Twitter is sh*t for rumours. One person can say pretty much anything and it will get repeated by loads of people, making it look like it's a sure thing because so many people are reporting it.

So more fuss about nothing. Surprise surprise.

So which news source is supposedly breaking this "big story" which will turn out to be boring again?

1 He'll just get a new contract after some heart-to-heart discussions with the owners and the manager, who promise him more big signings and that they'll win the premiership next year.

If it was Anelka to go, then cash wise it should be no more than about £35m. Of course in reality it should be no more than about £15-20m, but prices are so jacked up these days it's ridiculous.

It really is quite hilarious over on RAWK. They seem to think Torres is worth at least £60m, preferring about £60m + Essien, or + Drogba.

Realistically It's looking unlikely we'll make a signing this window. I have a sneaky feeling that the torres bid (and aguero one if true) were probably made knowing full well they'd be rejected, but just to try and let people know we still have money to spend and roman is still interested.

If we're willing to spend £40 odd million on Torres, we might as well use it to get 2 players, rather than 1. For example one of those promising youngsters like Hazard, Lakuku, etc... We've already broken the hearts of the scousers without having to spend any money, so having achieved that, let's take the money elsewhere now and spend it more wisely.

At least we didn't lose, but a replay isn't going to be helpful with our small squad and fixture congestion. :hmm:

I really hope we don't mess up qualification for the CL. It's all we've got to aim for this season realistically.

It's been coming. We've been poor again, I can only remember 2 shots form us. Malouda form long range and Anelka staight at the keeper. We keep giving the ball away and Everton are pressuring us every time we get it. I really cannot see us getting anything from this now. Seems the bad moment isn't completely over yet after all...

Problem with Anelka is he just slows everything down so far that the opposition have time to get lots of players back. He very rarely runs at the defence and tries to commit them. He's still got a reasonable amount of pace, but he doesn't show it.

How about a sneaky last-minute bid for Coleman before the window closes?

Everton been better so far. Essien very poor again and Anelka. Ramires has been good though, played a great ball through for Nico.

I suppose it's still possible we'll get Luiz, if we decide to just pay the money up front and stop dicking around. But it's dragged on for so long and been called off, then on again, then off again as well...I just can't see it happening now.

How about Kalou instead?
