Luka Modric
This makes interesting reading, if it is a true barometer of how Spurs fans feel about Modric leaving. Surely, it would really seem futile to try and hang on to him not knowing if this is going to continue after the window closes? http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=78100

Luka Modric
Hopefully, being booed off will push him to make a statement saying he wants out and wants a transfer. If he does that now, I can't see how Spurs could realistically keep him keep him.

MOTM vs Norwich
Going for Bosingwa, thought he had a great game.

Racism at football
Anyone go to Villa away last season? There was fair bit of racist chanting directed as the Villa fans.

Amy Winehouse RIP
Well said, there is a vast difference between reading a post made by someone who has had personal experience and someone who is generalising on something of which they though know little. On the topic of drugs, drink and depression this one has come a little close to home.

Amy Winehouse RIP
I was just thinking it's getting close to shaky ground, referring directly to peoples personal experiences when trying to make a point. Although, I am sure no offence was meant by the post, these can be extremely sensitive and personal issues to some and a topic to be dealt with sensitively as this could get emotive quickly. I may not post with a great deal of regularity but have seen enough of your posts to know that you are more than capable of looking after yourself on here.

Amy Winehouse RIP
Do you still think he's maybe not out of his depth and this could do with bringing to a close?

Amy Winehouse RIP
If I was a gambling man (excuse the pun)....I'd wager a pound he wasn't, as he show's very little knowledge about the subject to of have had any close affiliation to someone who has suffered from addiction.

Amy Winehouse RIP
I would concur that it doesn't mean he lacks the intelligence to hold his own in a debate, however, at the age of 20, it is quite unlikely he has ever experienced someone become a chronic addict. In my experience, it is as German-Blue points out a much slower process than you are ever educated to believe and it is at least, not until the late twenties, when the toll of addiction weighs heavy. German-Blue, it would be interesting to see if your opinion remains the same if you ever have someone you like, respect or "should of known better" become a parody of their former self due to some form of addiction. You may find that life isn't that black and white and a little more complex than being mentally strong.

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't choke on her own vomit until confirmed.

Amy Winehouse RIP
Very sad, unfortunately, only bought to light when the death is that of someone famous. I was fortunate enough to be among of a massive social group in the late 80's - early 90's. Some moved into the rave scene, when it was really underground and an up and coming vibrant scene, others were hard core party goers. The one thing all had in common was, that everyone was celebrated as someone who knew how to have a good time. In the last five years I have been to as many funerals you could relate to drugs or drink in some way, all of these people were first on invites to parties and had no problem attracting partners, rather than the losers the media associates with this kind of death. In my opinion it's all about choices, some of the group moved away from the scene completely, others dabbled as recreational users, the dead didn't change their lifestyle in any way. Surely, if you were hugely talented with a substantial income, don't you have more choices available to you to move away from that lifestyle?

So Bar
Last I saw, we were still credited with more pubs within a mile radius of the ground than any other Prem club, although sadly enough they seem to be rapidly turning their noses up at the old school football crowd. Anyone up for compiling a list of "boozers' they had a decent drink in before/after the match? Along the lines of: O' Neils: Pros - decent beer, proper pub grub at sensible prices. Plenty of seating. Can fart without anyone noticing. Cons - No Sky tv, longish walk from ground. Prince of Wales: Pros - Sky tv OK food. proper chelsea management (arranged travel to Wembley when we were in FA Cup final). Small beer garden. Cons - Need to get in early for a seat if in for the long haul. Can get rammo, long wait to get served. Little Imperial: Pros - Proper pub. Looks like a pit, so no newbies. Full English for less than the price of 2 pints. Old school Chelsea management, Madness, The Specials, old ska prior to the old bill demanding it being turned down. Now the closest boozer to W. Brompton station Cons - Not much bigger than my shed. No Sky tv.

First Home Game Of The Season!
I would advise to stand up when everyone else stands up if unsure...otherwise you might get a veteran ST holder telling you he can't see through your head! I am lucky enough to sit in row 18 and can stand up and vent my spleen all game with nobody behind me.

First Home Game Of The Season!
When you say two parts, do you mean the insert with your name and address (used by the postal service for delivery) + the ticket with the stand and seat number on it? You will only need the latter to gain entry, although it wouldn't hurt to take both, just in case you have received something outside of the norm.

Boozers
Was there myself...what a great night. The misses had rang her boss to say she wouldn't be making work the next day by 7:00!
-
So Bar
Thought, that myself, but, reckon it does not draw in much trade outside of match days, it's pretty grim inside. I guess 27 days a year is not enough to sustain it...shame though. Will be gutted if The Morrison goes as well, already had to find another pub this season since The Tournament shut.

So Bar
Have you been going in the Fox and Pheasant long enough to be considered a regular...would be interested to know how long you have to have been a regular to get a pass that lets you in after the game?
-
Abramovich
Seconded...I think I can put up with the owner playing with their train set, considering the alternative. Yes, I did enjoy the less commercial "Chelsea, win or lose" times, having said that, I've enjoyed watching us lift a shed load of silverware as well.

So Bar
Tried ringing the Morrison before the West Ham game to see if it had reopened and got a dead tone from the phone number posted on the Web.

Player of the year 2011
It's a good job the presenters don't have to take a drug test, Johnny Vaughn could be in a spot of bother,

Paul Van Aanholt
Doh....my apologies, especially when I checked the spelling of Aanholt before I posted!!!!!

Paul Van Aanholt
Paul Van Aanholt and Jeffrey Bruma were watching the game in the Shed Upper yesterday and I found myself standing next to PVA whilst emptying the tank before heading home. Whilst staring straight ahead and avoiding eye contact as is customary when engaging in conversation and standing at the the trough, I asked him if he was coming back next season to which, he replied, he was. So there you go, hot off the press, the source...a drunk bloke taking a leak.
