Lamps Cech And Big JT Congrats
Ronaldo did win best forward, but I don't think it should count to be honest. Ronaldo went to the Mancs as a direct replacement for Beckham, so that makes him a right MIDFIELDER/WINGER. Since when do midfielders and wingers count as strikers? Maybe Fergie played him up front in a few games because they were short on strikers, but that's still no reason to give him best forward. In the CL final, where did he play? On the left of MIDFIELD. It makes no sense to me.

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
Madrid are saying they can't find a replacment. No biggy. Why don't Chelsea lessen the amount to around £22 million and throw in Malouda?

Champions League Group Stage Draw In Full
Group D should be verrrrry interesting indeed. Athletico Madrid and PSV will definitely be a problem for them. Oh please let them get creamed

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
What are the rules regarding Visa's for players? I thought it was just if you hadn't played in England before, you'd need a visa, or is it more complicated than that?

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
Robinho £28million deal to be completed on Friday Looking promising, but does anyone trust the newspapers these days?

Kaka
I see I missed a lot in my 2 weeks of inactivity...

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
Valencia said a few weeks ago that they're keeping them two - Link But, it says they're KEEN to keep the duo, so they will become active at some point, and certainly won't go down without a fight. If Robinho doesn't work out, get a bid in! In regards to Aguero, he's said he's had some interest from teams, none of which were Chelsea, I'm afraid.

We'll see about that.... :D

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
If you remember, Calderon was the guy that said "We are definitely getting Ronaldo" Who are you going to trust? Robinho's agent who said Robinho wants to go or Real's President who said he's not for sale? BTW, this topic was started by a rumour going around that we were going to buy Robinho for £28 million, how coincedental would it be for us to sign Robinho for that price? :D

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
Robinho Anger At Real Let's hope that triggers the arrival of one Robinho...;)

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
That would ge great, but I doubt Real'll sell him for less than about £25 million, unfortunately. But you never know...:D

Guardian Review
The fact that he mentioned Carrick twice doesn't help his argument. Neville, Brown & Scholes arn't in the England squad anymore. We, on the other hand have - JT, Lamps, A. Cole, Joey Cole, SWP & Bridge. <<< All regular's in the England squad. So that's 4 Manc players in the England squad against Chelsea's 6.... Ronadlo77, Let me guess: not a maths student...?

Great point, and totally true. Finally, someone realises Bridge's talent!

Drogba Staying
No it didn't actually....it worked on FIFA :D
-
Drogba Staying
Don't worry, it was just an idea. :D All I'm saying is that it would probably be the VERY LAST RESORT were we to be completely down on strikers. It's 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% unlikely to happen, but you never know...
-
Drogba Staying
I never said it would happen, it's only if we're completely down on strikers/wingers. Lampard up front would only happen if all our strikers and wingers were injured, which is highly unlikely. But, putting Lampard up top wouldn't be such a bad thing though if you think about it. 20 goals from midfield - how much more would he get if he was the main target man?

Portsmouth At Home
7 players on the bench next season remember :D I think we're going with this in a 4-3-3, very similar to TomP's suggestion actually... ........................Cech ...Paulo.........JT..........Carvalho...........Cole ...Essien.............Deco...............Lampard ....Joey...........Anelka.............Malouda Bench: Carlo Alex Ivanovic Ballack Mikel SWP Di Santo
-
Drogba Staying
Well, I'm sure someone like Lampard or Ballack or Deco could fill in the striker role to some extent if we're COMPLETELY desperate. Any of our wingers (barr SWP) could do the job aswell, so I think we'll be alright until Kalou returns. And, we could always raid the reserves/youth. Unlikely and a bit of a risk, but they're cover all the same!

28 MILL FOR ROBINHO
I seriously hope so. It would end all sorts of speculation surrounding us as Scolari and Kenyon has said Robinho is our only and last target. Then, the serious stuff can start!
-
Drogba Staying
G4 has a very good point. Anelka is our only decent striker at the minute, but we have enough cover. We have 12 days before the season starts, and we could sign Robinho by then, because Scolari has said he wants his team complete by then, so if we secure him, we'll have him as a reserve for Anelka if he gets injured, but if we don't sign him and Anelka isn't fully fit, we could play 2 up front with Di Santo or Sheva, so Anelka won't have to do as much running as he would if he was the lone striker. We have enough cover, don't panic!

4 Or 5 Favourite Players Ever
In no particular order.... JT. Eidur. Zola. Sparky. Lampard. :) P.S. It's amazing how no one has yet to mention Bogarde...I can't for the life of me see why he wouldn't be in everyone's top 5!
-
Simao
The fact he's 28 should definitely rule him out as a replacement for Robinho.
-
Drogba Staying
I honestly don't see Drogba signing a new deal as a bad thing! As TomP said, he is the most successful striker we've ever had! No one in the Premiership knows how to deal with him, because they know they haven't got a chance of winning a header against him, and they arn't going to out muscle him any time soon. Would love to see an Anelka/Drogba partnership next season. But where does that leave SWP, Malouda, Kalou and, possibly, Robinho or Simao? One thing is for certain. Essien/Lampard/Ballack/Deco is a certain midfield 4. How we'll get them, 2 of our wingers and 2 strikers in, I do not know. Scolari has a tough choice to make.

The Ghost Of V*r*n?
In this pre-season, the only time I'd hear "greedy" and "Deco" in the same sentence is if someone was to say "Deco IS NOT greedy!" He is probably one of the best passer's in football today in all honesty. Jack, maybe you don't like him, but why say that on a Chelsea forum, when in all the talk everyone has been impressed by him? This topic was more of a run for you into no man's land, than a good discussion, I'm afraid.
