I’m weirdly looking forward to it. I can see some of the young talent getting some game time too which could be really beneficial in the long term. I think if we can keep the beat players we have now we will be favourites too. I know it’s not an easy competition to win. I’d argue it’s harder to get as far as the final in the EL than it is in the CL. But I’d rather win this than finish in the top four, although I’d prefer we did both next season.

There are examples on both sides although remember Bakayoko had played for Monaco and on the big stage regularly. Loftus-Cheek hasn’t done that even for a season yet. So it’s a bit of a different comparison although I get where you’re coming from. My point being though that these players need a chance to try and prove themselves and you have to admit we often don’t give them that chance. I actually don’t think we’d have been any less worse off if we’d never even signed Bakayoko and just tried our RLC.

I’m not convinced that Enrique is all that good tbh. Feel same about Blanc. A Chelsea fan mentioned Deschamps other day, what does everyone make of that?

Yeah that was a great goal, was so disappointing when we went out to City though they were there for the taking. Another great memory for me is I remember us beating Hull in 2000.

He’s a young player, how is he supposed to improve if he doesn’t get his shot? Im sure there were Spurs fans who thought Kane wasn’t good enough. Look at him now.

I do think with the FA Cup nothing will ever match the greatness of that FA Cup win in 1997. It was the first trophy I ever watched us win and is rightly always remembered for that great Di Matteo goal. Outside of Chelsea I’ll always remember watching that Man U vs Arsenal classic in 1999. That was one of the greatest matches I’ve ever watched. I also remember I think it was on “They think it’s all over” and Frank Skinner took the piss out of the Giggs celebration and he lost his shirt as we was swinging it, then pulling his chest hair off and swinging that

After seeing some great nostalgic talk regarding the FA Cup in the Fa Cup final thread. It got me thinking, what are some of your favourite memories of the FA Cup. Both Chelsea and non Chelsea?

I do think with Luiz in the team our chances of top four would have increased.

Chelsea ladies have won the super league. What a great season our youth and ladies teams have had. Puts the men’s team to shame.

With the way we seem to have tightened the purse strings that may not be the best idea. Selling him now we could recoup a good sum of money for him. If we keep him and he ends up just as poor as this season then we are unlikely to recoup the money.

I think the league has always been the big one but I think back then the Fa Cup was probably more valued by fans and non fans. More like the World Cup where people who won’t normally watch football would watch it. Of course I’m not old enough to know this for sure but from what I’ve spoken to people who are this is the impression I get. The FA Cup was special, I wish it still was. It means a lot to me personally mind.

I had a debate with my Liverpool supporting mate today (he chats sh*t thinks Liverpool deserved to finish second, I was like so why did you finish 4th then?) but anyway. He was saying how badly we’re treating Conte and I proper lost my rag. People like my mate looking from the outside in don’t get it. Conte hasn’t shown the fans much respect, he looks sisnteteated, is constantly putting down players and wants to leave. This isn’t a situation where the club is only bothered about league position or the timing of an exit from the CL, this is about a man and a club who have fallen out, a man who refuses to accept any responsibility for our dire season and finally a man who appears to have zero respect for the fans. So yes while we have had harsh sackings in the past, Conte’s will be fully deserved. f**king Liverpool fans!
