David Datro Fofana to Chelsea
Makes you wonder why he was ever sent on loan and I hope he returns next season and is given a chance as it may just save the club a fortune.

Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged
Chelsea fans would reject that bald slap headed sex pest as our manager because his "tippy tappy" football would be deemed sheeeeiiiiittt.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
I differ in your views of both Enzo and Caicedo being two of the most sort after midfielders. Bellingham is a sort after midfielder. I had never heard of Enzo before we signed him and I was absolutely against CFC wanting to spend 100 million more than Brighton paid for Caicedo 12 months earlier. The frankly ridiculous sums are on the board not manager. I suspect Caicedo will stay for the duration of the contract and Enzo will be off within the next 18 months and can help fund the FFP black hole and would command a fee of about 60/70 million. Having said that, both are at Chelsea and players have to find out what works or doesnt. A manager will only go so far and I'll simply point out the problem England had with Lampard and Gerrard. Two of the games best midfielders who just couldn't occupy or play together on the same pitch. Lampard was head and shoulders above Gerrard in every metric but the media bullied Gerrard into the team. We cant afford to sign new players without selling, we cant afford to be paying teams to release managers and or paying them compensation when we sack them and the entire coaching staff... As I said in another post. Let Poch get on with shaping the team. His Southampton side remained current after he left for spurs and the north London sh*ts did finish runners up to Contes side - he can build teams, he just hasn't figured out winning... which is when you do bring in a impact manager like Anchelotti/ Zidane etc. Worked well for Chelsea with Ranieri to Jose Mk1. I doubt we'll go under but this is really depressing reading. Poch is the least of our worries. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-ffp-points-penalty-warning-experts-2946620

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
My reasoning is that with most managers need one season to get ideas across and work with players and see who can and cannot follow managers instructions. Im not saying stumble along for 8 years with one manager, but certainly stick with one while you rebuild a squad. See where it is capable of going - 6/9 months is too short and most managers are not impact managers like Jose was. We've been lucky with the playing personnel and managers who could come in and work with top international pros, the takeover has completely shaken up the backroom staff, player squad and it just needs time to bed in. 3 managers in a season won't do that. I bet Clearlake regret sacking Potter, but christ the football was turgid under him. We struggled to score, at least that's not so much of an issue currently. Small mercies imo

None... We've been trying to rebuild the squad since Lampard's first stint. He brought through youngsters but the club didnt want to continue that route. now were doing it full on.. We won silverware with Sarri and tuchel but were well off the pace of the league. Would either of those coming back make us competitive? Not if the board doesnt back a manager in some way with recruitment or retaining players. Anyhow, tuchel wants to return which would make people happy for six months until we hit the invariable buffer with his ego. Others will be delighted that Challobah, Gallagher and Broja look likely heading out the door with some exciting youngsters coming in to replace them. Now that fills me with fear.

we won our last league title nearly 8 years ago. we've had 8 managers since then... How many years are you prepared to stumbling along?

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
And here's the final thing about you moaning fans. Imagine getting a 20 point deduction. that would currently relegate us. Imagine if the fans, over the course of the season had created an atmosphere in the bridge that helped players play with more confidence, instead of jeering/booing the team, trashing the best players, owners, manager or whatever and we actually saw a confident team run out at the bridge not afraid to make mistakes. Imagine if that support translates into six/ nine more points this season, even with a possible 20 point deduction we'd avoid relegation. It's a team game be it on the pitch or from us in the stands. Im going to support the team now, that includes the manager and backroom staff. you lot can all snipe away, youre entitled to it, but count me out of it.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
I think most of the posts from whining fans are like man Childs. you included. the whinging, sniping, constant refusal to get behind a team of young players is frankly weird given the Sh*t the club continues to find itself in and you all call yourself supporters but dont act like it. You're all living on past glories and tbh, that's what the dippers did for 30 years. become a dipper and cry into your pints for the next 30 years - We not celebrating winning the league, we used to celebrate like gooners getting the top 4. how pathetic is that? I want the club to grow back into a top 4 side. Im happy to apply patience. the managers dont bother me, they come and go, but I do think it all needs evaluating at the end of the season. We will be back in square one if we ditch another manager now. I wonder what you'll all think if we get a points deduction and relegation, then what? who will manage us then?
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Sacking the last three managers has or hasn't worked? with each manager we saw a bounce into the top 4 did we? patterns of play improved? our defence tighten? we saw play improve did we? the team played like a team or as individuals? the club suddenly shot up the league table and we qualified for European football? we saw all that under tuchel/Potter and Lamps? Did we progress last season? We won games against all the lower ranked sides right and qualified for the Champions League? We are outside top 5 contention, we are in united position. The "problems" many moaners are having won't go away with a new manager, they'll just be transferred onto the new manager and in six months times you will get out the broken record players and start scratching out the same tunes. Win lose or draw, you guys will find something to complain bitterly about.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
"we aren't talking about a team struggling to get in the top 4, we've been turned into a team struggling to get in the top 10 and it's by and large the fault of Pochettino." did you see us last season, if so who was the manager? sorry, who were the managers? How is our downturn related to our current manager when he's been here 7 months and we finished the league 12 last season. I get it you folk need someone to blame but when I see another "I won't stand for it" - it just reads and sounds like a man child whining on like you're entitled to win the league every season. I genuinely feel sorry that you feel the way about the club, you'll get over it. Despite having admiration for what roman did for us, we are still facing oblivion because of him, how he ran the club and facing a possible relegation via FFP. Im not sure CFC can work any other way aside from buying young and developing them into something and that takes time and patience.

Mate, We're not even giving managers more than six months. I just dont get how a new manager every six months works when you do need just a grain of stability for ideas and tactics to develop. We've been absolutely spoiled with the names of the best managers to have graced the game coming and going from CFC. right now, I think we've exhausted most options. I dont know who is better than poch who will come and work with the constraints imposed on the manager here currently or do a better job.

Im fed up of the circus every managerial appointment comes with. I dont and have never really watched manager press conferences, only thing that matters is the performance on the picth so dont care what any of them really say. Proof is on the pitch and the players imo have turned a corner in what is expected of them. It's taken 12+ months of some woeful performances but something is starting to develop and I enjoy the slow progress being made. Sure its not lifting trophies but I enjoy football however it comes, even if it costs more than a ton to watch every now and then. Love the cut of Palmer, Gusto, Petrovic, Desasi, Caicedo, Jackson, Gallagher. Some mental steel about them and a real good nucleus to work with. Think they'll all perform better with continuity in a manager.

Difference between Chelsea and Arsenal, we're entering the cycle they've and united have been in for 10 years. They had Emry and then spent 3 seasons backing Arteta. Look how that has worked out for them. It took pep 12 months to work his magic at city, and longer for Klopp... United hired some of the best names including Jose and couldn't clean the S**t off the shovel. Chelsea fans at the start of the season = give Poch two years to sort this mess out, will play youth, must give them time... Chelsea fans mid season = club clueless, players S**T, Poch the worst manager ever, life is S**t. who can we replace his with!!!

My first pick is to keep Poch. I think another change will waste another season, potentially two when the next manager fails to inspire this group of players and the fanbase call for the club to cut off his head.

Carlo... Jose... would be my picks. Still to this day wobble my head at Romans decision to get rid of Carlo. Surprised no one is mentioning Zidane... winning coach if ever there was one and available. Probably wouldn't want a project team. If we get points deduction and relegation, Id be hoovering up Luton's boss or Vincent Company to get us back into the premiership. Poch would probably walk as he aint a championship manager. given that there is still a massive cloud over Stamford Bridge regarding FFP, this could put a lot of managers off coming near us. Fingers crossed we bag another 10/15 points and avoid relegation by stealth.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Sometimes things take longer to put things right. We have a side where most have been signed from overseas, from different quality leagues and who are at different levels of ability. I dont blame Poch for injuries, this is a club thing given the long list we've had for a good number of years. Presumably you're not into the pressing football most of the league plays. that's fine, but it's what the owners wanted, both Roman and now Clearlake. fitness, I thought we were in pretty good shape from pre season. No euro football, an issue pre-dating poch. Second half stats are meaningless when the only metric that matters is the league table. It does show that it might be a fitness or communication issue... Some games are worse than others, some games are better than others. Point taken, we fall away in second halves of football, something the management can all work on. the club will make a decision on poch in the summer. Im happy with the outcome either way, stays or goes, but if he goes, I can see the same issues happening next season so that's why I think fans should give him the benefit of the doubt. The entire ethos of the club is being changed on the pitch and behind the scenes, including the hiring and firing and player recruitment. Yes we all want to win, but we are not Chelsea pre Roman where throwing money at something worked. The teams at the top have all been together a lot longer than our players have. Liverpool, City, Arsenal squads, even Tottenham and Aston Villa have been together far longer than ours. It makes a huge difference. We all want to win, disappointment makes success that much sweeter...

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
How has he been disastrous? What is a disaster in CFC recent history? was it being sanctioned and nearly put out of business for having a dodgy benefactor in Roman, was it the fact that we sold an entire first team squad? was it players being signed by a board and no input from the manager? was it being managed by our 4th manager in two seasons? What would you have done differently? Like you I dont think we're far away from being really competitive again. but I do think fans just need to give the players and manager more time, room and space to play and constant sniping and moaning or pointing the finger doesn't help. When the bridge rocks, it's next level. lets get back to that...
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Right... Let's work through another very large shadow hanging over our club. How many points will the club have taken off them should we be found to have breached FFP? lets say 20... How many of the fans will turn up to watch us in the championship? I'll still go... wave at the fair-weather glory seekers. Who will be to blame for the breach of FFP? It cant be our new owners, the players aren't to blame because most have been moved on, It most won't be Poch because he came at the start of the season... Blame will have to be pointed at Roman.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Good manager tactic trying to take the blame and heat off players who have been routinely abused by the fanbase for the past two seasons...

Tuchel cant work with the best team in the Bundesliga with the best striker in the world.

Nicolas Jackson - striker
Accountability comes with age as does wisdom. I really like the guy, doesnt hide like so many of our past multi million pound strikers. Remember Torres used to vanish behind the full backs overlapping him... Credit to our own Waco jacko. Anyhow, Newcastle paid 65 million for Isak and we paid half that for Jackson who has done really well so far in his first season. Both have 11 goal or assist contributions in the league this season. Both came from Spain and one has been here nearly 12 months longer. I'll take five league goals from him between now and end of season and I'd say that's a damn good Premier League debut season... Hope he bulks up a little for next year...

Nicolas Jackson - striker
Young man moves to new country to a new league. Is open and honest about his own performances... wants to do better... applaud the guy cause he and the team will get better.

Scored two headed goals in a week.... Clearly isn't capable of leading a line... Scores a goal yesterday and is pilloried by "fans". makes assists, but gets ridiculed for not doing enough for the team. win, lose or draw... our fans find ways to pick on Chelsea players. There is more criticism of the players and manager than there is of opposing players/ fans and teams... it is mind bending that so many cant get behind, support, be constructive about players playing for our club.
