I think we should have kept Andrey Santos, he was ok in midfield for us. But selling 2 midfielders Enzo and Santos in the same window without any replacement isn't looking too clever.
Anyway, losing to the best team in the PL on Sunday isn't going to dampen my enthusiasm for the way we are trying to play under Xabi

Doesnt offer enough end product. I dont really have an issue with him as he has survived the summer cull and the manager obviously see's something in his game. Im genuinely interested to see what Alonso can do.
IMO Neto is a far less effective Willian. Dare I say it, but I'd much rather have kept George, who on here wasnt good enough, but had more redeeming qualities than Neto and would have saved us spending on Gittens, Garnacho and Neto (circa 150 million).
Always do this, but probably good to compare how both George and Pedro handle the season and finish with the better stats. Put George in my Fantasy team ahead of Neto so that's my take on it.
It's also why Im keen for Alonso to work some magic with the squad he has (if possible) and be given 18 months to sort out the mess he has inherited from the past 3 seasons.
Madueke hasnt kicked on since moving to Arsenal, didnt really impress at the world cup, glad he's no longer here, think I'll eventually say the same about Neto, but hope he can up his game while he's here, he's probably a demon on the five a side kick abouts.

Enzo was and is a rat. The fans turned on him when his true colours emerged. The fee we paid did not match his ability, not even close. Ramires was a better servant and performer for us than this fool.
Don’t underestimate how important it is to rid a dressing room of a character like this. We are well shot of him and got our money back so win win for us.

Stevo has bags of talent, would love him to succeed here and turn on the style. He has a massive 6/12 months ahead of him, he has to impress Alonso, force his way into the side, and establish himself as a top Premier League player. He hasnt done that for me since arriving. We've seen flashes and moments of class, needs faith from the manager, run of games and minutes and stay injury free.
A precocious talent who will force a move if he doesnt get game time. Barca/PSG/Real will all be sniffing around in January if he's not getting regular game time.

I actually think he has bulked up in his time here which has inevitably taken a bit off of his pace. He has also lost a bit of that guile needed by wide players. Even if he played in the 10 at the moment I would be worried that he would be caught in possession and dispossessed too easily. Needs a run of games, needs an injection of confidence, and we still have a massive talent here.
Currently I am seeing parallels with early CHO, even before the injury. Precocious kid breaking through on a foundation of blistering pace allied to step overs and trickery. As soon as that pace dropped off I felt he got found out. Just hoping Estevao doesn't follow a similar pattern.

About time we beat these muppets. Hopefully Alonso has a plan and can tighten us up at the back.

Hopefully he’s as good I’m imagining him to be. Still settling in and what not to be done, but I feel we can hang on to Arsenal and City’s coat tails for a bit longer this season with a better set of midfield options. Surely a top four finish is ours for the taking.

Alonso more or less has turned the club upside down in two months. Completely different style that has the fans on board.
Sure it could be another false dawn but that’s not the feeling I’m getting.

Unbelievable the amount of change Alonso has persuaded the club to do in such a short space of time. All the problem children dealt with in a matter of weeks. Well done Xabi lad !!

If we have genuinely turned down a City bid in excess of £120m then we are crazy. There is virtually no market for Enzo at the price we are asking. Of the clubs that could afford him, City are the only ones that actually want him, and that's probably 100% Maresca's doing (I can't imagine Guardiola would have been interested if he was still their manager).

At last, I'm enjoying watching Chelsea again. So early in the season and yet Alonso has got us playing some lovely football.
