Personally, I don't like the idea of a 5-man defence. It looks like we don't want to move forward enough. Drop Ivanovic and put Anelka up front with DD. Hmm...

I doubt we'll get Kaka as a result if then getting Ronnie, they're 2 completely different players. But, I won't rule out the possibility just yet...

Has no one realised that we won't really need - but we definitely want one! - a replacement for Frankie? Think about it. We would have, if Lamps goes: Essien, Ballack, Deco, Mikel, Maka, Joey Cole, Malouda, Kalou and Wright-Phillips that play as midfielders at the moment. Joey Cole is certainly not a winger. We put him just behind the striker(s) with Ballack, Essien and Deco in midfield. It'll be like a 4-3-1-2, with the 3-1 being ...Essien.....Deco....Ballack ..............Joey Cole Kalou could fill in if Joey is injured as Kalou is actually a striker. Any of the 3 midfielders are absent, Mikel, Maka or even SWP (Everton in the CC anyone?) could fill in a position there. Then there's Malouda if we're completely down on players to play on the left or right of midfield, to supply his completely useless crosses! It's fool proof! Then if that formation doesn't work, put Deco in Joey's position, Essien in the middle and Joey out on the right! Or possibly, Ballack in Joey's position and Joey on the left! I hope Scolari is listening... :angry:

It also looks like Tottenham will lose Bent aswell, with Sunderland looking to land him with Kenwyn Jones out ofr god knows how long. All 4 of Tottenham's striker will have gone in the space of 2 seasons! Brilliant!

I say we just put an offer in anyway :angry: We'll have nothing to lose 'cause we don't expect to get him! If he rejects it, then we'll be fine because we knew he didn't want to sign for us, but if he accepts, it's an added bonus!

To be honest, I think it'll be more of a 4-3-1-2 with Ballack/Essien/Lampard all helping with the defensive duties

I'd say swap Ballack and Essien around, Ballack's better going forward than Essien. I would like to see the diamond actually with Drogba and Anelka up front, see how that works. Cole ............................Essien ..........Ballack........................Lampard ............................Deco ............Anelka..................Drogba It could work...

Drogba's agent said that if he doesnt leave, he'll sign a new 2 year contract, according to Sky Sports.

I say we keep SWP. He's a great talent and I'd like to see him work under Scolari, as Scolari said people will have to fight for places. If SWP fights for his place and gets it, I'm sure he won't dissapoint. Give him a season, see how he does, if he's awful we sell him for about £10 million to Pompey, if he has a great season, we keep and let him play more! SWP is the type of player that will get better the more games he plays, it'll get him into some form, where as under Mourinho and Grant he was picked for the occasional game and had no chance to put some consecutive games under his belt to prove his worth. If he manages to string 5 or 6 games together, he could become a great player for us. Well, at least that's what I think....
