Are you better off without 2 wingers?
The last few years has seen a rise in the use of Inverted wingers throughout Europe. Most of the big sides utilize an Inverted winger on one side of the pitch to provide a direct attacking threat. Nani Robben Messi Ronaldo We have never used this tactic as far as im aware, even when we had Robben Duff and Cole rotating on our wings. I would love to see us use an inverted winger for a more direct approach, and it would suit our counter attacking game. I was thinking Zhirkov could play this role for us. Zhirkov to the right wing, with instructions to cut inside and shoot and run at defenders.

What are we to do now?
We need a winger and a back up keeper in the summer imo. Perhaps a new young right back aswell (any of our youngsters play on the right?) Regardless of who is manager. Next priority for me is to bring through the youth, if Carlo cant or wont do it, then he gets the sack. With a winger and confident youth our squad looks fine to me. This is our squad with our youngsters playing knowing they will get a fair chance to prove themselves over 20 games of the season. (Starting) Cech Ivanovic Luiz Terry PVA Mikel Ramires Mceachren Kauta Torres Sturridge

Ancelotti delivers Chelsea bombshell:
Hate to say i told you so....buuuut I started a thread on this forum, maybe 2 or 3 months ago about who should replace Carlo. I suggest the current manager of Porto. I wouldnt mind someone from the premiership being given the chance. Owen Coyle looks a good manager to me and would certainly let the players know they are underperforming. I was shouted down even though i wasn't saying Carlo should be shacked, just merely trying to start a discussion as to his replacement in the event of his resignation or sacking. For the record i think this squad needs a new winger more than we need a new manager, how short sighted of us to let go of Robben, who although a glass cannon, is so effective when he is on the field. Someone with the directness of N'Zogbia or Nani (but not Nani obviously) is needed on the right or left. I would like a manager who will fully commit to bringing through our youth if Carlo goes. Kakuta and Sturridge are good enough imo. As are PVA and Bruma. They just need time. If we dont get fourth then i would love a Zola and Clarke combination, with the aim next year to win a cup and get back into the champions league whilst giving LOTS of game time (20 or so premier league starts) to the youngsters. I would accept no Champions League for two years should something like this happen. Ashley has looked unable to get down the left effectively in recent games. Let PVA show what he can do and we get that attacking impulse back. No creative force in midfield? Kakuta and Mceachren will sort that out. (fabregas was starting games at 17 i think and Wilshere has been playing since 18, so why not Josh?) A tough choice would have to be made as to who would be moved on. If we start with Kakuta (should be starting at 20 if hes good enough) and Ramires (who deserves to start) we couldnt keep all of Mikel, Lamps, Mceachren and Essien on the bench. Torres to be the killer instinct with Sturridge as his partner (If playing two strikers) or even give Danny his chance to shine if Torres isnt doing the business! I want this to be our priority next season. Lets get a manager who can make these lads shine.

Next Season
Looking at our starting line up I can see some major reivestment still needed for next season unless we are really going to trust our young players. especially Josh and Gael. Next season: / indicates possible options. Cech 4 3 3 Ivan luiz terry cole Mikel Ramires Someone new/kakuta/ Someone new/Kalou/ Torres someone new (We really are in need or some new attackers out wide for the 433, to create and cross the ball. I think our lack of an old fashioned winger has cost us dearly this year) Would love Nani tbh. Or Nasri. Diamond Cech Ivan luiz terry cole Mikel Ramires Someone new Someone new/kakuta/ Torress Someone new/Sturridge/Kalou/ Im just strictly speaking about our first team here, and not taking any changes of possible formation we could use into account. Malouda, Anelka(who will go to the MLS this summer) Drogba and Lampard need to be replaced with quality and not quantity in the summer. No repeats of this years week squad. Essien has been too poor this season for me and either has to buck up his effort or be dropped. Kalou, whilst having improved, still flatters to decieve when he starts most of his games and needs to work on his finishing (although i would like to see him given a run of games as torres' strike partner in the diamond). I think we need to trust the youth next year (at 20 and 18 (next year) Kakuta and Mceachren are old enough to start for me, if they show they are good enough. Also, Sturridge should be given a chance next year as Torres' partner in the diamond but he doesnt look suited to the 433) but we will still need at least one wide player imho, and also a new creative player in the centre. Sneidjer (sp?) Please roman! To end on a bright note, If Bruma and PVA develop into good enough players for the starting eleven next year our defence looks set for the forseable future :)

As an owner, what price would you pay?
Mceachren! Haha. I would die if we ever sold him though. Im called Josh too, so its especially very cool that hes our bright hope for me. Not Messi. He will stay at Barce for the rest of his carreer. I honestly cant think of any footballer thats worth 100 million apart from Messi tbh. Fabregas? Hes briiliant and still very young.

Didier Drogba
The Warrior. The King. Has been singlehandedly winning games and ripping apart defences for years now. Some muppets were calling for him to be sold in this CURRENT transfer window :/. I would just like to say that I actually love the man, hes my icon and hero. The greatest chelsea stricker of all time? Goal vs the dippers. My favourite bit of Drogba magic, plus the great reaction by Jose! Haha. vs Barca. I was at this game. I remember the crowd being quiet before kick off, like we almost collectively feared Barca. But the Warrior pulled us through.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcVdwz-1yhA vs Everton. Chest.Turn.Smash. WONDER GOOOOOOOOOAL! vs the scum in the FA Cup final a few years back. Great bit of play between him and Frank. A nice compiltion of the King.P.S. I've been a chelsea fan since i was born in 1990, so my memory doesn't stretch back far enough to compare Didier to the other true Chelsea greats upfront, other than Zola. None of the videos created by me. Sorry if the music is crap on them, I don't have sound at work so can't check.

Shinji Kagawa
Hes been quoted at 20 mil! What a profit that would be for Dortmund! Apparently, Sir Alex wanted to buy him in this transfer window but was put off by the astronomical price tag.

Shinji Kagawa
A nice article on him in the Guardian by Rafael Honigstein. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/sep/20/shinji-kagawa-borussia-dortmund-schalke

Shinji Kagawa
Shinji Kagawa. Having a good season at Dortmund by all accounts, attacking midfielder, looks like hes good on the ball and can get a goal. Only 21, I can see him being perfect for our squad, a midfield of matic mceachran kagawa would be nice in the future( i reckon he could slot into a wide position aswell, if asked). If we can get him him cheapish would be a great buy imo. Good replacement for Frank and could bring in revenues from an expanded intrest from the far east. Of course another factor is how well Kakuta develops (and how often he plays) because he would be most natural in the Lampard role as well I think.

Is The Jury Really Out On Carlo
Bring in a new manager now, if they can, so he has plenty of time to assess the squad for before the summer and then let him buy/ sell as he see fit in the summer. My pick would be Villa Boas. He is doing great at Porto. Billed as Jose mark 2. He will be at a top european side soon, lets not miss out.
