  1. This has 10:55pm on Wednesday written all over it.
  2. Blimey. Match of the Day 2 is going to be a must watch this evening! Absolutely hilarious. I can't see Wenger lasting past the next few days after that one.
  3. Got back about an hour ago from a really great day at the Bridge. Haven't been since we smashed Bolton 4-0 in the Carling Cup the other year, can't remember if it was last year or the year before! But anyway, cracking day out. First half was downright frustrating, fantastic goal from Bosingwa, and then we just switched off for the next hour or so, coincidentally until Mata and Anelka came on. Just in that 30 minutes, I got unbelievably excited for his future appearances for us. He played so well, he didn't look like a new signing, he gelled right into the team, and finished superbly for his goal. Lukaku deserves a mention too for his performance, he gave us options, he was playing on the shoulder of the defender, always moving, making runs. Great chance with a diving header, had he got a good connection on his shot that the keeper parried it would've surely been a goal. I am excited for future Chelsea. Potential front line for seasons to come - Mata/Lukaku/Sturridge. I could die a happy man if we see that week in week out in the coming seasons.
  4. Ramires for me too. Absolutely superb today. As loz said, our hopeful signing of Modric is looking more and more vital given Lamps' pretty woeful start to the season.
  5. Seriously? I remember Sky Sports saying we'd agreed a fee of £11m which could go up to £18m with add ons and his success, or something like that.
  6. A knee-less footballer?! That's impressive enough for me, sign him up!
  7. Am going to the Norwich game, so hope he plays some part! This excites me too: I. Am. EXCITED.
  8. What a pointless acronym. There's one that's been floating around recently, "GPOY, " meaning "gracious picture of yourself." I mean, really?!
  9. Am going to the Norwich game, hope to see Lukaku play a liiiittle bit! Such a shame Studge is still out though, if we get Mata done quick enough then we could've seen a front 3 of Sturridge - Lukaku - Mata! So excited about Lukaku, but as many pointed out, his number is 14, but he's been given #18, leaving #14 completely free. Has to be a good omen, surely!
  10. Just come back from the cinema, went to see Super 8, the new JJ Abrams film, and it really is brilliant. The kids as the leads are superb and the film is just really, really well done. I loved it.
  11. Dan Levine on Twitter (@BluesChronicle) said it was because he was lacking match fitness because he didn't play in the Copa America! I haven't seen the match, it's being shown on ChelseaTV in 5 minutes, but if Mikel is injured, good thing we bought Oriol!
  12. Liverpool (success wise not anymore, but they still anger me like no other team) Tottenham Man Utd Arsenal West Ham
  13. I really have no idea whether Mod is being serious or not. I hope he's serious and he's actually AVB.
  14. Zhirkov I can understand, but Alex and Mikel? Mikel is particularly baffling, because he was one of the few who played the whole 90 minutes against Villa at the weekend, I think he played more minutes than anyone in the squad in Asia, actually. Alex I could understand as long as Rajokovic manages to secure a work permit. If Rajko fails that, then Alex has to stay.
  15. Always had high hopes for him, never fulfilled though, which is a great shame. All the best to him.
  16. Get another 2-3 good seasons out of Drogba? Give over. Do we seriously want a 34/35/36 year old being the focal point of our attack in the coming seasons? No. I disagree with the posters above who said Torres was a bit of a desperate signing, I firmly believe Torres was signed as Drogba's replacement, not in a direct like-for-like replacement, but Torres will be our target man, a different kind of target man, but a proven, excellent target man. We all know how brilliant Drogba is, and while he still is able to do a job, I don't see him lasting much longer. At 33, he really is on his last legs I think. This season we'll see less and less of Drogba, it's time to move from from Drogba. We had a fantastic time having him being our main man for the last 7 years, but we should make the transition this season from Drogba to Torres, before letting Drogs retire at the end of the season/go to Marseille. That's how I see it.
  17. Priority has to be getting the Premiership back at the Bridge.
  18. I did have Ramires, Sturridge and Torres in my team, but I remembered Studge's 3 match ban, and so now I have just Ramires and Torres from Chelsea. And team is completely done. I'm very happy with it. Hart Huth Samba Cahill Hangeland N'Zogbia Ramires Yaya Toure Aguero Torres Odemwingie Bench: Bogdan, Ferguson, Simpson, Vaughan.
  19. Wasn't he meant to be unveiled on Wednesday after Kitchee? Alright.
  20. It must be good for him that he's spent 5 years away on loan, but he's still on the books. The staff must think incredibly highly of him, and it sounds like AVB does too. I hope he does get a work permit, though he hasn't been tested properly yet (Villa on Saturday will be a test for him), I think he can do a very good job for us. Seeing as he's 22, he can still learn, and maybe in 2 or 3 years we could have Ivan at right back with Rajko and David Luiz as a centre back pairing.
  21. Ruh Buh Juh replied to Andreas's topic in Entertainment
I'm only half way through Series 5 at the moment, should get it finished before 6 starts. But I agree with Andreas, it gets so much better, Series 4 is probably the best series of tv I have ever watched, from any tv show.
  22. Excellent post. His age is such a huge bonus, if we sign him tomorrow as the rumours suggest, for around £30million, I will be incredibly happy. In a couple of seasons, we may well have a midfield 3 of Ramires, McEachran and Pastore, but a flat midfield 3 so no one has strictly defensive duties, but is required to defend also. I'd be happy as Larry if we have that.
  23. As far as I know, Sanchez isn't fully complete yet. He's very close to, but it's not done YET. We could still yet pull of the shock of the summer. Aguero, I think, would be a fair more effective wide player than Aneka or Kalou, he's far quicker and more skillful than both of them. I'd like us to use Sturridge and whoever our other wide player is as inverted wingers, so Sturridge will be on the right, cutting in on his left side, full back overlapping to give him an option, and vice versa. Sanchez/Aguero would be IDEAL for that position.
  24. At this point, I think it's encouraging that AVB and Gourlay have come out in public and discussed transfers, that things are going on behind the scenes, and that those who preach about how our backroom staff don't know what they're doing can stick it where the sun don't shine. AVB has openly discussed Courtois and Romeu, and even Lukaku the other day, the first two, I think, are for the future. AVB said that they're still deciding where Courtois should go to fully develop, a smart move, and seeing as Romeu is only 19 and a player for Barcelona B, he may well go out on loan too. Gourlay said very recently that we hope to have TWO PLAYERS signed in the next 10 days. Whether the players are Courtois and Romeu or two others that sneak into the backround until we reveal on Thursday that we've signed both Cronaldo and Messi in a bizarre loophole in both their conracts that states that they will be signed for a pint of Guinness, as long as they are both in the same pub, at the same time, drinking a Guinness each bought for them by the owner of the club, namely Roman Abramovich. We'll have to wait and see. The optimist inside me thinks that the two players we'll sign in the next week or so won't be Courtois and Romeu. I think AVB is smart enough to see that while Sturridge and Torres are good enough, we need a winger to command the right wing. A surprise swoop for Sanchez or Aguero would make me an incredibly happy man, as both are players I think can play on the right superbly (or the left, if AVB wants to play inverted wingers, like at Porto). We can only speculate, but I know that this summer is going to be an exciting one.
