Don't know that much about him but is he a natural wide player? If that isn't the case we'd have problems not dissimilar to what we have at the moment in attack. Even Anelka is played out of position on the flanks. I'd MUCH rather promote Sturridge to partner/play behind/flank Torres and get a dedicated, class winger and a playmaker than spend an unnecessary fee on another albeit talented but unproven striker. Personally I think this is Aguero all over again and don't have time for it. He also strikes me as a bit of a drama queen and God knows we have enough of those.

City are certainly a future rival but for the time being they're the lesser of two evils. Their fans are sadly mistaken if they think CL qualification is the golden ticket to greatness, sort of comparing themselves to us. They forget however that we were no strangers to the CL pre Abramovich and have a certain pedigree in that competition which pre-dates our latest owner. They however are coming from mid-table mediocrity and have a lot to prove to the European superpowers before they can consistently attract the world class talents they're hoping for and be considered a rival to the likes of Real, Barca, both sides of Milan and whoever else. If they qualify and are humiliated in the first round their efforts this season will have been for naught. The media love affair with Spurs however can no longer be tolerated and I hope City brushes them aside in the race for 4th with a helping hand from us along the way. I also lend them my support in the FA cup just so the Mancs have to live with the fact they they blew the chance to keep City away from a trophy for another year (I even feel sorry for them at this point). As far as the title goes, I think we're still in for an outside chance of usurping United - stranger things have happened. Failing that miracle however, 2nd place is likely where we'll end up which is hardly a catastrophe considering the season we've endured. We are very lucky not to be in deep concern over our top 4 position, all things considered.

If he starts Torres I hope he starts Yossi too. His linkup play has provided Torres' best chances and a good 60/90 minutes of that would no doubt equate to Torres' first goal (or hatrick) in blue!

Pressure is off us now and I think we're still in for a small chance considering. However, to steal the title, we'd have to rely on Arsenal beating the Mancs which is not a safe bet. Anything can happen if we continue winning though. If they lose at Newcastle (very possible) and we beat Brum there's only 5 points in it with a game at OT to come, so its on!

I love how the team is behind Carlo and Torres, when Terry walked up to him and had a word in his ear to set up that free kick made me smile - shame he stuffed it but otherwise had another good game for us proving his excellent movement and vision (he was extremely unlucky to have that goal disqualified). Regardless of what the red media would have us believe, I feel extremely privileged to have him as the centre piece of our attack for seasons to come. With Arsenal's result today I'm happy for us to keep rolling on, a bit more relaxed and finishing the season in some style. Who knows, United's fixtures are pretty tough, they're tired, have the CL to worry about and are no doubt pissed over the FA Cup exit - maybe we could take the title to the wire.

I don't think its unrealistic to imagine us stealing the title at this point. Our fixtures aren't as bad as the other 2, we have a chance to take points from United directly at OT and we don't exactly have any pressure anymore. If they lose at Newcastle its on.

Love him of course, have a strange feeling that he's not found his calling yet, he just doesn't strike me as a truly defensive player. He's been found out there a few times but I can see him improving greatly so either way can't complain.

I have a feeling Liverpool is gonna beat Arsenal today and United have to go all the way up to Newcastle; tired, pissed off and play a team that always raises their game for them. Very possible they both drop 3 points this week which would leave 5 points between us and them with a game against them still on the cards.
