  1. I haven't seen the TV series, but, the books not a bad read. Didn't realise there was more than one 'Homicide: A Year On The Killing Streets' was the one I was referring to.
  2. Have you got Vista on your PC Moi? I was unfortunate enough to purchase a PC with Vista installed and now have to switch between IE 8 and Firefox when I browse, for instance with a combination of Vista and IE 8 I am unable to watch any YouTube videos and have to use Firefox. I have since treated myself to a MacBook and use Safari, so, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I think I would choose Safari above the others, as I prefer to use keyboard shortcuts rather than the mouse and Safari has a huge number of these.

I'm sure some of these would have been long dead without the funds to get into rehab when needed!! I know some people that look pretty messed up due to hard living, but, some of these look like they've been embalmed!!!
  4. That is my understanding as well, any expansion is hampered by the railway line and surrounding area preventing any more exits, which means additional capacity, having to leave by the remaining exits. To be fair, I can't imagine a further 20,000 plus fans trying to leave by the same exits we have now.
  5. Sorry, I meant...do you know anyone who is looking to build up their loyalty points and be willing to let you purchase a ticket using their membership? I would let you use mine, but, I have already got people asking if they can use it for the away leg, plus, I don't really think I'll get a look in.
  6. Although, I think we are probably all used to the media contributing quotes to John Terry, when he hasn't in fact said them at all, I thought this was a great example of twisting what he actually did say, into the complete opposite of what appears to be meant. The below quote come from an interview published on the official club website: Official link "'I just wanted to win at the World Cup; there was no disrespect to Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, or Lamps [Frank Lampard], who would have been the next captain, or the manager in fact. 'The respect for the players around me and the manager has always been the same and always will be the same. 'Maybe it just got mistranslated or people took it the wrong way, thinking I was trying to be captain when I wasn't. It's just that I am a very passionate guy and I want to win games and I didn't want to come home from the World Cup." Although, the content of the link itself isn't overly damning, the headline reads: Yahoo Link "Terry: Players respect me" Other links from Yahoo referencing the same interview include the headlines: "Euro 2012 qual. - Terry: England united behind me" "Terry: I'm not everyone's cup of tea"
  7. When I was trying to build up enough loyalty points for a season ticket application, I could not afford to go to all cup games, plus, mid-week is not always practical as I work away a lot. Do you know anyone in this postion, as I would pactically be begging people to take these tickets off my hands, so I could get the loyalty points I needed for my season ticket and the big games.
  8. Apart from home games, I have only been to a couple of away games and no cup games this season and still have just over 70 loyalty points that I got for the away games, plus the loyalty points that come with having a season ticket, based on that, I would say that the chances of the tickets getting sold at fifty points are very low. Sometimes I've struggled to get away tickets even with a season ticket, as the Away Travel Scheme is heavily subscribed. I also received three text messages on the day of the draw, from people asking if I was going and if not could they have the tickets, so it looks like demand is going to be high!

You watched the game in a pub and then went to an Internet cafe....rock 'n' roll, I bet you are a riot at a party.
  10. Just got in from the game and was interested to see what people thought of the Torres sub. I sat down today, really surprised to see a Kalou and Torres combination, but, really thought bringing on Drogba and Anelka in tandem was a great move, after playing an hour of the game, it has to be soul destroying seeing those two walk on with fresh legs.
  11. Good point, without knowing what the question was, it's difficult to judge the context of the reply.
  12. Got to be Luiz for me, it's been a while since I've heard the crowd so united behind one player. Could the crowd be heard in TV singing to the tune of "Can't take my eyes off of you"? "Do do do do do do do dooo. Oh David Luiz, you are the love of my life. Oh David Luiz you can shag my wife." Was a classic moment.
  13. I must admit, I am much more accustomed to United winning and think the United fans are also, which makes them much less of a pain in the arse when they win. Arsenal fans talking about "potential" for another season would be easier to take. Most of us dislike the Dippers talking about "history", but, can you imagine if they actually won something!!!
  14. Was hoping for the same...with Zhirkov, instead of Malouda. Although not all Zhirkov's moves pay off and he has not got too many starts this season, I feel he seems to be a little more creative, where I feel Malouda is going through a phase of trying to run into the same space time and time again, even if it is not fruitful.
  15. Drogba again. Always looking to set someone else up, when they were in a better position than he was to score.
  16. Bolton...was the last belter, if I remember rightly.
  17. If you need to come into Fulham from over Wandsworth Bridge, you will come straight up to Porcelonsa kitchen and bathrooms, turn right at this junction into Town Mead Road. You can normally park down here and walk to Kings Road in a couple of minutes. We did this in a mid week game last year after taking advice from a mate who drives regularly and this was fine, parking meters easy to find, especially if you cut down William Morris road that leads towards Sainsbury's and runs parallel to Towns Mead Road. When people have commented you are in the wrong place to shout and stand, they are probably referring to the West Stand Upper being a quieter stand than the Shed or MH, so you will not find it intimidating up there at all.
  18. I would have thought this was a bit of a problem for a footballer? Balotelli Concern

Would this thread really have ever got to five pages if Torres had not come in at a hefty 50 million? As has been pointed out before five games really isn't enough time to evaluate a player bedding into the team, surely the Ramires thread earlier this season proved this. We have invested a lot of money in a player that has not been in the best form, we can't be sure of the reasons for the loss in form and more importantly, only time will tell if he will become the success we all want him to be. The deal is done now, lets hope it all turns out to be a great decision on behalf of the club and the player and the nerves are settled before too long.
  20. I went for Kalou, OK, he missed a couple of strikes, but, drew the penalty and generally seemed give us a dimension when it was needed. I must admit to thinking a draw or worse could be on the cards until those last two goals went in, I just couldn't seeing it going any of our strikers way last night.
  21. Bosingwa, over Ivanovic....would be interested on the general consensus on that one? I know it's got to be horses for courses sometimes, but, I always feel more comfortable with Ivan back there.
  22. Ultimately, I guess it comes down to personal choice and I wouldn't condemn someone for looking a bit silly, but, to be fair I spent a month working in Norway a couple of years back, the temperature was around -15 most mornings and I went out for a daily run without one and got on ok with just the pink ear muffs.
  23. They deserved that after their last goal was unjustly (in my opinion) disallowed.
  24. I saw the injury on redcafe.com and it looks horrific, however, I was just shown another picture from the Sun newspapers sports pages online and it looks like a much lesser injury. Definitely a picture of the same leg, you can see the an old scar below the knee on both pictures.
