  1. Kevin Wilson (soon to be CFC) in top photo.
  2. Great pictures. Awful away Leicester kit at the time. Looking at the photos of the East Stand the seats looked fairly full. I was in The Shed that day which was also fairly full. This would indicate an "actual" crowd of circa 25 - 28,000?? Without looking it up I would guess the "reported" crowd was around 17,000. Got to love Uncle Ken!
  3. A young Stuart Pearce by the looks
  4. Truly wonderful away following. As ever!
  5. Townsend, Clive Wilson, Ray, Kerry & Alan McDonald (RIP). I was sat (in the aisle) with a few Chelsea in the area between Wilson and Wilkin's heads. Was an awful penalty by Dixon. I believe their winner was an early penalty. Never had much luck on the pitch when I went there.
  6. I got in that day. Ticket was £40 from a tout!!
  7. My guess is that the changing room photo is after the Leeds (5-0) game.
  8. Is this The (Old) Den?
  9. Apologies Bluehaze. Old age ..........
  10. Not the temporary shed as he is wearing the away kit.
  11. "Soundly beaten" in Europe my arse! We lost on away goals FFS.
  12. Regarding the glorious 83/84 season I am pretty sure that sadly great chunks of it were not even filmed.
  13. It seems that tickets will be £26 for adults and we will get whole of south stand (5,600) if agreed by safety officials and police. Live on Sky but that is not a great surprise.
  14. West ham were on their way to/from Wimbledon the same night.
  15. Excellent information Gmccfc!! Looks like it will be a goer. Many thanks.
  16. You sound as if you have some local knowledge Gmccfc. There is a horse racing meeting at Nakayama race course on Saturday 15th. Am I correct in thinking this track is in Tokyo? Will that be any good? Would it be easy to travel to and from there from Yokohama? Cheers.
  17. Zippy - a quick question if I may! Staying the Friday & Saturday night in the "Unterschlei8heim" area (north west of the stadium, south west of the airport). What is that area like? Many thanks.
  18. 4 twin hotel rooms for Saturday 19.5.12. booked on Monday evening for 180 Euro's per room. But, with free cancellation available up to 18th May via "booking.com". Return flights booked seconds after Torres rolled his goal in for £264 with Lufthansa leaving Saturday 19th 07-15 a.m. arriving back Sunday 20th 22.15 p.m. Looks like two long but hopefully happy days!! All we have to do now is get hold of some tickets!!! Looks like there may only be four of us so if anyone is stuck for a room or two on the night of the game please contact me. Although, as stated above, these can be cancelled for free up to 18.5.12.
  19. Anyone know how many tickets we have shifted and how many Chelsea will be going over? Two questions above as the answer is not always the same .
  20. I will be 44 in a couple of weeks so I have seen The Bridge, and the surrounding area, change a lot in the last 20 odd years. In my opinion the ground is almost unrecognisable from when I first attended in the very early 80's. As mentioned in previous comments the pubs around the ground have also changed greatly (for the worst) - but this is the case in many areas, towns and cities. When I attend nowadays (league games, domestic cups and European) I find the atmosphere and experience inside the ground often cold and forgettable - but this is the case at many (not all) Premier league grounds. I cannot understand why some comments refer to The Bridge having a special/magic atmosphere. From what I have read on this forum and elsewhere I think we need to move (if managed correctly) and Battersea would get my vote. KTBFFH!!!
  21. Hull City away twice: Midweek (old) 2nd division promotion season 88?? - we lost 3-0, couldn't care less and it was dodgy outside. Saturday FA cup 3rd or 4th round, Sutton was playing for us. The Autoglass yeras, 1999 or 2000? I think we won 5-0 or 5-1 with a Poyet hat trick.
