While a manager's role is to pick and motivate the players,set the team play etc,that in no way can excuse a lack of effort,passion or pride one would expect of a pro player.They are adults aren't they?,don't they want to perform,give it their all?. J.T., Lampard & Ramires have been giving it everything haven't they?,and that's under the same manager as Anelka,Didier & Kalou.Time to put more of the focus on who's rolling their sleves up and who isn't.

While the pay/bonus players recieve is frankly, absurd the question of motivation still remains.Kalou is in my opinion a lazy player,who has shown he has the talent but not the commitment to prove it. It comes down to the players personallity,if for example you doubled J.T.'s wages,he wouldn't play with twice the effort,because he already does. I guess you would hope the glory of a sports career would be enough,(and wages),but it's that little bit 'extra' that seperates the very best from all the rest,and in truth ,I guess that will always be so.

If a player gives his all,then you really can't complain,that's just not right.

Good in theory but totally unworkable in the real world,besides,I would never be critical towards Lamps when he has & always will give 100% effort. Mind you,a team based bonus judged on the club's succsses,to be shared equally, may work,but it would have to be for everyone,(inc backroom staff).
