QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 23/10/2011 KO 1600 BST
After last night's game I wonder if there are strikers out there who would be looking to dive with Luiz around inside the box. Luiz is a phenomenal talent but at the moment I would rather have the calm and composed Ivanovic to partner JT at the heart of defence. I wouldn't want to go through the decisions etc as its been discussed alread,y what I would want to point out is Drogba's inability to adapt to AVB's style of play. Its been a few games now and all of it cant be down to lack of match sharpness. He has been a great servant but it appears that renewing his contract may not be the smartest move at the moment.

Thibaut Courtois to Chelsea
Is he on Twitter ?!!
-
Luka Modric
Whether or not he will be a Chelsea player only time will tell but I admire him more since the transfer saga. The lad is some professional in the sense he has picked himself beautifully and continued to work hard, thats the sort of lad you want to see don the blue shirt unlike gits like Tevez.

Any game recommendation?
Unchartered 2 is considered by many as a must have for PS3 owners but I felt it was a bit of let down given the hype surrounding it. Its a good game and the story flows well but lacks the element that make games a cult. On the other hand if you have played GOW on PS2 you would know pretty much what to expect and the only difference is in the storyline etc. The graphics and visual appeal for both the games are great and I would suggest you get em both to experience the beauty of PS3!!

Chelsea v Everton (PL) 15/10/11 KO 17:30 BST
Would prefer this as our starting lineup Cech Bosingwa-Ivan-JT-Cole Ramires - Meireles - Lampard Sturridge - Drogba - Mata

Chelsea Fans, Can You Help Me?
Some of Moyes selection baffles me. Coleman on the right midfield when he is comfortable and adds a lot more at right back and not picking Bilyaletdinov since Pienaar has meant Everton's game is far more limited in attack. Also consistently playing Cahill upfront does not win too many fans but the biggest concern to Everton fans should be Moyes's negative mindset.

How about setting up a league and playing online every weekend ? Anyone up for it ?

If you could only attend one Chelsea game a season.....
A game against Rangers at the Bridge/ Ibrox would be my choice.

Bolton v Chelsea (PL) 2/10/11 KO 13:30 GMT
May not be a bad idea to field Alex and JT considering Bolton doesn't boast of anyone with real pace. Its been a while since we kept a clean sheet and that should be one of the objectives in today's game. My lineup - Cech Bosingwa-Alex-JT-Cole Mikel Ramires - Meireles Danny-Anelka-Mata

Luka Modric
I was thinking on similar lines the other night and given Real's history of selling stars (Robben and Sneijder) at throw away prices we could do with Canales in our ranks. Looking at City's squad brimming with flair it would be idiotic on our part to stop looking out for players that fit AVB's philosophy. Tough luck yesterday, the red card came at a time when the game was just shaping to be a cracker.

Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
No one is disrespecting any of our past managers or players out here, stop sounding like one of those dirty media folks by twisting words and statements. It would do the forum and most importantly you a world of good. Fans are comparing the system and tactics we played last season as compared to this, I see no wrong in it. P.S: Who exactly referred to AVB as a messiah?
-
Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
Of course!! And lets hope AVB comes with an actual "change" rather than just playing a high line, pressing and moving the ball quicker. That discussion though is dependent if he keeps his job till the next week since we aren't banging goals like this time last year.
-
Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
You've lost track of the discussion, its not what Carlo did its about what AVB is doing which you prefer to ignore. As far as sarcasm is concerned, good try but I would have preferred if we stuck to football and discussed it.
-
Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
He has been bright and apart from the game against United he has looked threatening in pre-season and the games he has featured. Well if not low on being penetrative it was surely easy to figure out and plan against which we saw in season 2 under Carlo.
-
Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
No one is suggesting that AVB has worked miracles yet but the question is has he bought about change? I'd like to think we are moving away from Carlo's way of playing and its a welcome change. As DKW rightly pointed out we have also changed our approach in defence and the emphasis is playing a high line and pressing. I can counter that arguement by taking Mikel out and we have a far more fluid midfield for attack and a more mobile midfield for defence. This may wind up Mikel's fanboys but unless he starts delivering consistently I'd like to think we have an equally good if not better option in Romeu to step up and deliver. Besides its not Mata alone, we have seen Sturridge contribute his share and in general our wing play looks far more penetrative than Carlo's high ball retention but low penetrative strategy. We aren't the finished article yet but its strange to see how you ignore the numerous changes (albeit some being minute tactical ones) that AVB has implemented.

Raul Meireles *Now Signed*
You don't necessarily have to change a system to highlight changes, the biggest change has been in approach and that's quite evident. The approach today is move the ball quicker and get it to those that make an impact (Mata and Sturridge) as compared to Carlo's approach of grinding and wearing out teams in hope of an error/ a stroke of genius which dint come too often last season. Where there has been a paradigm shift is the ability to take a call and change tactically when its visible that things aren't working as compared to Carlo who continued to play the same system and players through bad patch/ form. Those aren't changes? The last change and which is rather refreshing is he hasn't gone by reputation and is not scared of throwing the young lads in when necessary. Promoting Sturrideg ahead of Kalou and throwing Romeu on are only early indicators but I believe if we do back him he would be the ideal manager to get the best out of our youngsters. That was a team brimming with international players like Ballack, Carvalho etc and match winners at their prime in Lampard and Drogba. The team that played United last week was one under transition and if you are indeed comparing teams compare the games last season at OT and you'll have your answer to that.
-
Torres Form
The answer to that will be the same today and would have been the same had you asked me a week/ month/ year back. Carroll will never be a player that Torres is/ was.
-
Claudio Ranieri
Moratti is either too foolish to hire guys like Rafa and Gasperini in the first place or too demanding with no patience. The patience bit could be attributed to post Jose syndrome which we went through in 2007 and 2008. Claudio should do a good job given the squad and talent they have. If they are in the race come Jan I would probably put a 20 pound on them winning the Serie A.

Hi!
Michael is generally a reasonable person to deal with but its been ages since I visited CFCnet so I am not too sure how things are now. The simple reason I dont visit any other forum is because this is where I feel at home and I hope you have a good time too. Welcome on board !!
-
Following our young guys!
And its an irony that some of most exciting players have been recently from the Spanish league - Silva, Mata, Aguero etc. Some of these players have gone on to break the myth that the latin players or the ones perceived to be physically weak cannot make the cut in the premier league. On the contrary I believe their vision/ guile make them a very crucial component of a top team in the premier league.
-
Torres Form
I have faith in him and from what I recal you have backed him through his bad patches too. What he should remember is the finish which made De Gea look rather stupid. Everyone misses them once a while and where I disagree with you is that he is mentally fragile. Three goals down and he maintained his work rate till the end, I dont think the fragile lot would put that sort of an effort when you know it deep down that its all but over.
-
Torres Form
Yes he will, picked himself well and dint look disheartened, kept the work rate up. The media will highlight the miss but it is upto us to make him feel good and help him as much as we can. By far our best attacking option on the pitch and I dare say he should start everyone henceforth.

Manchester United vs Chelsea (PL) 18/09/11 16:00 KO
If Luiz is fit for this one I would like to see him partner JT. Alex may have saved us last time around but with Young, Nani, Rooney and Chicharito I believe we could be caught out for pace if those two started as CB. Irrespective of how good Bosingwa has been it makes sense to go with Ivanovic at RB.
