitted than getting to play under Tuchel. Absurd decision to back the manager in signing his players then sack him after they've played 60 minutes.

Kalidou Koulibaly
Koulibaly is 31. We signed him on a massive contract and a big fee for a player of his age despite him only having a year left because we were counting on him making an instant impact. Young players get time. Koulibaly really really needed to step in and start performing to a high standard instantly so we really need him to step up.

He's not the answer. But I'd have gone for Willian on deadline day over some of our attackers.

Dinamo Zagreb v Chelsea (CL) Tues 6th Sep 2022 17:45 GMT
I'd argue while he was here Hazard played under 2 of the absolute worst possible systems for him to play under with Mou and Conte. And still shone like the star he was. He'd have put up 40 G/A a season playing in Klopp and Guardiolas teams. Just a truly elite footballer.

I'd argue none of the 5 are anything special technically. When I think Elite technical quality in the league now I'm thinking Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Firminho even Saint Maxim When is the last time any of our 5 actually dribbled past their man? Our problem is actually a massive lack of technical ability in the final 3rd which is why no one can actually play in tight spaces or through packed defences.

If you look at our forward players who got minutes today in forward roles Sterling is fantastic, Auba is elderly but in his first game so gets a pass and the rest (Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz) have been absolutely dog sh*t from the very first day they came to English football (Or in Pulisics case day 1 of his career) and they were here long before Tuchel. These are the same forward players that were terrible under Lampard when we were playing kamikaze style attacking football, all 3 looked significant downgrades on Tammy, Giroud, Willian and Pedro from day 1 let alone Hazard or the kind of top talent we need to challenge. It's absolutely horrifying when we need to turn a game around Tuchel has to pray proven losers like Pulisic scores 1 of his 4 goals a season. Every other top club in the league has more attacking talent and squad depth than us, we've spent our money very very poorly. I don't think the players have downed tools, we've won with 10 men for near 90 minutes and come back from a goal down late so the effort is there we just lack ideas in the final 3rd. That said I could be wrong it's impossible to tell if Pulisic and Ziyech have downed tools or not given how ineffective they've always been. The concern is mistakes have now started to creep in at the back but honestly I think a large part of it is the defence feels too much pressure week in week out because they know they can't make 1 mistake or we have no chance of winning the game. City and Liverpool usually play with so much freedom because their players know if they make a mistake and it leads to a goal their forwards can score 3/4/5 goals and everything is fine. We go 1-0 to anyone in the first minute and you can tell the players are wondering where the goals are coming from and I can't see that changing with this group of players even under a new manager.

Liverpool maybe. They're struggling as much as we are. But Haaland will break the Premier league goal record if he plays 90 minutes against Azpi.

That's a record we might challenge this season.

Would have been strange if tonight's performance converted you into Tuchel in. I'm still fully behind Tuchel. replacing him doesn't seem as ridiculous as it did previously given we've looked poor every game this season since the spurs game. The players not performing for his is a legitimate concern. But I just think our squad is absolutely horrendous and no manager could compete with it. He could be doing better but I'm not going to change a manager who's only getting 2/10 performances out of 1/10 players. These Bums would fail the next manager just like they did Tuchel and many did Frank.

Sarri is looking pretty good right now. Top manager. I swear that man gets so much disrespect because he's so unlikeable and looks like a sleazy uncle but he had us extremely well drilled and has performed well consistently at all his clubs.

Dinamo Zagreb v Chelsea (CL) Tues 6th Sep 2022 17:45 GMT
No one who knows anything about football has ever thought Pulisic or Ziyech was half the player Werner is. Timo was sold because he was the only one of the 3 anyone actually wanted but as I said at the time when people were fairly happy to see him leave it actually makes the squad a lot weaker unless we bring in another wide player and we didn't. I'm not singling out Puli or Ziyech they both did nothing positive at all as usual but they were no different to anyone else. The problem we have is we have absolutely no goals or game changers on the bench, Where's the player that will inject some impetus or get us back in a game were we're struggling? The Giroud? The Anelka? The Kalou? The Demba Ba? It's incredibly difficult for Tuchel to attempt to change a game that we're struggling in when we have no one to bring on who offers any kind of goal threat. It sounds strange since we just came back against West Ham but generally once we go behind we're done.

Sterling has at least troubled the opposition goal. Is our top scorer and top assister this season. Zaha could get injured this weekend and be out for the season and I still wouldn't put money on Pulisic, Ziyech or the version of Mount we've seen so far finishing the season with more goals than him. 4 goals is a season Talley for 2 of those guys.

I have absolutely no idea why we'd release Barkley and keep Pulisic at the club. From a footballing perspective it makes no sense.

Dinamo Zagreb v Chelsea (CL) Tues 6th Sep 2022 17:45 GMT
Remember last month when people didn't think Zaha was an upgrade on what we had? 300m and the squad isn't close to being one of the 4 best in the league and after tonight may struggle to get out the group. There's no goals in this team. To think we're bringing on Pulisic and Ziyech in the 2nd half when we need a goal. Shocking performance from a team with very very little attacking talent. Letting Timo go was a massive mistake.

Giving Azpi another contract is one of the worst decisions in the history of the club. Great servant but keeping a clearly finished player against his will and giving him a long term extension and a pay rise when he had the opportunity to leave on a high just because we wanted to one up Barca is incredibly amateurish. Azpi has nothing more to give to us.

Christian Pulisic - Official
I'm less concerned about Pulisics lack of ability to get on the end of a through ball than I am of his lack of ability to actually play one! As per premier leagues official stats he's played 7 through balls in his 3 and a bit seasons here. 7. f**king 7. Mark Pulisic has endorsed more tweets slandering the rest of our attacking options than his Son has played through balls since he signed for the club.

Reece James
I know you're never happy but I thought even you could get some joy about the best player out of our youth academy since John Terry and the best right back on the planet commiting his long term future and prime years to us. 250K for Reece James is an absolute bargain given we couldn't replace him and would have to spend 60/70m on an inferior player if he left and then pay them a similar salary I'm looking forward to see Reece here for many more years and fully expect him to go down as our best right back ever. The lad is frighteningly good.
