  1. Story breaking now - even if normally a dubious site. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...-ribery-joining Leading Bookmaker Slashes Odds On Franck Ribery Joining Liverpool The Frenchman could be set for a somewhat surprising switch to Merseyside... Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Bavaria this summer, with Real Madrid his own stated preferred destination, though a clutch of Europe's biggest clubs have been reportedly interested at one stage or another. Liverpool, until now, have not been one of those clubs, but British bookmaker Skybet, the company who dramatically slashed their odds on Michael Owen joining Manchester United the day before the striker signed for the Old Trafford outfit, have announced a similar cut on the odds of Ribery moving to Anfield. The bookmakers have cut the odds on a Mersey move for the Frenchman from 66/1 to 8/13 on, after receiving a flurry of bets on the move taking place. "Every price we have put up has been taken on Ribery moving to Liverpool, which has left us stumped as in recent weeks he has been liked with every other club but the Reds!" Skybet's Dale Tempest told sports betting website oddspreview.com. "After seeing money for him to join Man United and Real Madrid at the same time that Bayern Munich say he's going nowhere, we've now seen a flood of bets on him to join Liverpool. "8/13 may seem a very short price but after the losses we made last week on Michael Owen, who was gambled down from 20/1 to move to Manchester United, we are taking no chances." It remains to be seen whether or not this is a further example of the bookies' prescience, or merely the symptom of yet more speculation regarding the player's future.
  2. Got a sinking feeling that they shortly will be taken over by mega, mega rich Arabs... Spunked £18m on Glen Johnson and all the top team players been given mega new contract deals. Where's the sudden windfall come from?
  3. WTF? Odds slashed to 8/13 for Liverpool to get Ribery. Hunbelievable... http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10003041
  4. Really hope this is true. He will be our new Zola :-)))
  5. Hopefully at the Ancelotti unveiling will be JT sitting next to him with Carlo announcing he will be the captain for the 2009/2010 season. That will shut the media up once and for all on that matter !
  6. SSN reporting he is in London for medical now.
  7. Meant to be having a medical today. http://en.rian.ru/sports/20090702/155409720.html MOSCOW, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian international Yury Zhirkov will undergo a Chelsea medical on Saturday as his 18 million-pound ($29.8 million) move to the west London club nears completion, Sovetski Sport said on Thursday. The 25-year-old's official unveiling as a Chelsea player has been penciled in for July 8, the paper said. The attacking left-sided midfielder or defender has been an integral part of CSKA's and Russia's success over the past few years, scoring the second goal in the former Red Army club's 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the 2005 UEFA Cup final and starting every game in Russia's run to the semifinals of Euro 2008. He was recommended to the club by Russian national coach Guus Hiddink, who managed Chelsea from February to the end of the 2008/2009 season.
  8. Just maybe Valencia have had offers in for David Silva and/or Mata instead, (which could balance their books for now), thus negating the need to sell their talisman David Villa. Just a thought !
  9. Definately Aguero for me too.
  10. Iceman replied to MHedges's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
That exact story broke a couple of weeks ago. Since then Pato has done a u-turn and said he wants to win everything with Milan. Just complete lazy journalism again. Typical Mail spreading sh*t, hoping that some of it will stick if they repeat long enough.,
  11. Iniesta must be on his way to becoming in the top 5
  12. Good. I hope he does stay in Spain.
  13. Anyone received their 2009/10 season ticket in the post yet?
  14. Iceman replied to Bez's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
I hope not. Aguero is a far better option
  15. Yes please mate. Thanks for posting.
  16. Chelsea will again be a bloody laughing stock if the club signs Pirlo. What the fark is our club - a final resting home for OAP players on a last massive pay day !
  17. Iceman replied to Bez's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
Chelsea signing Tevez is like sloppy seconds. The best is Aguero. If Abramovich wants his club Chelsea to be the best, then he needs to get the best - Aguero will be massive talent in a few years !!
  18. The replacements could be for the outgoing Forlan though....
  19. Can see it happening if we are really after Ribery
  20. Would rather we were looking at a new Robben type player instead of a strong, efficient Malouda type
  21. What the fark is the Chelsea board's absolute obsession with signing a £17m right back every bloody Summer? When oh when is it going to click with them that we need pacy wingers (2 required) and a striker? Jeez. It cant also escape a reasonable mind that it is left back where we need to sign cover and also cover for Goalkeeper. If we can find a baby Frank now to train up too, then all the better. But no, wlecome back to to the annual laughing stock of Chelsea Football Club - a new RB signing !!
  22. Totally agree. Looking forward to what tb186 has to say next - no need to fark on his parade is there? Wish people wold get off their high horse sometimes. So nice to be vaguely connected with a superstar like Aguero. All for it. Thank you tb186 for your info so far. Really appreciate it mate.
  23. Benzema will either go to Barcelona or Man Utd IMHO. I'd imagine Chelsea are low down on his list of preferred clubs.
  24. Anyone at UEFA looking into where Real Madrid are getting all this money from for players? Yes, i mean you Platini !! As it sure as hell has not come from Real Madrid revenue. I expect Platini will be on the case toute-suite ! Yeah righto. That is only for the the English enemies of football !
  25. Could Glen be bought to be groomed into a defensive midfielder (Mikel will be away with ANC for 2 months next season) or even as a right winger?
