Jose Mourinho thread
Managers have been moaning about this in England for years, and I think they have a point. For one, we have an extra cup compared everyone else (League Cup). Other leagues also get a winter break, while we pile on the games. By the time the CL knockouts come about things start getting really jammed if you're still involved in all competitions, with April and May often getting ridiculous as it will for United this year. It'd be nice if the FA thought about scheduling more games in the slower period before Christmas to lighten the load at the business end of the season. Maybe then PL clubs wouldn't be so consistently disappointing in the European cups.

More a massacre than a spectacle though.

Pep doesn't look pleased. Another good weekend for us.

City might be desperate for points by the time they come to the Bridge. Hopefully they crush Arsenal.

Penalty to Pool.

Romelu Lukaku
Indeed. Whilst I disagree that it's an apt description for him, someone who rips apart the "fodder" of the league is someone who wins titles.

Missed it in real time, good catch. Definitely a pen there and possibly a red card for that clip on Sterling. City had two pen claims in that one attack in all honesty.

City team | Caballero, Fernandinho, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy, Yaya Touré, Sané, De Bruyne, Silva (C), Sterling, Agüero LFC team | Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino. What is Pep thinking with that lineup? I wouldn't be surprised if City get destroyed.

Saints really up for this second half. Could end in tears for Spurs yet. 2-1.

Spurs certainly are getting the rub of the green with penalties this season. Nevertheless you have to give them credit for assembling such a good team with so little spent. Pochettino is shaping up to be a great manager.

He's always been a twat. The only difference is he's no longer our twat.

No way this United team is making top 4. They have Spurs, City and Arsenal away to go, with Everton and ourselves at home with Europa League matches sandwiched in there. They'll have to do a Liverpool and put all their chips in the EL basket. To think this lot were tipped for the title at the start of the season.

Why do they never play Shaw? Their best CB is playing LB when they have better options available. I'd have him here if Mourinho has some sort of grudge against him.

Banana skin written all over this game for United. Zlatan, Herrera and Pogba out and Boro have just sacked a manager.

If we win all our games up to and including United away, we'd have 81 points. Not enough to win the title unfortunately unless Spurs and City go on an unprecedented losing streak.

Romelu Lukaku
Not to mention he had a couple of great shots he got off in very tight spaces. 21 goals and 6 assists in the league so far. We'll regret it if he ends up at a rival.

Romelu Lukaku
I've followed him and been a fan since we first bought him from Anderlecht. I was disappointed when we sold him off a few years ago and I'd be delighted to have him back. He's done a lot to improve the weaknesses in his game since he was last with us. I think ~£60m would be great value for us, considering we originally acquired him for around £13m and sold him for £30m. Net we'd be spending £43m on one of the best young strikers in the world who'd be ripe and ready to go leading our line. This is assuming Costa leaves in the summer to China for ridiculous money. If Everton decide to fleece us and ask for ~£90m though I think we'd be better off looking at Morata, Belotti or Icardi. If Lukaku has his heart set on coming here he can then wait out his final year and leave on a free. If someone else is willing to pay that much, good luck too them.

Potters Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 18/03 2017 KO 15:00 GMT
The last time we looked this relentless was 2006. Away to Stoke, infamous goons of the league. A late winter chill in the air, gale winds, Hazard ruled out at the 11th hour - yet we grind out the 3 points in the dying minutes when we would have been forgiven for resting on the laurels of our 10 point cushion. Conte has reforged this team with a cast iron spine, and imbued it with a steel blue soul.

Marco Reus to Chelsea?
Well if Madrid buy they just have to sell someone. I'd take Bale back at a cut price, nice for the HG quota too. The only hitch I foresee on this one is Bayern, since Robbery is getting old.

No we get another slot in the CL if an English team wins.

Chelsea v Swansea (PL) 13/09/14 KO 15:00 BST
Yep he hasn't been effective up there once for us. He's good from wide positions. We have Remy now so I'm not concerned about Costa missing games. His injury was apparently minor, so his withdrawal was probably precautionary. We had the same scare just before he started against Everton and scored a brace.
